Part 2 of the fish room/gallery tour. Yes!!!!!
Love seeing what you have going on in all those tanks. Thanks Jason!
Pseudomugil paskai are not actually in the hobby. The originals that were collected in the 80s from a very small location didn't get established. Soon after, a new set of pseudomugil were brought in and miss identified as paskai but were later named luminatus. Those took off and all of the "paskai" people see for sale now days are actually luminatus.
your videos helped me decide which tank to buy for my mother! just wanted to say thanks for providing your expertise FREE for people like me! 🐠💕
Thank you so much! I hope your mom enjoys the new tank!
Jason you made me giggle. Long ago I saw George Carlin live. One of the things he said was "why do people call it a hot water heater? If it was hot water you wouldn't need a heater ", lol. 😂
😀
Excellent!
Nice
Good to see the fish room again!! The 125 was my favorite with the big boy and all the different Cichlids and Silver Dollars in it! Makes me want a bigger tank so bad but got to be patient and wait my time is coming. Always love seeing the fish you have and your enthusiasm and knowledge you bring showing them!! Have a good rest of your weekend!!
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this tour of your fish room. Thanks for sharing with us! You have some great fish for aquashella!
Thank you!
The Volcano Bitterling tank is amazing! It looks like you dropped a camera into a stream. Thank you for the tour!
Thank you : -)
I totally want empire gudgeons but no space bc of Apistos 😢 Beatiful tour!! Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
I would love a blue-eye paskai rainbow care guide! Paskai and luminatus need so much more attention and there is very little information on youtube
I hope you keep the odd vieja/mbuna/rainbow cichlid 125 community tank going. Before the fish gallery setup, the Tiliapia/Oscar setup with all of the different sized African cichilds, and the Frontosa/Geo. Altifrons/Bala Shark tanks were my favorites. They were the definition of a community tank. 😂
Ya, that 125 is a very weird combo! : -)
@@PrimeTimeAquatics But liked you mentioned, it also helps that they were together for a long time.
Awesome
Always love seeing your fish room, especially the quarantine tanks! It made me feel a little better seeing that I'm not the only one who has issues getting in new chilis. Do you have any suggestions for helping out the micro rasboras when they arrive after shipping?
I did have to use Maracyn 1 and 2. The rest stabilized after that.
Common birchadi are so expensive in the uk, so are shellies. Thanks for showing us the low boy with the shellies. It's still my favourite tank. Lucky guys at aquashella to be able to buy such beautiful fish from u. Not jealous at all😂 rainbow shiners when they colour up are breathtaking
I think the fish room looks great quarantine or not. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Those blue eyes that you call Paskai are Pseudomugil luminatus. Pseudomugil paskai are blue and look similar to gertrudae. Luminatus were misnamed as paskai in the past, and it hasn’t been corrected yet by every business, which has led to the confusion.
I feel your pain trying to move your multis and Brichardi. I currently struggle to even give away offspring from my Saulosi, Rustys, and previously yellow Labs, Socolofi, and yellow and white tailed Acei. Seems African cichlids are "out" in my area. Corys, killies & livebearers are what people want now.
Put the Saulosi on Aquabid!! They are impossible to find and I have tons of people asking for them!
Albino feather fin
Love the tour. I finally have a quarantine tank. It’s a game changer for fish keeping. Currently raising up baby neons and albino corys. Do you know what causes the issue with fish swimming vertical? I had one recently pass that was doing that in my quarantine tank. . Any cure?
There can be a lot of causes but it all stems from a problem controlling bouyancy. I've never had one live after doing that.
I got my multis for $35 canadian each, if was the first time my lfs got them in in over a year they were ordered in for one of their more wealthy customers but they didnt end up taking them, 8 months later the price dropped to $16 a fish because everyone who bought then have been bringing back the babies
That sounds about right. 😀
What are the reddishrainbows in with the heckeli? Coomoy? I've tried 10 times to figure it out. Those would be great in a tank with boesmani and lacustris!
Kurumoi
your fish room is awesome !
can you tell me what the ph of your water is ? I notice you keep a wide variety of fish that prefer different ranges of PH .
have you found this affects the fish ?
do you buffer different tanks for different ph ?
Great question - all of our tanks are around a pH of 8 and GH and KH around 10 degrees. We only bring in fish that can do well in those parameters : -)
I know you're all about the fish but can we meet your dogs one day? 😊
Sure 😀
It's odd hearing how common birchardi are there I've never seen one person.
Your fish room is now a medication room and can bookcase hold 10 gallon or 20 gallon tank
Wow. Impressive. What do you do with quarantine tanks when fish are ill, treated and then come out? How do you make sure the quarantine tank won't make the next batch sick?
If they have been treated properly - nothing. Should be ok for the next group.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics thanks! What if there were no survivors?
Hey Jason, quick question. I have a 75 gallon heavily planted tank. I have 1 scalare angelfish, 15 neon tetras, and 12 rummynose. Recently I added 1 electric blue acara and ive seen some aggression between the two during and after feeding time. What do you recommend? Should I add some more angelfish and or EBA's? Should I get some denison barbs or rainbow fish as dither fish to reduce the aggression?
You could try adding a few more EBA but there is no guarantee they will get along later? Either that or remove the EBA?
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I did end up removing the EBA..for now. I planned on putting them back together in the 75 once it grows a bit more. I’m just stuck in a pickle and not sure what to do. Like do I add more angelfish AND EBA? Keep 1 angel and add 2 more EBA? Wouldn’t they acaras fight each other?
I've been trying to get Chilis forever! Why are they so hard to find?? I found a couple online retailers that have them but it something like 8/fish. That's crazy. Anyone know of a supplier in Florida??
They seem to be very weak lately. People might be ordering them, but they’re having more issues during shipment to wholesalers and pet stores.
👀Do most people at these swaps sell wholesale fish instead of breeding and raising for sale?
At our swaps I’d say it’s still 60-65% breeding?
Show your star sapphire cichlids
I haven’t had any in years, unfortunately.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I have a group of 3 I saw yours and wanted some of my own, what happened to your group
Your sponge filters look very dirty. Are they really effective like this?
Actually, the sponge filters are fine. We clean them weekly.
Dirty sponge filters are still surprisingly effective, i havent cleaned one of my sponge filters in like 4 months it has algae and monte carlo growing out of it the tank has a small bioload but its still keeping the tank clean and the water clear
