I have never forgotten this show I loved it so much. Clarence was my favourite animal. He and Elsa from Born Free, opened up my deep love of lions. These shows should be mandatory for kids nowadays. Good clean, informative viewing. Wish they'd put them on again, us adults need to reminisce. ❤️❤️❤️
I loved Clarence The Lion too! It was a good show and talk people to be nice to animals. They should bring back these older shows instead of constant repeat of shows that have been on a channel for ever like Hogan's heroes please somebody take that show off the air!!
Me too!! Although I must’ve watched it in reruns because it would’ve been the 70s when I saw this. When this came up in my feed and I read the title, I couldn’t believe the intro music instantly popped into my head before I hit play. Holy flashback! Awesome find - thanks for posting!
Me too. Remembering Daktari and the spin-off Clarence the Crosseyed Lion were really worth watching, amongst others. Those were the days when tv was interesting and the films of the same names were a must to watch. What Exciting times. What you said is actually right. How I miss that time, after seeing this video.

I wish our children could watch these kinds of programs instead of violent cartoons. I'm 55 and I remember growing up with Flipper the dolphin Ben the bear and Skippy the kangaroo. How lucky we were!
Daktari and Bewitched ... my two favourite TV programmes from childhood in Hackney, London, during the 1960s. It's just occurred to me I now have two cats and three dogs ... and live in a Cornish village known for witchcraft.
I was born in 1978! Ilove this classic television show. It was a spin off from the classic 1965 movie Clarence the Cross-Eyed Lion. Thank you for posting and sharing!
I'm impressed at the sheer range of subject matter that was explored in the first decade or so of television. I guess they had nothing to do then but think of stuff that had never been done before in that new medium.
I remember watching Daktari on Saturday nights after dinner. I was allowed to stay up until eight thirty ; it was usually seven thirty pm on school nights at the time. And church in the morning, of course !
It's because of this show... That now I love nature, my greatest love is for the ocean! And I have become a regular on the YT channel call SAFARI LIVE... Thank uuuu DAKTARI for the great moments and memories 😎🤙
I think my clearest memories of Daktari come from '69; I was 4 or 5, depending on whether it was before or after June 19. I remember seeing Born Free several times on TV, too. And Tarzan on NBC, later in reruns. Great time for animal adventures.
This was an amazing show. I love the lion Judy was funny she was there for the comedy content. But I remember being a small kid and sitting in front of the TV and watching this show it was great. Why can't they bring back some of these older shows and take some of the old shows that they have on these cable channels and put them in the vault for awhile we get tired of it don't they know that?
I forgot about this show. I watched it when I was very young in the 60's. Anything with animals in it, the Littlest Hobo, Skippy, Rin Tin Tin, Lassie I watched them all. My parents thought I might grow up to be a vet, didn't happen of course. Was a good show.
I was a baby when this aired. Glad it is on YT. My friend's brother was named after the show. I think Erin Moran got her start in showbiz on this show.
Born in 66. Old songs stick in the memory forever. I hadn't heard the theme since the Seventies. Seeing this video, I only recall the music, not the characters.
I absolutely loved this show. While I had other interests that directed me in a different direction, I can't help but think that there are some, who were inspired by this show, and wound up in Africa taking care of animals.
I remember watching this show when it was live on t.v. I was 5 and loved the theme song and "Clarence, the cross eyed lion". I just saw it again on Roku television on the "Family Favs" channel❤
