Thank you for taking time to teach us your thought process. The last painting would have sold well in my state Hawaii. Love learning from you and your calm demeanor
So glad you support a variety of thrift stores. Regardless of anyone's personal opinion regarding prices at these thrift stores, it is never acceptable to use your UA-cam platform to destroy the stores reputation or cause injury to the business. What CLL did to community aid is unacceptable. Just move on to a different store, but insulting the integrity and effort of those working at, donating to and buying from community aid is not right. Thank you for being so kind everywhere you go Karen!!
With all of the craziness going on in the world right now, I am thankful to have discovered your channel. It really helps clear my mind and relax! Not to mention learn some cool stuff about....well.....some cool stuff! Thanks Karen!
I’ve started watching shelle too..so glad to have found you both... I really admire what you do Karen and am considering trying my hand in this business..,.
Late to the game but that unicorn was a wine bottle holder. It looks like its drinking it when the bottle is in there. I would have grabbed that in a heart beat. Many unicorn collectors out there. I have a parrot wine bottle holder :)
I live close by you Karen and was at the meet up you hosted. Thanks again for that. :) I was recently in the Community Aide by Lowes. As I was checking out I over heard one of the employees saying that she had to check comps of Beanie Babies they had. I about died laughing. So, yes I think they do look up items there. I normally don't have good luck there so I usually don't go.
@@lavenderclothesline I do know of two places that I don't think anyone goes too that I would love to tell you about sometime! Both about 20 minutes from you. :)
I loved the wine/gold/green swirl glass vase looking lamps. I think they had their orig. lampshades as well. Might have been Murano...or something very high end and vintage! They were on the top shelf....
You are sooo lucky...There is an abundance of stuff at that Goodwill .In my neck of the woods it does not look that good.Yet, I am still thankful that the stores are open and running.😄 People seem to forget that the places were closed for month..😶😃 Whether you are Reseller or just enjoying the hunt for treasures..😉I am thankful for that.
Hi Karen. Your voice is so calming and relaxing just like your daughter Mellissa. Its so relaxing watching both of you. Love the Lily of the Valley set. Was gorgeous. A shame it was damaged. Yes i agree there are a lot of swans evetywhere. Everyone is hauling them. Unicorn kind of strange. Thank you for taking us along.
Maneki-Neko, Beckoning Cat was the white ceramic kitty figurine. Super cute! Depending on which paw is raised and in what position holds various meaning. I’m sure you’ve seen plenty! Arm typically motions. Love your stuffs! 💜
Thanks, I do good with shoes. Lately, I have had great luck at garage sales more than Goodwill lately. Crazy things priced at .50 and sell for 25.00 etc. Thanks and I always enjoy your videos and what to look for.
I would've picked up Lily of the valley set, there lots of ways to display it without showing the flaws and away from the landfill. Thanks for sharing.
Hello" my name is Margaret, I'm from south Wales G.B. your a lovely woman and you take your time to show what the charity shops have. Slow is GOOD. I love your camera action, I do watch other second hand sellers, but it's a bit shaky, or fast, thank you. X
Wow can't imagine pushing multiple carts at once...I thought you checked out between each load. Lol ...when I'm at my goodwill people always complain of the customers with loaded carts are resellers.. and I don't understand why it bothers them so much
Because it’s taking advantage of donations and taking away from people in need who rely on thrift stores. I don’t agree with reselling for a profit but I still enjoy Karen’s videos, so.
@@theoboegoddess That's so closed minded. People donate- they feel good, clear out their stuff and get a tax write-off. The charity gets free stuff to sell. People buy the stuff, then sell it, they make money too. Why is this a bad thing??? Everybody wins! How do you know that the people buying the items to sell aren't in financial dire straights and NEED that money to feed their family or heat their home? Goodwill does not care what you do with the item you buy, as long as their people work and they're getting income from the sales. Haven't you read and seen stories about Goodwill's dumping donations simply because the just don't have enough room? I say kudos to people who resell. That's entrepreneurship at it's finest. It's the American Way.
Ty for taking us along. I’m in the Harrisburg area and our community aid never has anything of value. I hardly ever find anything there. Goodwill, on the other hand, has some good things.
the boring clear glass LOL I feel the same way. The clear glass aisle is my least favorite. I wanted to try and learn a little more about it but there is just so much that isn't really much of anything if that makes sense. Thank you for the shout out! ♥
The white ceramic cat with its right paw up is found in just about every Chinese/ Asian establishment such as nail salons restaurants etc. I have always wondered about that cat,. I think it for good luck/business. Thought that might interest you . Lol
Our op shops over here have cottoned on. Put the good stuff on Trade Me, our equivalent to EBay. Get more money. We're left with mostly junk. Most stores have appraisers now especially for art, rare books. and jewelry. All the stuff I'm into. The appraisers don't really bother with clothing and shoes though.
Thank you for the LootCrate tip! I literally photographed a cool Tee last night to list today from LootCrate. I'm going to blur the logo on the tag and not mention it in my listing. THANK YOU! I love your tips :)
Wine bottle holder. And they also come in dragon form. also I would have picked up those blue and divided plates platters whatever they were because they are fantastic for cookouts
My mom has a large tree slice with a beautiful picture of Christ. It has to be over 50 yrs old, I cant remember not having it in our house through several moves.
Just for information. The little white cat with the arm up to head was a copy of “lucky cat” they are oriental and the cat’s arm is normally waving. I have seen them at Asian resturaunts, they are to bring good luck and fortune. They are normally red. Just thought you would want to know.
Did you buy the original painting from that was sold in 1945 from Amazon the Philippines or somewhere in that I hope you bought it. Good Luck Thrifting.😊🎉😊
What you're calling book holders are often used to hold picture frames and they are becoming more popular. Perhaps run comps if you find some again, particularly brass ones. ;)
2 guesses about Market Bazaar. Maybe from World Market or Pier 1 ? I loved hearing you talk about your Grandfather. What was that cute name you called him? Awwwww 💙❤️💙
That Spode was my grandma's first picked pattern..20's!! Spode Wicker Lane last time I saw it 15 to 20 a cup on Ebay. Then latter in 40's she got the same off- white Wedgewood Willowweave to mix with it,,I gratefully got that and replaced the one cup for sis later that she broke ..she got the floral Wicker Lane floral Spode. The cream ware is harder to last than their or any true bone china for condition...being uncracked or crazed and have to see up close and personal but that pattern is not as to me as common as Buttercup.
HI Dearest: I'd pick up knife blocks. They are SO expensive otherwise. Mine from Cutco that holds my 40 yr.old Cutco big set was very expensive. You could do so well with those!
Where is your bell notification? Would like to be able to be notified ahead of time that u have uploaded a video..really like your thrifting taste..and of course your channel. Hugs Paulie

