Rocket is soo underrated. Their mock coversation feature is lowkey addictive and has helped me get over the debilitating panic of speaking to a native!
Thanks, I won Rocket Spanish last year from this channel 🙏 I’ve really enjoyed it. It is extremely comprehensive. PS: I have also used Babbel and Busuu, I like both. I use Pimsleur for Farsi, which I also think is great. I have also used Rosetta Stone, I wasn’t a fan. Having used all those apps, extensively, I can confidently agree with this video, Rocket Languages is BY FAR the best language learning product I have found. I think they have 14 languages available. Most of the popular ones. If you want to study a language they don’t have, Pimsleur is a VERY close second place and Pimsleur has 50+ languages available. Pimsleur and Rocket are very similar in their teaching style.
@@TestPrepInsight As always, I appreciate your videos 👍 Here’s an interesting video idea. I have a friend who is Russian and wants to find the best program for his Russian wife to learn English. Some videos reviewing apps for learning English for Spanish speakers, Russian Speakers, etc. I think Rosetta Stone works with any language as your native language. I think Mondly can teach almost any language from any other language. Duolingo has many ESL options. So does Mango Languages. But, you do the best reviews 👍
Reviewing a few different options and you are so helpful! I'd like to learn Spanish so that I may actually get to know my partners family. They are all such kind people and have worked hard to make me feel included that I'd like to return the extension and surprise them all when we get to visit again in December with genuine conversation.
It's incredible how we can connect without saying anything, but it would be so special to all of us to not have that barrier. A year of practice should change that! @@TestPrepInsight
To be honest, I’ve been wanting to learn Spanish for so long. I think I’ve picked up and let down Spanish over the years so many times just because I haven’t found the one app that actually gives you the feeling and ‘thrill’ of learning a new language. Having spent a lot of my childhood summers in rural Spain, I’ve picked up some basic vocab, but no app has made me feel as excited as I was back then. Doing so with a student budget is hard, but you made me think to check out Rocket, thanks! I guess all in all, I want to learn Spanish to make young me proud!
I want to learn spanish because my partner is from Mexico and his family speaks very little (if any) english. It would be great to be able to speak with them directly. Thanks for the recommendations!
Eduardo has always been a Rocket Man! Great informative video TPI. Eduardo really likes Rocket's conversational approach. Eduardo needs to improve his Spanish to help with his avocado import business. Muy bueno!
Thank you for breaking this down. I learned Spanish all the way through college. I didn't use it so I lost most of it. Trying to get it back because planning to move around from Central to South America for a few years. I was initially only thinking Babbel or Rosetta Stone but this has definitely opened my eyes to other apps out there.
I have just come back home (Australia) from a euro trip super inspired to learn Spanish. I've found your comparisons really helpful and would LOVE to get into rocket lang, pimsleur or babbel!
In general, I love languages!! In regard to Spanish, I’ve been learning it on a surface level for 40+ years. No joke. My mom was semi-fluent and spoke some words to me when I was a baby. Because of her affinity for Spanish, I decided to take Spanish as an extra-curricular in high school. For many years, I had a love for the language but did not practice it again until I had my first child at 32 when I began to speak some words to him. When he started kindergarten, Spanish was a required 2nd language for him to learn. Therefore, I had to jump back in because how else is he going to get his homework done 😂? Anywho, it’s been too long for me to dabble. It’s time to shoot for the stars and become fluent in Spanish. Let’s go!
My whole life I’ve been the spanish kid who doesn’t know Spanish. At family events or parties (at some point) I always have that embarrassing interaction with one or two people that start talking to me in a full blown conversation as I awkwardly tell them “no Nintendo”. At this point, I’m a grown man and really need to learn my native language! Just trying to find the right app that will teach me effectively. A free Rocket course from you guys would be amazing 👏🏽🙏🏽💪🏽
Great video. Thanks. I'm an early intermediate Spanish speaker. Will Rocket perform a test and start me in the appropriate place so I don't have to start from scratch? Cheers
First of all, thank you so much for doing such a great job at taking us through all those Web language learning apps so we can find the right fit for our gaols. Following your advice, I started using Rocket Spanish and I am so happy I did. Thanks !!
Good videos. I’m living in mexico and trying to learn but it’s very challenging for me. I´m told my US accent is strong. I’m taking a 360 degree approach to learn in person, in real life and online.
