I recommend having 2 farms. One is the race all the stuff farm. The other is just a farm where everything goes slow and you just do what you want like you lucked out and hit the lottery and grandpa left you a farm and you need to get out of the stress. Which is handy right now. Manage that farm knowing the game never ends really. Just chill.
You don't need to min/max stardew valley, you can just play to have a mental break from the world. Spend your days just walking around, talk to NPCs, look at the pretty pixel art, enjoy all the music, sit down at the saloon, you don't need to be always striving toward any goal, there's always next year to catch that fish or finish a bundle. You just do you, and relax. That is what is so special about Stardew Valley compared to a lot of other games. You can just chill with no pressure.
Stardew would benefit from more automation coupled with some sort of end game that makes you want to keep playing. The issue right now is that there are very clear goals and objectives to reach and once you have done them all, you basically have zero reason to continue playing. The money you have will keep going up, but the NPC dialog never changes, events never change, crop choices never change or even matter anymore. All you can do is redesign your farm to give it a pretty, aesthetically pleasing layout and then basically quit the game because there is no reason to keep playing. It's kind of sad really. Many games provide a constant challenge of pressure to keep you going, but Stardew lacks that, so you just hit the end and you're done.
@@TheDrexxus make your own goals. Some of mine are to take every npc to a movie, obtain every hat in the game, make win/jelly out of every possible item you can. All I can say to this is Egads!!! Even if I was on a PC (I'm on mobile) I cannot even remotely begin to imagine playing Stardew Valley this way. I would hate it as you are ignoring all the good things about it - most importantly being part of the in-game community. I am at the end of my third year and still have not been to the Skull Cavern once but I do have full hearts with almost everyone (including Krobus, the Dwarf, Sandy and the Wizard). I will have everyone at full hearts in another few weeks or so. I enjoy my regular interactions with the villagers and the Community Center is complete so they are happy and so is Grandpa (I have four candles and the daily iridium statue from him). I am also at full hearts with all of my animals including my cat. It is going to take me a long time to earn a million and that is fine as I play Stardew Valley to relax and feel good, not to stress out which is exactly what would happen if I had no in game goal other than making money. (Those crops you are ignoring can be turned into cooked dishes that make excellent gifts for the villagers also.) I would never want to be focused solely on making money in real life or in any virtual life. When you do that, you miss out on what makes life with living.
Clay farming is actually most likely to be patched. CA watches Tooshis streams and has mentioned that he does not like the idea of abusing clay pattern for gold.
I kinda like it, requires precision, at a very high speed. Stardew is not a very mechanical game (but I still suck at actually hitting the right tile/not overshooting when switching tools), so it adds a bit more risk to a speedrun, and it's yet another mechanic that can lead to a restart.
Animation cancel was obviously put on purpose in the game, exactly to (since aparently the game doesn t already cater to a lot of people) to give speedrunners something to play with.
