    I like the calmness and educational level of the interviewed and the interviewer. Ms Feldman is a clear, honest and upright intellectual. I adore her resilience for what she is exposed to in today's fakely pro-Semitic and, for me, discursively dishonest and poisoned Germany.

    7:14 'They can get away with bullying as long as they use these rhetorical tools'. This is a very important point, and also explains in part why, contrary to the expectations of people who think this is about some sincere feelings of guilt, German Zionists often get NASTIER when they find out the person disagreeing with them is Jewish.

      I'm not surprised he took it down. The first part was and still is such an important contribution to our domestic discourse, that's usually informed by people who are any combination of inept, evil and/or mentally unwell. She delivers her analysis and her invaluable insights with such relentless clarity, which undoubtedly had germany's media talking heads in fetal position, sobbing, because they just wouldn't be equipped to experience expertly presented facts, giving these losers their first brush with reality.
      the second eposode sucked, unfortunetly, why I'm welcomming the decision to take it down

      I do not really understand her either. To call a country "antisemitic" because the chancellor of the country used the word "mauscheln" is absurd. Being a German, I would have guessed that "mauscheln" stems from the German word "Maus" for "Mouse" (the animal), and not that it is connected to Moses.
      Many Germans critcize Israel because of the continuous war-mongering the leaders of the country show. This is the problem. This country has been in an almost constant state of war since its existence in modern times. And it was no different in ancient times, as reading the Old Testament shows. And always the leaders of Israel say it's the other ones who are doing wrong, the others were so "antisemitic", but it is never the Israeli government who is doing anything wrong. Almost impossible to believe that. Even for Germans.

  • @Sorenzo

    My dad is kinda like that Arab guy who asked you about your passport. I get frustrated when he fails to distinguish Jews from Israelis. At one time, I accidentally exaggerated when I, frustrated, said "There are no Jews in Israel!" 😅
    When we say "Scarlett Johansson is Danish", there's nobody who gets confused about where she lives, whether she's American, whether she's favours the Danish Social Democrats, the Red-Greens, Conservatives, or anyone else.
    Likewise, when we say "this person is Jewish", it's fundamentally unfair to suppose they would or should live in the Middle East or support any political factions in a foreign country.
    (I just read that Johansson actually has Danish citizenship but I've never heard of her ever living here, so I'm not sure it's correct, but still nobody goes "oh yea she's that Danish actress.")

    I have just started the vid and I just wanna say for future eps: your casual setup (sitting on the couch having a chat) clashes a lot of with your partly formal outfit and results in a wrinkly and creased look of your clothes and uncomfortable-looking seating position and an overall unrelaxed vibe.

