Finneas has 8 Grammy’s under his belt which is actually one more than Billie. So idk I think he’s got a good amount of recognition for his work as a song writer and producer.

He has a ton of recognition in the industry, it's just accepted that all but the most prolific producers are all but anonymous to the public. But he's been getting tons of offers to work with various musicians to help them build an album, it's not like his role isn't recognized.
Being super well known within the industry but more obscure to the general public is basically the ideal outcome for most musicians. He secured his future AND he doesn't get harassed by paparazzi every time he leaves his house

Just for the record, it's a misconception that ONLY boys' voices change with puberty. Most girls' voices go through a change during puberty, and can mature and deepen to a more resonant tone and go through changes.

      @poralitical 3 роки тому +13

It's also common for girls to raise their voice so they're speaking more in their upper range. If you're a professional singer, they tell you not to do that because it creates microscopic strain on the vocal cords. If you go back and look at people like Ariana Grande/Demi Lovato/etc. They also dropped their voice a bit when they started doing singing full time (and probably taking professional voice coaching seriously for the first time).

@@starrjump she didn’t call her fans embarrassing lmao. She liked a post that was talking ab how it’s embarrassing that fans comment about things when they know nothing about them. That’s a HUGE jump
Edit: also the racist things were singing along to a song that had the c slur in it. And another that had “coon” in it. (A slur against black ppl.) I didn’t even know coon was a slur until last year, and I’m black. She looked to be about 12 maybe 13?

Can I just ask for the perspective that she also had Invisalign for a lot of those middle years? I’m not saying she doesn’t have a bit of a different accent, I just think it very well may have contributed at least a small bit. And I know when I had a retainer I talked completely differently (again not defending or accusing literally just a thought)

    To address the “blaccent comments”
I think it’s bc during that time she had a black bf and hung out with a/ LOT of his friends and other black ppl. Plus she has said herself that she takes a lot of inspo from black artists. As a black person (ONE black person. No I do not speak for the whole community) I don’t mind ppl using aave when they aren’t black. As long as they don’t use it; for an aesthetic, to mock black ppl, to seem uneducated, or to seem “more gen-z.” (Aave isn’t Gen-Z slang. Stop calling it that 🤮)
Billie has been outspoken about (some) black issues, so I don’t think that she’s using it to be “cooler.” And, again, she has spent time with black ppl who use aave, so naturally she’d start to pick up how they talked.
We’re all mosaics. We take pieces of ppl and incorporate them into ourselves. Rather it be conscious or subconscious. That’s what happened

This isn’t a great analysis. As I grew up my voice got deeper, and as An adult my naturally deeper voice can become a lot higher when I am happy, excited, nervous ect. The depth of the voice does not constitute a “blaccent.” Other behaviors however do contribute to this

If we went back to the 90's when granmys were still given to the best artist of that time period. How is it that a heavily effects imbued billie ellish or Olivia Rodrigo have a grammy period? Just because they are popular? When Brittney spears first came out with “baby one more time.” It was phenomenon, even larger then “bad guy”. But she wasn't given a grammy for her popularity. How is it that Mariah and Celine dion have only 5 grammys. But billie already has 8 of them in her 3rd year. It is because of it being rigged. How does Beyonce have more grammys then Whitney Houston? Hell even Blue Ivy has one. Thetr are legendary artists who havent won a single grammy. It really is a fix, the younger fans won't ever see it. But if we award artists based on complete and utter talent. Billie may get a few MTV awards. But a grammy sweep? It comes down to her manager campaigning for her. If everyone around the world voted on who gets what. We would see a lot of talented singers not known to the current generation. Coming out of nowhere to claim the wins. I do not much care for her music. I believe most anyone reading this comment can sing like her with proper training. Just get you a vocal coach and priducer/ song writer and you are there. Mainstream does not equate to talent. This is harsh I know. A lot of stans will not like this assessment. But I implore you to explore the past in musical history. How can a masterpiece like stairway to heaven or bohemian rhapsody compare to “all I ever wanted” or “drivers license”?
From a vocalist stand point. If you strip away all the effects and instrumentals. Those with a very keen ear would wonder what is so special about this cookie cutter artist. Olivia and Billie are very popular and came from wealth. Their experiences are inauthentic and it is the crazed fans acting like they are greater than the Beatles or Michael Jackson.

Wait who said they were better than the Beatles and Michael Jackson?? I think that u shouldn't pay too much attention to award shows coz it'll just make u annoyed. I know u commented this 2 years ago but I hope you give Billie and Olivia's new albums a try!

All I can say abt their Grammy win is they got the award coz their music is actually good, relatable, and yes very popular to the generation today or maybe a few people from the older generation. Music is very broad people like it because they like it.

Her voice has changed just like anyone else in their teenage years. Maybe most people aren't putting montages of themselves together to notice how their speech changes over time. Also, the mics were different kinds and placed in different places. Study the mic proximity effect. This is not an accurate analysis.

It's also normal to change how you speak when you become a professional singer. Most women will speak in their upper range, but it creates unnecessary strain to do that which they can't afford since they're already fighting a battle of time before the vocal nodes start appearing.
If you look at any pop star before they became full time singers and after, there's usually a slight drop & relaxing of how they speak, becuase that's where your vocal cords are the closest to a resting state.