The community store sells items from individuals, thrift stores, good will and etc sells from storage units, those who miss payments for storage unit they loose their items, letter the sharks bitting on auction particular storage unit.
"Papouli" is what our grandson, Alexander, calls his grandfather, who is Greek! So you my youtube friend you are a little bit Greek! I enjoyed this video very much because our stores have yet to open.
that little brass book stand at 6:22 might be a plate holder also , or be used as one , if you had it, i'd buy it from you , hard to find brass plate stands
Your videos are so calming and cozy. Really helps, watching during these high anxiety times! Thank you!!
Thanks so much for your encouragement!! 💜
Oh I so agree!
I believe that unicorn was a wine bottle holder
Ohhhh, yes!

I hope they took a look at their outrageous prices after her video and had a think about what their initial purpose was.
Love your thrifting videos. They are so relaxing and quiet not loud and crazy like so many others. So enjoyable.
The cat is as a Japanese cat called Maneki Neko it’s a lucky cat that brings good business to owners . His hand is up to gesture to bring wealth
I was shocked she didn't know this. I feel collectors usually have a better knowledge of other cultures. Thx for helping educate.

The unicorn is a wine bottle holder! Like it's laying down holding the bottle to it's mouth lol!
Sweet
Good job!! I would have never guessed that.
Yes, it is definitely a wine bottle holder. I've sold several of them in different forms. They are a popular item.
Music box was from the movie, Fiddler on the Roof.
Thank you for the shopping videos, since I haven’t been able to go out they are very therapeutic for me. 💕
The painting was a lovely folkish piece in my opinion.
The unicorn holds a bottle of wine, like he's drinking it. 😊

The laying down unicorn holds a wine bottle. We have a Moose one and it looks like the moose is drinking the wine. Fun gift.

I also love Shell Bell she is so freaking cute and down to earth. ☺
Right??? Adorable !
UA-camrs have driven the prices up in thrift stores. I'm not saying stop, I enjoy watching and learning from you and your viewers. Such is life
I think thrift stores have raised their prices because they check comps on eBay. The thrift stores all sell on eBay
I learn a lot from you about hard goods, but love when you do the shoes and go through the names to look for and the clothing as well

The plates that you picked up with the gold hand paintings -Thun is Czechoslovakian porcelain. They would have been good for resale.

I follow Shell Bell also! Just found her about 2- weeks ago! Calming video!

GW stores raise money for their programs; NOT to provide low cost items for those in need.

I'm noticing swans all over the thrifts as well. Little figurines, cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, and art work.

I love the last painting. My mom was from Bamban, Tarlac, Philippines, I would’ve bought it.
Wine bottle holder. And they also come in dragon form. also I would have picked up those blue and divided plates platters whatever they were because they are fantastic for cookouts
I look for the turning pieces of clear glass the ones from 1910-1920?? those make it fun
I loved the art from the Philippines .
I hope you picked up that beautiful lusterware teapot @7:23!

That music box my grandmother owned it is from fiddler on the roof and it came just like that.
Koto is manufactured for Urban Outfitters. That same print sold on eBay for $17.00 in May,

at 10:01 Statue of Lady directly behind 3 Dolphins may be Lladro or Nao from same factory in Valencia, Spain or may just be copy.

Cat with the arm up is a Maneki Neko and he was a planter. He is for Good Fortune with the paw up .

Hi! We've been to well over half of the Keystone Goodwill's, but we don't recognize that location. Which one were you in?
Another great video.
You always need to run comps because the market changes as well
Yes those stores started selling shades separate ,, and taking fennel’s off
Was the unicorn made to hold a bottle of wine?
Your grandpa was Greek?! Was he also Orthodox? Fun!!
Im curious why you skip bells? Not good sellers for you? I saw a few treasures there.
At Goodwill, I like the flag that was framed :-)
I had to laugh at your swan comment. Yes!! They are everywhere!!
on the 3 cups and 2 saucer set at 4:01, couldn't you have sold 2 and 2 , and get rid the extra cup ?
I live in the same area as you. I love thrifting! I have thrifted videos on my channel also.
I know what the laying down Unicorn is.......hideous! Lol 😳😁🤣
I love your videos! I recently started making videos on my channel and I learn so much from yours 🥰
i notice clear glass items are harder to show up in photos in my listings
I would have checked the prices on the metal owl trivet and the Japan piece that looked like a violin tray.
