Extreme Philly Fishing dammm sooonnn bro you are my favorite youtuber and you one good of a fisherman if you ever go to CA in the central area hit me up i could put you on some nice fish tight lines
I use little silicone homemade jigs only one inch long here in Ireland, and they assassinate the perch and trout. A tiny BB split-shot painted chartreuse on the hook finishes it off. Nice tips there though. Always good to add alternatives to your tool set.
That jig is a "Kahara". It's available on Tackle Warehouse. It's important because that jig features a rubber skirt as oppose to silicone making it behave differently in cold water.
Great info in the last few months I’ve started to learn how to fish with a jig . So far I’ve caught s few but lots to learn so thank you for this video!!
Sounds like Bill Murphy's stitching technique.... Find a good bassy spot, anchor your boat there and craw a jig or worm on the bottom- as in one cast take like 5 minutes.... Really, really, slow. That is something Bass do not see often, and giant bass do love it...Bill Murphy would sit in one spot for 6 hours but he knew they would come, and he would catch double digit bass all the time. His book "In pursuit of Giant Bass" is the best information ever written on techniques like this for double digit bass..Thanks for a great video Mike!
I used to fish the Ike's Finesse Jig from Berkley (late 2000's), always caught some bass on tough days. They were a real adjustment for people like me used to fishing big 1/2oz+ jigs on broomstick rods. I wish they still made those finesse jigs, but thankfully I have a handful of them left....for now.
awesome video and even better garage!!!! i have been a fan for years you are one of the most entertaining anglers out there and thanks for making these informative videos
Been using this rig for ages. Here in Texas hill country our water is a little clearer so I've been using a watermelon color micro jig with a little melon/chartreuse colored skirt and a white single tail trailer and all year bass will smash it. Caught some real good lunkers On it. Something about the color contrast between the white and melon+subtle action just makes bass go wild for it
Well done. I am enjoying the format, now that I see the pattern. Do a video on the water, then follow up with a detailed explanation afterwards instead of doing all in one video. Very good information. I hope to put this to use next week.
I'm a South Jersey fisherman and I use a small in line spinner to catch the South Jersey slam but that's not in the winter lol......the fish in Jersey are so hard to catch in winter in my personal opinion....the earliest I go freshwater fishing is like early March or late February. I'm surprised I never seen anyone fishing a micro jig. I'm going to have to try this next winter.
+kushcrumbleshatter1990 im on my highschool bass team and have placed top 20 every tournament this season plus have been invited to fish the high school flw open this year you probably fish your home lake every other week with your lil john boat when your wife lets you....."buddy"
+kushcrumbleshatter1990 i also have sponsors ha ha dont get me started i get money and free fishing equipment when im in 9th grade....your probably 38 and still fish your little home lake john boat tournaments haha
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Was at Dick's Sporting goods browsing the closeout rack and they had Eco Pro tungsten "micro jigs" on close-out. They look exactly like what he has in this video. Same hook, same head, etc. Pretty sure they're not a sponsor. xD
Ice fishing and winter hair jig tieing in NE PA, I fully vouch for this technique. Dead sticking bottom is the only way to get largemouth to eat in winter aside from live bait. We use Deer, Maribu and synthetic micro hairs here, generally in leach pattern Wht Minnow/Blk/Olive/Brwn leach patterns river and lake for this area. A little shaking or clacking upon the drop but then totally kill it, if you over "call" you turn that bass off. When we ice fish bass areas, when dropping into a fresh hole we "call" by pinging on slack line and gently let it rest on bottom no slack, if a bass is near it will hit within 15 seconds, if not then you wont get a bass in that hole and you can move onto suspended techniques for other species in the hole.
+Tracy L ^^Ice bass can be taken suspended as well, with dead stick vertically but seems like too much effort over using the bottom. Also, lake Smallmouth in 100% mood will take micro white rabbit jigs being worked irratically like you do for panfish, that is extremely rare to get ontop of a school in that mood during winter. 99% of the time dead stick is the only way.
Found them on the bottom easter sunday 2hrs after waisting my time tossing jerks, lipless, squares and spinners. Caught them on a 2in grubs/ 1/6oz head. Fishing clear mountain lakes. I can relate.
+ Zack Wilson. In a word "Shoplifting"!. If you get your technique down, you can end up with as much shit as Ike. But he's still a beginer compared to the likes of Karl "The lure God" White. Who the furkin durkin is Karl White!. He's the guy with the worlds biggest fistackle collection. Lure collection valued at 3 million dollars, and reel collection valued at 2.million. He spent a lifetime collecting every known vintage lure. He tracked down the very first Skeeter bass boat off the production line made in 1948, then found #2 #3 #4 . Imagine owning every Heddon, South Bend, Creek Chub and so on. Some of the boxes on the early lures are worth thousands of dollars and are works of art in themselves. And he bought them all, no sponser freebies, just a man that loves fishing and vintage lures and he ended up with a collection that nobody even comes close to. He could have broke up the collection and sold it all, He would have made a lot more than he originally paid for his collection. But he and his wife Bev, decided to keep the collection together. So they bought a huge building in Branson MO and had it converted into 80 seperate sections to display the rarest of the rare. Many of the antique lures might be one of only 3 known to exist. He has on display an ultra rare Snyder reel, one of 3 that is complete and working. It was the first casting reel ever built. Just owning every collectable Heddon or Paw Paw lure is something only a few ever achieve. But owning every rare lure is staggering. If you love the sport of fishing and rare lures, check out the "History of fishing museum" . You will realise that Ike or any tournament pro, has a fraction of what some collectors own. So hit those lure stores like a one man crime wave. You too can own a pile of plastic . You might have to wait some time for them to be of collector interest, like the original Storm Wiggle warts some colours are selling for a hundred times more than the price they cost when new. To me they are a modern moulded plastic fishing lure, with the same collector appeal of a punch in the face. So i just fish with them. Today the Japanese make the best lures on the planet. They also make a lot of handcrafted wooden lures with glass eyes, aimed at collectors. They are every bit as nice as the American wooden lures from the early 1900's.

