  • It's rare that we feature a 12-string guitar on our channel (mostly because we don't get them too often, and they sell immediately), but with a 1965 Rickenbacker 360/12 on hand... in the Fireglo finish... we had to do it! This beautiful guitar is in all original condition, and fantastic condition at that - from the Toaster pickups, frets, and dual layer pickguard this guitar is 60's jangle perfection. We'll let Jay gush about the guitar before handing it off to Joey for a demo through a wonderful little Fender '65 Princeton Reverb reissue amp!

I always enjoy watching these videos with Jay Boone. He's so happy and into what he's talking about. He seems so joyful and proud to get to handle and play and sell this equipment. Really inspiring. What a great personality!

Check about the .0047uF in serie with the brige pickup. That's the real secret jangle sound. That capacitor was removed in modern models

I own a 2014 fireglo Ricky 360 6 string, would LOVE to have this 12 string to park beside it....

Imagine if this guitar was in tune, and the guy played all the tunes, that made this wonderfull piece of wood loved all over the world, long long time before this guy was born.

Old Ricks sound much better than the ones made nowadays, not because of the wood over the years but because of the circuit harness. The 0.0047 capacitor did it all, I will never understand why the factory decided to remove it. It's like changing the vocal chords that made you stand out in the first place, you'll never ever gonna make it up for it. Rickenbacker shot on its own foot.

Fortunately, it's not that difficult to wire the appropriate capacitor back into the circuit. Also quite easy to replace the Hi Gain pickups with the Toasters if desired.

I wonder what George Harrisons Rick 360/12 #cm-106 is worth?????? The Beatles secret weapon!!!!

Priceless probably. Same with Tom Petty/Mike Campbells 620/12. Tom used it on the cover of Dam the Torpedo's and probably on every Heartbreaker, Solo and Wilbury album after. How do you put a price on something like that? I'm sure some expert can but how do you quantify a value? These instruments are historical Rock n Roll artifacts IMO.

Brass nut is not original on this guitar. Owing to being so narrow, original Rick 12s are very uncomfortable to play below the third fret with normal-sized adult fingers which has put off many from owning them. Some capo them on the 1st or 2nd fret and tune down 1/2 or 1 step to get to a wider part of the neck and relieve the string tension a bit.
The 330/360 12 neck is exactly the same as on the 6-string 330/360 and was not made stronger or wider for the 12. Why? Ask them.
They do sound wonderful, like nothing else.

Beautiful guitar, but Americans need to learn how to pronounce the name

If you know and love Tom Petty, then you need to pronounce it correctly Rick In Backer, not Rick In Bacher

@@docscout then you’ve missed my point, which is people take things to seriously e.g. How to say Rickenbacker properly, when it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of the universe. Anyway, best wishes.
