@Quraysh القريش Extremely Interesting that they don't see sub-Saharan Africans as family/brothers n sisters. I mean mixing as mixing with other races; but in regards to that it, would be a couple generations back for Somali/Ethiopians, so maybe no recent White blood, but dating back, yes. From my research. The phenotype of Ethiopians/Somali's used to look exactly like West Africans with broad/flat nose, it's where West Africans get their look from, however due to race mixing, Ethiopians/Somalis phenotype has change dramatically and are also (some) not as dark as they used to be cuz miscegenation. In my view (outside of Africa) I think too many tribal identities maybe got in the way and was easier for Europeans to colonize us because we were so divided into different groups and didn't see other Africans as family, I think that should maybe change, however this is an outside view and I still have a lot to learn but feel we need to come together and see eachother as one but with our individual identities

BBC have taken what she said out of context for their title. She never said she wasn’t somali
I notice a lot of Swedish people have studied and perfected the art of imitating American accents even though many have not even set foot in North America
We’re often taught english since we’re about 6-8 years old. Most people speak with a mix btw British and American english. Sometimes people have American accents because most TV-shows, music, youtube videos etc. that they watch are American. It’s not really about where you’ve traveled or lived. It’s not like we’ve lived in England either🤷🏻♀️ I think most teachers nowadays speak American english too

Its not that she don't want to be just understand her point of view like the girl has never been in somalia anyways so yeah its not the same for people who have and haven't
Faisal Omar i understand what your saying but a lot of Somalis brainwash younger generations when they are kids, telling them you are quurbo joog, not somali enough etc etc. It's psychological and not easy to say " at the end of the day your somali, just accept it". Also it doesn't matter if her mother is happy or not. It's her life, she's a grown woman. We should respect our parents but god did not make us to live the life they want for us but the life we choose for ourselves.
Despite all the challenges Somalis have had in the past 30 years and so, (Alshabab, Pirates, dourghts and starvations, mass immigrations and civil wars), they seem doing an outstandingly great on Music, arts, schools and generally rebuilding their country. Let's give a round of applauds to this unique and hardworking race. 👏 They're the most beautiful people on the planet.

@@blackafricanrenaissance6461 Why does that surprise you ? We live in the part of Africa closest to Eurasia !
I'm a big fan of hers, but I noticed that a lot of African people who don't have a connection to their motherland and grew up in the west always date interracialy.
Aliyah Xander don’t tell me she dates non Mali’s
@@somaliunityreacts6452 Yeah her boyfriend is a white boy as far as I know.
@@aliyahxander4865 Why is that any of your business?
So what ? She lives in a « white » country and this is a problem if she dates a white guy ? Come on !
@@aliyahxander4865 why does it matter jeez..... I know somalis are choosey but why is it that you are always upset when someone from your community dates a non Somali... What is this the 19th century? You people need to style up shaking my fucking head
Never forget your bloodline are in East Africa InSHÀ Allah bless 😎

