They show these (Dogville Comedies) occasionally on Turner Classics as fillers. Surreal! I read that they used wires to make the dogs walk upright. Also quite a bit of puppetry going on. These were made on a budget of about six dollars and would be outlawed today. Imagine Catville Comedies?
I would never in my wildest days think that this was cruelty-to-animals? I used to watch these sometime ago and along with the Our Gang comedies in The Little Rascals totally innocent but you know how softies are with their feelings to get hurt though the poor animals are being mistreated I really doubt it but there was one particular episode and I don't think it was these unless I haven't seen it was based on World War 1 fighter pilots and soldiers I cannot find it but it was so neat and I really like watching these with these animals acting and there's nothing computer-generated it's all real stuff but anyway anybody gets offended by this is really stupid
I have been looking for the movie clip of the female dog taking the witness stand to plead not guilty, but then confesses to the crime of murder. TCM had it on this week, but they never put them on their shows from their network ap so you can enjoy each. We came in late in seeing that particular movie clip I am addressing and I have no clue as to what it was called. Although I have seen most on UA-cam, I can't locate that particular one to enjoy. Unfortunately, some of them are actually just pieces and not a full reel of the movie short. Dogville comedies were great.
This clip is from “ College Hounds”. Thank you for sharing.

These are called Dogville Shorts that were on TCM. This particular episode is meant to spoof a Buster Keaton film.
Its called "Nothing can stop me now" College hounds ep. 2 from 1929.
Do you know where I can find the whole video?

This is the 2nd half or so of “Hold That Line”. Red Mange is the star player on Airedale football team, but has been locked in a closet..
Dogville Comedies, done in 1929-1931, series of nine movie parodies.
Thanks!
