Percy was SO upset about the gun being destroyed in the campaign that they had to use a Hold Person spell on him to keep him from killing Scanlan. xD He had spent nearly 5 years and 5k gold on it, enchanted two barrels with fire and ice (we don't see that in the animation) and made all his own ammunition and gunpowder. I like that they kept in the thing Keyleth had about getting all happy when Vex complimented her or winked at her. They really did a good job translating how the characters interact with each other.
The whole fight with Orthax was so well done. The visuals and animation for that fight are amazing. I felt so sad for Percy, being forced to see the tragedy that happened to his family over and over- they really emphasize how much the memories have tortured him. The show gave me a new appreciation for how much Percy has been through, you get it from listening to C1, but it is entirely different seeing it animated!

"I hope we were gonna fight the whispered one" ... I dunno man .... to quote delilah "Cities will fall! Titans will rise! Rivers will fill with blood!" .... I think this is hard forshadowing for idk .. season 3 or 4.
I really liked the season, but the one complaint I have with it is the way they left Vax and Keyleth. They kind of traded one of my favorite Vax lines for an in- joke. I don't need this to be a direct translation; they are two very different mediums. I haven't really had any issues with the other changes they made to the original stories. But they put this scene in... and traded out the most meaningful dialogue the two of them would have had up until this point. What she said in the show was a pretty good summation of what she said in the campaign. But I think Vax's response was so so great. "Don't do anything. Don't change anything. I haven't lied. I told the truth. If you'll have me, I'm yours. If you don't want me, I understand." Vax knows Keyleth doesn't owe him anything, but he also knows that- because of who she is- his admission could make her feel pressured. And so, he approached her and openly told her that she was free to reject him. It was a way that Vax showed his genuine love for her, and they traded it out for an "I walk away" in- joke. I would have been fine with it even if they switched out that dialogue for something at least a little meaningful. But, nah. But, disliking just one change out of... hundreds is a pretty good ratio. XD

Without getting into spoilers your words will be prophetic in upcoming seasons if the show is renewed for a season 3/4. The upcoming arc is amazing and Mercer pulls no punches.
Ye. Adding to General Crieg's speech, remember the eye that appeared and saw Vox Machina and the voices that said, "Intruders?" Ye. That's them. Also, remember the fact that that day was the day that the boundaries between the planes were the thinnest. They waited till that day of all days, but why? It's draconic revenge for the Death of Brimscythe time. Also, ye, Vex actually said that a Dragon attacked their Mother's Villiage. This is the start of the longest arc. ( they can fit it all in 1 season, but it would be better to make the next arc 2 seasons, so that it would set up all the NPCs that were needed to defeat them, and the story hooks for Campaign 2's story. Also, there's 2 more seasons worth of story after that.) So far, there is only one more confirmed season.
So btw Scanlan being a bard. Bards are the Jack of all trades in 5e so he does actually have healing spells I think that this was their way of kinda introducing that
This was one that I didn’t catch right away, but now I think it’s such a clever setup. Scanlan in that moment discovered that he has the ability to cast healing spells, which is definitely going to come up again.
@@kaniamia yeah cause I mean if you really think about it keyleth only needed the supplies because she channels her magic through and from nature. Scanlan realistically would gain no benefit from that mixture as a purely arcane caster
Enters... "THE CHROMA CONCLAVE" (remember Kriegs dragon carpet in ep 2?) arc 2 which I think will play over season 2 and 3 and then the final arc, Whispered One on season 4.
Okay, I dunno if this is just me, but would anyone else like to see what would happen if Percy got his hands on some black chalk, put it in a semi circle, lit that on fire while wearing his plague doctor mask, and then started laughing his ass off menacingly when the rest of the crew comes back with Pike? God, I would kill to see _that_ play out
I guess while you wait for them to make the 2nd season you could watch more Critical Role! Perhaps what Season 2 is about starting with Campaign 1 episode 39? Sooo for you Omn1 and anyone else who doesn't know, what do you think the spiny orb of death is? *knowing evil grin* Also, your assumption is correct. The twins even said in the first or 2nd episode that their hometown was destroyed and mother was killed by a dragon but Vex hasn't been able to find the dragon responsible.
In a nutshell: Percy made a pact with the demon of vengeance Orthax. Orthax will give Percy the knowledge to create a weapon that he can use to exact his revenge and in exchange Orthax will take possession of all the souls on Percy's list, with Percy's soul being the last. Once the weapon was destroyed, the pact ended.
