    Hi mate greetings from Australia....We dont have Lawn Boy mowers here but they look like a very well made machine with a non corrosive deck...Things were made to last in those days with a lot of style as well.....Chinese junk are just landfill....I have an old Aussie Victa mower from the 1960s with the same sort of colour.....All the best friend and thanks for saving another classic mower.

      Yes! they are well made for sure. The deck is made of magnesium. I've heard of Aussie Victa. You're welcome!

    I guess it has magneto mounted under the flywheel something like certain older Tecumseh engines with points had? Do you have to fool with some kind of battery powered test light to get the points adjusted to begin to open at exactly a certain point of rotation?
    (I see you got the flywheel off and points/mag exposed on the next installment) 🦉

      No need for a light, a feeler gauge works fine for setting the points gap.
