It shouldn't be forgotten that the Chartist demands were largely achieved in the Australian colonies in the 1850's. A lot of Chartists were sent as convicts.

You exported all the leaders….. sorry …..transported them to Australia. Their children made sure from 1902….Australia had 5 of the 6 points. Australia had universal suffrage from 1902 ( yes including women) and had the 8hr sleep/8hr play and 8 hr work as a fundamental value. Irish and English political prisoners finally found fertile ground in the land of the cast out.