*SPOILER ABOUT THE NON NAMED BARREL* Actually the empty barrel is meant to signify that the killing won't end and revenge is never enough and with it he would keep killing gathering souls too Orthax. I remember it coming up at the campaign wrap-up. Everybody though it was for himself at the time but it never was.

The more I watch this whole Percy fight and how he interacts with his demon, it gives me very big.. (and I apologize for this) Bleach vibes. Like Percy's got a hollow side in him.
Oh goodness, I’ve still got a lot of catching up to do but I don’t want to watch ahead of the show, makes the reactions a lot more fun not having a clue what to expect!
it was keyleth AND pike that took out sylas the first time in the original campaign but marisha/keyleth is still an annoying pos and i can't STAND how they are COMPLETELY changing the original campaign/story just to put marisha/keyleth in a better light it's fucking pathetic and sad
Honestly I’m a little annoyed by all the friendship bs, and how talking is still a free action. The demon didn’t have to want to murder everything, could’ve been a friend. The fight against Sylas was lame, and Grog again got knocked out right away. Like i get why but seriously? All of the oh boohooo black cloud Percy stuff still annoyed me like it did in the campaign. Just let him be corrupted if that’s what he wants. He clearly made a pact for a specific reason so if anything he’s the asshole for trying to back out of it.
I'm so confused by your comment. You start by saying you're "annoyed by all the friendship BS", but then immediately go on to say the demon "could've been a friend". So... you don't like that they emphasize friendship among the party, but you also would rather a *shadow demon of vengeance* be a friend than an enemy?
the dragons seem so small, why are they so small! they're ancient dragons for fucks sake! also this was kinda anti-climactic, since it didn't reveal the dragons one by one, but all together...
I’m LOVING the show but that’s been my biggest concern with the adaptation and how much content they have that forces them to squish the story together. Like going straight from Whitestone to the beginning of the Chroma Conclave. For example (SPOILERS for the next arc): By the time the conclave attacks Emon in the campaign Scanlan has already begun his character arc because he found out he has a daughter. I’m sure that they’ll fit it somewhere into the story (it’s just too important to skip) but I have this slight fear that his moments with Kaylie and things like the trip to the Feywild won’t get animated.
@@lexim.7582 SPOILERS Pretty certain Feywild will happen at some point because of a certain important character that is introduced down there, and Kaylie is super important in the long term as well considering the snowball effect she has on Scanlan's actions later on.

Me watching this episode: KNOCK KNOCK LET THE DEVIL IN, VENOM DNANANANA VENOM DANANA VENOM
My friend, also watching: goddammit
"I hope we were gonna fight the whispered one" ... I dunno man .... to quote delilah "Cities will fall! Titans will rise! Rivers will fill with blood!" .... I think this is hard forshadowing for idk .. season 3 or 4.
And so the Chroma Conclave arc begins! Ohhh my.... episode 1 of season 2 is gonna be ridiculously good.
If you don't want me, I understand."
Vax knows Keyleth doesn't owe him anything, but he also knows that- because of who she is- his admission could make her feel pressured.
XD
If you recall when they went in the basement there was a rug with 5 different colors ;)
Yeah, I remember that! :o
Been enjoying your watch along/reviews of the show! FYI for more background info CR has been hosting watch-alongs with special guests involved in the creation of the show and featuring concept art and fan Q&A about the adaptation. They're posted on UA-cam after they air, here's the link to the first one: ua-cam.com/video/5ePlVbY1p9E/v-deo.html
Yeah, the whispered one will be season 3 possibly 4 depending on how long they spend on the next arc.
I feel season 4, since Chroma conclave, I really doubt can be in only 12 episodes. Like I see 2 seasons for the whole thing, with how much goes on.
@@jjmara01 Chroma conclave is HUUUUUGE, so yeah, I'm with you.
@@jjmara01 Season 2 is 14 episodes.
If they the time they needs, it should be 4 seasons total, dragons season 2 and 3 with the whispered one being the 4th.
might even be 5 there is an entire arc post conclave but before that final arc
Already so excited for season two. I may know what's coming, but I can't wait!
I'm gonna need season 2 asap
Also I didn't expect show Keyleth to kinda be my favorite character
As would once one Sith lord said And Now we Have our revenge.
Enters... "THE CHROMA CONCLAVE" (remember Kriegs dragon carpet in ep 2?) arc 2 which I think will play over season 2 and 3 and then the final arc, Whispered One on season 4.
"No! Don't go to... Fuck you!" Heh heh. Welcome to the next arc.
God, I would kill to see _that_ play out
Told you it's a demon of vengeance :P
Uh the next arc seems to be the Chroma...something arc, dragons!!
Season 2: welcome to the chroma conclave arc.
