Even they modify the Evolys to have a standard top cover instead of the small side on.
Sledgehammer ABSOLUTELY loves 3d printed plastic conversions and will make a conversion entirely of plastic and not give a damn even though it might not make sense or is unnecessary.
I’m guessing their reason is so u can easily tell an aftermarket gun from a regular one on the ground… which is a stupid reason cuz I just slap tan or black camo on it to make it look like an actual gun, or everyone else running around with glowing neon rainbow skins lol
I do love this type of FN Evolys design tho than Irl. Like I really hate the cut edge design for the FN Evolys Irl, but the gawd damn the reload is just painful to watch even 2042 is laughing so hard Right now
I usually don’t care (except for when they messed up the Tavor TS12) but how the hell do you just blatantly mess up the Evolys? The lateral feed is like the one unique thing about the FN Evolys, how do you mess up a detail so simple a Battlefield 2042 dev got it right?
The fully modeled yet unused latched dust cover, they didn't even have proper feed internals in the top cover. Why even bother bringing in based-on gun when they can't even base it off the actual way that it works? Its IRL reload mechanic is extremely unique too.

What’s more funny is that when you have a optic attached it sits right on the part that top cover cutout is, so the optic clips right through the rail when you reload
Disregarding the bug with empty links being added when it’s being reloaded near the end of the video, it was a conscious and intentional decision when all the rounds are fired as it fixes a number of bugs that were present in 2019. It also allows for more interesting opportunities on the animation side. While it’s probably not the most exciting reason as to why this is the way it is and while it may just look odd in the end, that’s just how it is sometimes.