    Every time I listen to this person I kinda want to read up on everything mentioned. Sadly it's not time for me to become a literate person.
    Now, as put in a few of this video's last comments:
    "Where's the second part?"
    I think it's a rarely expressed and nouanced opinion she has, if I understand it correctly(probably I don't). What I agree upon in feeling at least is : not just in Germany , there's way more happening to delay resolution of a conflict around Israel's border and fascists in other countries politics are trying to only release aid whenever it can happen as demonstration of the "benefit" of fascist strategies. I am not going to say the majority of german politics is actively fascist , it is just very indifferent to all the contributions certain groups made to the creation of artificial perpetual aggression in the middle east or the soviet union through perpetraitors in the Kaiserzeit, Weimarer Republik and the third Reich. It's not as if we live in a warzone in Germany, we havethe time to reflect on the difference between countries in the middle east that turned out stable and those lied to by corrupt groups abroad or their political elite themselves working out autoritarian, feudal or even fascist dynamics. Those conflicts are what fascists around the world bank on - in my believe. Both sides - the supposed west and especially the most stable successors to ottoman power- should really use their ressources, to get civillians out of warzones and into systems able to prosper. Instead we go from, first, forgetting about how much effort was made, to convince civilians and reservists to become paramilitary or terrorists to reconquer Transjordania's share of the Ottoman Empire in order to restore it, to ,second, legitimizing aspirations for two states Israel-Gaza, to ,third, trying to establish fascist influence from abroad in Israel and Gaza , to , fourth, letting them " figure it out themselves" and back to forgetting we had in the first possible instance or even earlier fascist tendencies or governments implementing and funding the Dynamic we see today. Germany, I think , takes part in that , since "support for Israel" on one side doesn't turn into proactive refugee-policy for Gaza and the Westbank and in addition bringing other more stable countries to the discussion, wich could take on the safety infrastructure to deal with terrorism. It doesn't seem as if we'd let something like that happen easily and rarher frame that as well as ,allegedly subconsciously , Israel itself as a "Collonialism"(which it's certainly not being a crumb considering the former Ottoman expansion, or the fact that they never had.. back breaking forced labour camps to extract ressources for profit), all in one go..
    Turkey, Syria and or Iran probably are a bad idea considering this task, altough that depends on which social peer group is mainly engaged. Egypt could maybe, Jordania does that probably, Israel does probably help civilians there already to get out of there or at least unmask and interupt their , now Hamas, government actions every now and then. That's just not how supposed german moderates want it, which is a theme getting worse the rurther "right" the party/member gets, they insist Palestine is a natural idea for a state until they see the violence escalation and then diffarmation against Muslims and Immigrants happens and agreement to support(actually we agree to not condemn!) for Israel's extremly delayed AND extremly exagerated military action..
    Why the exageration happens I don't know, It could be relatively slowly over growing fascist ideology in Israel , or revenge or, as stated by Israel mostly: calculating the chance of how long Israel's military could wage war before the world forgets the rational reason again, which is to weaken Hamas amd destroy their military's infrastructure.. probably all three reasons , opinions amd staff are engaged, naturally, against each other and against Hamas and, sadly, the civilians in Gaza. Even worse is that this condition isn't unique and it maybe even is on the brighter side of the world's governments compositions.

    To be fair though, Mrs Feldman has clashed with the whole German Jewish community, she even lost a court battle on defamation based on Feldman's claims that her detractors weren't actually Jews. They were, she lost that fight. She is seen as kind of a fringe voice, especially because of her tendency to declare other Jews as non-Jews.

    I'm 10 minutes in to this podcast, listening to a convoluted long-winded critique of Germany's alliance with Israel, despite the latter having become radicalized in Feldman's opinion. But how and why is Israel any more extremist now than say ten years ago? The interviewer needs to be more forceful in interrupting Feldman's ramblings and prompt her to get to the point. As a German I was not aware that the word "mauscheln" is in some way disrespectful, I just thought it was colloquial anjd stands for achieving something in a way that is a little but not severely irregular. In English it would translate to: to fiddle or to wheel and deal. I don't think that just because a term is of Yiddish heritage makes it problematic.

    • @Sorenzo
      @Sorenzo 4 дні тому +1

      My understanding is that it's not a Yiddish word, but a German word that references Jews as a description of hustling or scheming, which is quite different. It's more like saying "don't Jew me down" in American English (as in, "don't haggle with or be cheap with me") than using a Yiddish word like putz or chutzpah, isn't it? It's based on the Yiddish name for Moses, but it's not a Yiddish word, according to what I can find.
      It's possible some Yiddish speakers have used it but from what I'm finding it's literally just a way for German speakers to implicate Jewish people in underhanded behaviour.

    @torvenhartz1002 17 днів тому +5

    Sorry, but declaring a word - in this case "mauscheln" to be somehow antisemitic is total bullshit and just shows that she doesn't understand some basics of communication. It's all about intention - and I guarantee that at least 95% of all germans don't know where "mauscheln" comes from. So only because you feel offended doesn't mean that someone meant to offend you - most of the time such an offend is more about your own hypocrisy than anything else.
    Another thing is the interpretation of the
    "Staatsräson" - it's a very abstract thing and I would assume that you did it mostly wrong. There's a bright criticism of Netanjahu in germany but at the same time there's some kind of responsibility to the existence of the israelian state. Both things need to be seen separately. In the end it was the hamas who started this war. And it was Oct7 that brought up the wording of the Staatsräson not the right turn of the knesset. Anyway the actions Netanyahu takes don't lead to any solution. I don't see anyone in germany who would endorse what's happening in Gaza. But the enemy is hamas - as long as they don't surrender and let their own people suffer, their people will suffer ...