I always laugh when I hear the northern bass fisherman say that a 3-5 lb. Largemouth is a "giant". My biggest was a 9 lb. bass I caught on Memorial Day this year and my PB before that was 7 lb. Still looking for that 10+!!!
Winter time and spring time is the only time to fish winter time ain't hard at all dead of summer fish dont want to bite especially during a drought just forget it
Oh, hell yeah...I am getting that Micro Jig. No doubt.

Yo dude I'm so ready to go try that out, thank you...
Luv this jig. Use it all the time. Never fails. Besides bass, I've had perch, channel cats and crappie and carp hit these things as well.
Nice!

Being a Ca. transplant in NJ I need all the help I can get with these Jersey bass lol. Great videos btw
The bitsy bug + the zoom Fat albert, Is an amazing combo to catch everything in the water

Those are bad ass, defiantly gonna grab some.

Gangsta beard makes for good fishing Mike ! Word..
And them glasses look slick
Great videos, Great Tips! Thanks!
I bought for of these micro jigs for crappie in the winter/spring down south. Plan is to skip them under docks.
Awesome video man
Thanks Spencer!
thanks for the tip
I don't think he names the jig as it probably doesn't sponsor him. Yet you can look up microjigs on TW and there's three models.
Liked, Two thumbs up Ike thanks bro!
You said beat shad but showed grass pig. Great vid!
It would be nice if you added where or from whom one can get those jigs Mike. Bass pro shop or eBay does not carry those since there new custom baits.
Awesome!!
thanks Mike 👍🎣🎣
Can you vertical jig a micro jig like that? Basically use it through a hole in the ice.
The movement of the boat is called set and drift.
What if you're using a microjig from shore? As a bank fisherman it'd be great if you took a second to talk about that occasionally. Thanks!
I havent explored south jersey. Any fishing spot recommendations?
I bet a roboworm zipper grub would be killer for this technique.
I use those on the New River. With the current, just cast and jig. Smallmouth tear it up
well who makes em ?
+Douglas deininger keitech makes on called the tungsten mono spin I love them did very well with them this winter
I live in Levittown and fish right after work in sj. I tried to find these jigs bit can't find em online
keitech tungsten mono spin jig are my favorite. I did very good with them this winter
Ok gotta get me SOME.
how do you get all those lures .... from sponsors?
the ones behind him, but he has spent thousands of his own money since he was a kid
I guess what I am saying is he is an experienced fisherman who put his time heart soul and money into fishing, won a ton of tournaments and here he is

What's the brand of jig
I live in NJ! Whats a central Jersey Slam?
what brand of jig do you use? I can't find this exact jig anywhere.
Adam Kain, he says, this is the "Missle" 1/4oz. mini flipping jig...(not hard to find, type in Missle baits and it comes right up on the screen.)
Wendy Brown awesome! thanks!
That wasn't the Micro jig. That was the jig he used in comparison to the 1/4 oz. Missle mini flipping jig.
The Micro jig was 1/16 oz.
thanks and nice name ;)
Cool I know how it's like the pickerel bleed every where
I can’t find that jig anywhere
what brand jig is that?
