All you people asking for torque specs...... This is a general video, all cars have different specs that vary greatly. Check Google for your cars specs.
These bearings can be removed and can also be pressed into the hub component shown here. When pressing the bearing into the hub, A good tip is freezing the bearing before hand. the cold will shrink it enough to fit it into the warm hub, you will need a bearing press. If you can’t picture this , just buy it whole like this mechanic here .
thanks for including the out-take at the end, your a good sport!
In the brake repair video, Mr Reed stated that the brake assembly should not be left to dangle from the brake line hose. I would have thought he would have suspended the brake assembly from the frame with a wire or something. Bad practice!
yah i noticed that too...
At 8:40 you can see the park brake cable. It is resting on that not the softline.
He did that on purpose 😂 to see if you're listening 😂
Excellent Video , well done could not of done it better myself ! .
Awsome helped alot it wasnt actually as hard as I thought it was going to be.
A great video. Thanks for posting.
Helped me a lot! Thanks!
Great vid thanks for sharing
great video!
For those of you who do not have an air compressor for the cutting wheel; they make cutting disk attachments that work with a regular drill and the disk is smaller which would make this job a little bit easier.
VI RINGRAZIO E' UNA WONDERFULL LEZIONE
amazing video
good stuff, thank you ...
Awesome video, but..... it would have been great if you could supply the torque setting for the locknut?

Excellent
How to replace front wheel bearing on 2010 Nissan Sentry.
What is the socket size and torque setting on the axle nut? Can I use any other common tool to remove the dust cap without damaging it? Which begs the question if the cap isn't damaged can't it just be reused? Great video! Thanks.
Rod Swartz I just did a beetle the other day and I think it was a 32mm 12point socket
Dan, did you just left the caliper hanged by the brake hose? Can see clearly how you secure it?
22:28 Why do not you tell how many ( nm ) torque-tightening the center bolt ?

I have the same car and need to replace the hub and bearing. I ordered both and have them on hand right now. The hub and bearing are individual assemblies. I imagine there's a certain type of press for installing the bearing into the hub and onto the spindle. Do you know what type of press is required for this? The fitment appears to be extremely tight. In fact, I'm unsure if I might need to cold soak the spindle and possibly heat the bearing to facilitate installation. Any advice would be appreciated by anyone with experience on this car. Thanks.
I hope next time you'll add some torque specification in newton meter...
I have a lot of play at 6 and 12 but not 3 and 9 oclock. IS this still bearing issue or some other issue?
What should i do if i do cut into the spindle?
what is the torque for 2005 getta 1.8L rear bearing
letting the caliper hang by the cord?
mine was completely fucked, sounded like metal dragging on the road and when it got pulled off all the balls fell out because there was no keeper left
Nice video, but you did not tell what the torque spec and bearing load sequence is...
Excellent video shame about the bald tyre .
My rear bearings have over 200k miles. still solid. factory bearings.
guaranteed crusty and need to be changed
@@Alex-fm9bv doubt it.
@@onavianva You could be right. I live in chicago land area so it's different here with the salt on the roads
If I had done the wheel nuts/studs up like that, without a torque wrench
in my job, I would have been sacked!!!
You need ear defenders for grinding metal i did that and my ears hurt
18:42 you took the old seal off but didnt put in a new one. Is it not necessary for the new wheel bearing?
Torque spec should be 175nm for the new nut
MrDuc1979 I think that was just for the old bearing, I just installed both rear wheel bearings on my jetta and the old seals just dangled there. They were actually useful to take off the innar race that suck on
Pic of cake. Just one thing. I did not see you wipe or wash off the metle or trash off the spindle . cutting with grinder. THANK YOU
My first jetta.
If memory serves me, it's a 30mm socket. I could be wrong, just to lazy to walk out to the garage and check!
The torque stick poem:
Volksies are red and Hondas are Blue, GM is gray and Chryslers are too. ...and Ford.
Trucks are white... But I don't trust those boogers and still use a torque wrench.
The end.
Jeff
What socket is he using????
+Artur Aleksandrov 30mm for rear. 32mm for front.
they are the same for front and back. 30 mm 12 point
Correction: Some vehicles have 32mm front axle nuts. I was not aware there are some with 30mm fronts.
Omar is Rad ot this they are the same, and there is no set size for them could be anything really usually gm uses 34mm
You are wrong. There is a set size. GM has nothing to do with VW. I understand when I made my correction that this vehicle is 30mm all around. However not all VWs (MK4) are 30 all around.
That's the easiest vehicle to change wheel bearing especially rear can you please do honda front wheel bearing 😂
shut your face, u dont know what your talking about, the old roller bearing can last easly up to 150k or more, it depends on how you mount it, what grease you use and what sort of road it gets to drive on, there is no differense, the only difference is that one can be replaced has a part and the ball bearing cant... ohh and allso, if the roller bearing wears out, but u still have to drive some 100 km or even more, u can just tighten it and drive on, it sure is a better choice for a long tripping car, my roller bearings have done 110 k , and the left front is dieng, has i dont have the tools nor time to get it replaced i have driven an extra 1000 km with it, and its still kicking some ass, ball bearing would have allready by now fail totally and the wheel would have fallen off, dont talk shit when you know you are talking shit and someone out there knows the truth and will set you straight !
What a penis. If you can do better, why not make a video and show us?
Hopefully...murd the turd doesn't have any kids! His sister had to help him type his comment & you can see her education level. Lowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
