You should pick another Doctor love he isn’t the best.. I also had a deposit with him but found out later that he isn’t a good doctor and doesn’t have the best bedside manner..
I know you said we shouldn’t convert all of our money at once and to have some cash but is it safe to walk around with more than 100 American dollars on you in Santo Domingo or punta Cana? I’m visiting both and just want to be mindful. Also were you readily able to find places to convert outside of the airport? Thank you!
In Santo Domingo you prob won’t be walking much. If u visit a bad neighborhood it’s good to keep everything valuable in the car at a paid lot (usually like 50 cents) otherwise yea, it’s relatively safe but like anywhere else, don’t walk with thousands of cash, don’t flash your stuff. Use your judgement, you’re in a poor country. Tourist areas are safe but also can be hot spots for theft (clubs in punta cana, sd, etc) but no this isn’t a savage place lol. U won’t get bum rushed in the street.
You can perfectly travel with more than $10k in cash. Stop misinforming the public. You just have to declare it at the airport. I traveled with $30k to buy land in the DR.

What you didn’t say is that when declaring money in the airport you must file a TAX FORM REPORTING THIS MONEY TO THE GOVERNMENT which most do not want to do. Thank you for your comment.

When I went I didn’t feel unsafe but I wore a money belt & carried a pocket book with nothing in it..