I like the way she(Cherrie) sings Masha Allah she's from Somalia we're bloody really👉🇸🇴🇸🇴🇸🇴
How came Swedish know how to speak perfect english? better then how some people in uk speak.
Because in Scandinavia second language is English.
ALFIE A she was raced in us actually and came to Sweden later in her youth at teenage years so her English were better than anyone else but what’s magnifique is that she learned Swedish that fast even though just been here for not that long of time and most of the time in uk
Because we learn to speak English early, and then we use it all the time.
Old Swedes don't speak great English though... 5:14-5:22 5:34-5:40
It is us somalis we a oral people and learning a new language is easier for us is speak somali Dutch English fluent and Swedish and Norwegian I speak to even though not fluent
@@husseomg1494 She was born in Norway, and raised in Finland to the age of 10, and then raised in Sweden. Where did you get that she was raised in the UK from?
how some people are so proud of their kids learning their deen, culture and how people are proud if their kids turning into singers. may Allah guide us all
proud to be African i'm a Somalian 🇸🇴
Somalian who We are Somali not Somalian iska sax
Thank you BBC that interview. Cherrie, continue pushing
100% is Somali because her mum speaking somali
She say she only feel 50% somali you fucking idiot
RaRa Ett Lejon shes 100%
RaRa Ett Lejon shes talking about relating to both cultures. But her ethnicity’s Somali
RaRa Ett Lejon her ethnicity is Somali East African she has no Swedish or Norwegian DNA she is not Caucasian she had African blood both her parents are immigrants to Norway she was only born there she is Norwegian by nationality but her ethnicity is Somali black period everyone comes from somewhere 😂
She's a really good singer/songwriter. Love her as an artist and human beeing
BBC have taken what she said out of context for their title. What she said in the video is something 99% of diaspora kids struggle with which is when you’re ethnically from somewhere completely different to the country you are born in and having that feeling of struggling with your identity. She never said she wasn’t somali
She's Beautiful, You Just Can't Hide The Somali In You Sis. And I Love Your Hair 😍😍😍
I notice a lot of Swedish people have studied and perfected the art of imitating American accents even though many have not even set foot in North America
You're right, even though I live in America, her accent is better than mine.
Ver Sace most of Europeans Just want be North Americans... I guess you can’t blame them, there is nothing in europe
We’re often taught english since we’re about 6-8 years old. Most people speak with a mix btw British and American english. Sometimes people have American accents because most TV-shows, music, youtube videos etc. that they watch are American. It’s not really about where you’ve traveled or lived. It’s not like we’ve lived in England either🤷🏻♀️ I think most teachers nowadays speak American english too
You are 100% somali stop confusing your own identity!! Whether you like it or Not that is the truth. Be proud for who you are !!! You will never become a white person just because you were born in Norway. I can see how unhappy her mother is for her being musician.
We should respect our parents but god did not make us to live the life they want for us but the life we choose for ourselves.
but you need to fix up the country first before you talk about that.
who said that she's not somali and she didint write the title stupid her nationaliy is sweden her ethnicity is somali
Smart of BBC to send an African original UK guy to Rinkeby, it's safer for the whole entire crew and they will allow them to film the production.
Somali and rwandan girls are the queens.
go ahead sister don't care whow insult you we love anyway👑
Cherries well done sis 🇸🇴🇸🇴..Mashaa'Allah you look like your mom sooooo much...keep it up somalis love you..never been in Somalia can't stop you being somali beautiful 👍

Wow beautiful, humble, and talented! Wish u success in everything u do 🙏🏼
I have known a Somali name called cherry. Gosh this lady needs come to the UK and visit Somali Seamen families that migrated to Britain in 1930s. Second generation Somalis that were born & bought up in the UK , are so proud of their culture & definitely not confused about their identity.
May Allah(S.W) guide and forgive us.
@Andalus101 saw it on my reccomendation
It is a popular fan and its people really love Somali culture ❤️🇸🇴🙏
I m from somalia keep going sister

Doing it for the gang 🇸🇴 big up my Somali people
keep up the good work my Somali sister proud of u. somali women are the strongest women I know that's where most us Somali men get our strength cause the son of a strong Somali women and the brother of amazing Somali sister,
You are not a billion percent Swedish but everything Somalian who happens to have been born in Sweden. Accept and move on.
She is not denying. She has never set foot in Somalia. Let the girl be for crying out loud.
She was born in _Norway_ , not Sweden. Then she moved to Finland and lived there until she was about 10, and then she moved to Sweden.
And so....
Hahahahaha you understanding of the language amaze me didn't you hear what she said or maybe your IQ level of understanding is a bit low

She is very pretty

Charrie 😍🇸🇴🇸🇴
Diamond girl bla bla@ what the hell is that map?? You delusional Somali. Such wet dream had been the one who created all the current mess and destruction for Somalia . Stick with maqudishoo or hargessa leave Ogaden for Ethiopian and Garissa for Kenya. They are better off becuse they are part of functional government's.

OMG I know her family, I used to work with Dad in 2008-2011.
Shout out to My Somali people 🇸🇴 😍
Be proud of who you are, always you will be 100% somali girl
She is absolutely Somali and no doubt: so where is the name "Cherie" from? I feel sorry for her! The word Somali does not only show show our Nationality but our ethnicity too. I was born in Somali, live in Canada and my daughter was born in Canada and she still remains to be Somali!
It's short for Sherihan. She's not trying to change her identity, a lot of her music is about her Somali identity.
pure 🇸🇴 somalia girl keep it up gal you make us proud much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