Why do you want to learn Spanish? I’m a medical professional who wants so badly to be able to communicate with Spanish patients that come to my hospital. Because being able to communicate effectively is part of the healing process as well. Also, I absolutely love how you update your content information as these apps update their content or change their formats. It’s definitely helpful in my decision making process, thank you
It's kind of hard to compare because Pimsleur offers monthly subscription plans (~$20/mo) and Rocket sells lifetime plans (~$180 total after discounts).
@@TestPrepInsight Yes and it's not logical, afaik the Pimsleur does not propose lifetime deal and their complete course is $575 which is more then Rocket languages lifetime without discount ie $449; it's not logical because lifetime is usually granted for a premium price and here the premium price is on Pimsleur side..without being lifetime or these $575 has to be explained as i don't see any duration mentioned in the terms. Then, if we go further, while you consider Rocket Languages as the best overall solution and Pimsleur maybe second, Pimsleur has 5 additional course for $150 each, which is another angle to see Pimsleur as more expensive
Thanks for the review! I am high beginner, some intermediate. Which would be most helpful , Pimsleur or Rocket Spanish?. I need to be able to skip the basic 101. Was thinking of doing one of these to get into more verb tenses, etc. Thanks for any advice!
This is helpful. I am about to embark on a 28 day cruise, and I thought it would be fun to take my lessons with me on my Android phone, if possible. Do all of these apps require an internet connection? Or can I use them in disconnected mode while in the middle of the Pacific ocean without an internet connection?
Super helpful videos! Thank you! But I have a question, I want to try Rocket Languages for Spanish but it seems to teach Latin American Spanish and not Castilian Spanish. I spend half my year in Spain so Castilian Spanish is more relevant for me. Or am I missing something? Thanks so much :)
Which do you think would be the best for both driving and learning at a desk? I know Pimsleur was top for driving but I was curious if rocket was also good in the car? Background- moving cross country and want to get a kickstart. 5 days of 8 hour driving. Then I plan to mainly learn while at work and maybe in the car while commuting. I am trying to learn Spanish because I want to travel and many of my family and friends speak if.
Hi, yes, Rocket is also great for the car. Amazing audio lessons. For desk learning, I'd suggest Babbel or Rosetta Stone - more visual programs. Good luck!
After watching a few of your videos regarding Spanish learning apps, I'm going to try Rocket out, it's pretty affordable for a lifetime package! If I truly dive in, I may use a visual one as an adjunct! I want to speak more Spanish around my native Spanish speaking friends and someone I'm dating! 🤓 Hope you score a free lifetime membership!
Why do I want to learn Spanish? I work with people from Latin America. It’s hard to understand their accent in English sometimes. I want to learn Spanish to be able to communicate with them better. After learning basic Spanish pronunciation, I find that I can already understand their English accent better now.
I would love to learn Spanish in order to talk to my family and friends, as well as travel, and to apply for a better opportunity in my career! 🤞🏾i would love to use Rocket.. just can’t afford it currently.
Thanks for the video, I need to learn spanish for my job in the medical field. I took 2 years back in highschool but really need to become fluent hoping to save for rocket spanish
I am a nurse and would love to learn Spanish and not have to call the translator line to be able to help my patients. Rocket seems to be the one i would go with. Thanks!!
Thank you for this! I want to learn Spanish for a few reasons… 1. To connect with my nephews’ Guatemalan family, 2. To better help my physical therapy patients, 3. To better connect with the Spanish speaking community overall. 🙏🏽
To be clear, I am not a medical professional haha, but for someone with ADD, I would start with Babbel. I think their quick hit lessons and fast moving approach might be best
I saw this post last week after I made my decision for Rocket: Spanish. I’m happy this video was made. While I know the basics of introductions, ordering food, navigating, time, etc, I began at level 1 anyways and have learned new phrases that I was not familiar with. One thing I have noticed is that the voice recognition is not as smooth for me as stated in the review. I’ll say things I know are correct, and it will throw out different words that we’re not even within the same sounds I made🤷♀️. It will occasionally throw out errors and say it is having trouble. I just have to skip that word and go to the next one. I did read another commenter mention you can adjust the voice sensitivity. I’ll give that a go and see if it makes a difference. All in all, Rocket has been a great choice. I love the option of reading the transcript as I listen to the lesson. That helps me read and discern the words.
just found your channel. i have been trying to learn Spanish for what seems like a million years, well, at least 10. omg, that makes me feel depressingly stupid.
Please mention that Rocket Spanish teaches you Latin American Spanish NOT European Spanish. It's useless for those of us trying to learn European Spanish.