    • @stefankotz2242
      @stefankotz2242 17 днів тому

      Staatsräson comes from a merkel speech long before october 7th. Germany is helping this goverment fight this specific war with submarines and other weapons. There is no apstract support for some abstract concept of some idealised isreal. its always specific goverments doing specific things and currently that is commiting a lot of war crimes ostensibly to free the hostages. But big chuck of fromer hostages and hostages families actually don't want that war and want a negoiated deal, which israeli goverment has refused multiple times. You cant help israel but not help netanyahu as long as he is the leader. Hamas is horrible but israel has presented no strategy of how do deradicalise gazans, other than destruction and bloodshed which will just create codnditions for new hamas to rise even if you destroy the old one. If you want to "denazify" gaza you need also the marshial plan not only bombs. I.e. economic development investment, as well as democracy. Israel has shown no willingness for such a help. So its just war crimes and human suffering on all sides with no ling term plan so that bibi can stay in power cause as long as there is war he hopes to be secure in his position. And Germany suppotts this wuth money and weap9ms and diplomatic support at icj etc.

    This is the commissioner. You create a position, this is a constructivistic task, and you put your friend on that seat, and he becomes the hub for everything and anything , and everything and everyone dealing with this item has to walk through this hub or else it is not legit.

    If somebody using the word GLOBALISTS (Maaßen) is an Antisemit, than I am. And; by the the way: according to Annetta Kahane from the Antonio-Amadeo-Stiftung I also was an Antisemit when I questioned the Covid-Politics because beeing "Antiscience" means to be antisemitic. And issuing conspiricy-theories made me an antisemit because the first conspiracy-theory was targeted towards Jews. And even the Holocaust survivour Vera Sharav was called an Antisemite whne she called out the so called VACCINE connecting it to the Nuernberg Trails. They played with the phantay of sending the unvaccinated to Madagasgar and called unvaccinated People SOZIALSCHÄDLINGE and spoke of the TYRANY OF THE UNVACCINATED. Thes excluded us form public life. Hans Georg Maaßen was a critic of these completely undemocratic and fascist politics. And weather the scenes in Chemnitz were HETZJAGDEN? They were ugly, but not Hetzjagden.

    I read Feldman's book "Judenfetisch" and watched her movie with interest. However, her own plight in the Williamsburg orthodox community makes her blot out the extremism epedemic of the islamic world. - Her critique of German "Staatsräson" towards Israel is reasonable, however not every German who supports Zionism does so out of a cynical "Staatsräson". Or would you level the same critique at someone like, say, Douglas Murray, who strongly supports Zionism and the war on Hamas and Hisbollah?
    Critique of Israel and the Netanyahu government should not be leveled at fighting Hamas but at the fact that they don't have a plan for the future of Gaza and the West bank.

      @derKosmoprolet369 just google the word mauschln and read the wikipedia article. Why are you making things up. Rotwelsch has partly jewish roots but was not a language primarly spooken primarly by jews, but rather Cricus folks, beggers, criminals and other traveling and marginalised people of various ethnicities in the german speaking world. But also "mauschln" doesnt come from rotwelsh either, so that's super irrelevant. Just google before you comment, its not difficult.

    I have studied linguistics, I have read Victor Klemperer's LTI, but I have never heard that the word mauscheln has any relation to antisemitism. I assume that 99 per cent of Germans don't know anything about the origin of it, either. Getting from "mauscheln" to "Moishe" and vice versa is pretty impossible for any German. It is weak proof that Germans are antisemitic, let alone Kanzler Scholz, who might be dull and boring, but certainly not antisemitic. Sorry, this is pretty far fetched. You are giving Germans too much credit for their linguistic competence. Being raised speaking Yiddish, you certainly are juggling those nuances far better than us. Love the dog, btw

    • @stefankotz2242
      @stefankotz2242 17 днів тому +3

      That is the accepted etymology just start with german wikipedia on the word and you see the relevant sources for this history. I am not sure studying ligustics means you know the etimolgy of every word in the German language, so that's a weird thing to bring up. I don't think that scholz is an antisemite but I do think its legitimate to point out if he is using vocabulary with antisemitic history. Shouldn't really happen with professional speech writers and all. This is is not casual talking.
