I would have loved to be on that flight. I can only imagine the rush of the engines at full throttle whilst the crew had the brakes full on and then taking off at such a steep angle. Do all flights from LCY take off at such angles?

Pretty much. This was a RWY27 departure, requiring a minimum climb rate of between 413' per NM to 516' per NM, which equates to an angle of 6.8 to 8.5 degrees, which is very steep. Consider a standard approach glide slope is 3* and here it's 5.5*. MSAs straight ahead are over 2,000ft from an airfield with 19' of elevation. It's one of the most strictly controlled pieces of airspace in the UK.