I guess while you wait for them to make the 2nd season you could watch more Critical Role! Perhaps what Season 2 is about starting with Campaign 1 episode 39? Sooo for you Omn1 and anyone else who doesn't know, what do you think the spiny orb of death is? *knowing evil grin*
Also, your assumption is correct. The twins even said in the first or 2nd episode that their hometown was destroyed and mother was killed by a dragon but Vex hasn't been able to find the dragon responsible.
Honestly, I have no idea what the orb might be! Lol
@@Omn1Media oh just you wait
@@Omn1Media I'd love to see a "thoughts on the season" video from you 😊 you're very articulate and have great insight.
@@Omn1Media crap I just realized I typed 39 instead of 24..
Whisper One will be like season 4 or later if we keep going haha
The demon Orthax's voice reminds me of the Angel of Death in Hellboy 2
In a nutshell: Percy made a pact with the demon of vengeance Orthax. Orthax will give Percy the knowledge to create a weapon that he can use to exact his revenge and in exchange Orthax will take possession of all the souls on Percy's list, with Percy's soul being the last. Once the weapon was destroyed, the pact ended.
*SPOILER ABOUT THE NON NAMED BARREL*
Actually the empty barrel is meant to signify that the killing won't end and revenge is never enough and with it he would keep killing gathering souls too Orthax. I remember it coming up at the campaign wrap-up. Everybody though it was for himself at the time but it never was.
i hope next season they mix the chroma conclave arc with vex and vax's past.
Best Seasin Cliffhanger ever😂
The fight against "The Whispered One" will likely be Season 4. (Yes, I am assuming full campaign 1 run for this series)
As a relatively new critter who just got on board during ExU, I would like LoVM to continue on to cover season 3 as well, please and thank you 😁 I want to see Laudna and Fearne!
Me at the end of the episode: FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!
Ugh, that was so good and damnit all, that had to go cliffhanger ending, 😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Hopefully, season 2 is only a year away, like MHA does.
chroma conclave has joined the chat
The Cinder King is coming!
Keep in mind Brimsytche was only a young adult dragon. These dragons are adult to ancient
There's the entire story with the dragons before we get anywhere near the whispered one. Depends if we get a season 3
Though I kinda hope this next arc has multiple seasons plenty of ground to cover.
If they were going to kill dilila then just let Percy do it
THE CHROMA CONCLAVE >:)
Tangently related: Does this show make you wanna try D&D? Coz I feel like you'd be fun to play with at a table.
I already play but it definitely makes me itch to have a session right after each episode!
Yeah whenever the demon said for him to pull parsi where my first thought was the meme poor the trigger nobody else going to do it for you maybe you should pull the feffort
This fight comes later. 😂
The more I watch this whole Percy fight and how he interacts with his demon, it gives me very big.. (and I apologize for this) Bleach vibes. Like Percy's got a hollow side in him.
they fight vecna in the second to last ep of the first campaign ep 114
So will you want to wait 1-2 years for next season or start episode 39 of critical roll don't worry next arc is only 160 ish hours of content lol
Oh goodness, I’ve still got a lot of catching up to do but I don’t want to watch ahead of the show, makes the reactions a lot more fun not having a clue what to expect!
Basically berserker armor
Wait they're bringing thordak already!!
my biggest disappointment from this season was not getting to hear the Sun Tree talk. Other Critters may agree.
Bacon!
You don't fight Vecna that early in a campaign
I believe that their guest on this last Q&A is Grey Griffin, voice of Delilah
“The Whispered One” = Vectna
But they'll never call him that on the show because trademarks.
it was keyleth AND pike that took out sylas the first time in the original campaign but marisha/keyleth is still an annoying pos and i can't STAND how they are COMPLETELY changing the original campaign/story just to put marisha/keyleth in a better light it's fucking pathetic and sad
They're far too low level to take on The Whispered One 😅
For example (SPOILERS for the next arc):
By the time the conclave attacks Emon in the campaign Scanlan has already begun his character arc because he found out he has a daughter. I’m sure that they’ll fit it somewhere into the story (it’s just too important to skip) but I have this slight fear that his moments with Kaylie and things like the trip to the Feywild won’t get animated.
@@lexim.7582 SPOILERS
Pretty certain Feywild will happen at some point because of a certain important character that is introduced down there, and Kaylie is super important in the long term as well considering the snowball effect she has on Scanlan's actions later on.
@@AmazingChi yeah I’m sure we’ll get those things there’s just that little fear I have of “what great moments will they have to cut” for the sake of time. Based on season one though they seemed to get most key moments so I’m sure it will be good.
