    ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing loudspeakers in the field of Professional Audio.
    The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil was largely responsible for the company’s founding. Producing sound not with a piston-like diaphragm as is done in most of the loudspeakers that are on the market, but using a pleated diaphragm that is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving was the appealing idea behind it all. The achieved results were intriguing and gave ample reason for moving forward.

      Metal/ribbon tweeters. Various ways to skin this cat, and there are about 8 or 9 studio monitor manufacturers out there that make some of their monitors using metal/ribbonAMT tweeters. Biggest downside of them is the super easy way to damage them. Any little inadvertent poking will damage them so they would need to be replaced. For instance, I would not have them in a house or flat with cats and small children. In a pro studio business setting this is much less of an issue, of course.

      We had it in our training studio. its low end was a bit annoying to me but I loved it because it was very clear. better than Eris8 or HS8. it wasn't very flat to my ears although I know you can adjust it. Sadly, at this price range I have liked no 8" monitors really.

    Purchased a pair of ADAM Audio T7V's. Lots of extremely positive reviews on various platforms and I can say that I can clearly see why! I honestly don't do studio work, but enjoy a nice transparent sound. So I basically use them as computer speakers for music listening or for fooling around with music production as a hobby! I must also say that ADAM's community outreach and just general willingness to keep in touch with consumers/customers and producing videos on the functionality of their products, or just general advice with audio have certainly helped me choose this brand over others. Oh and they sound pretty much the best at this price point. They look good too!

    I love my T7V’s thank you! I use them with Ableton 10 via Komplete Audio 1 for Electronic/Alternative Rock music production. I Dj/Live stream with a Denon SC5000 via Allen and Heath Xone:92 and it’s quite crisp and punchy! I love making music, Djing, and plugging my guitar/bass to just jam through Ableton and build tones. Tweaked band mixes with drums and also electronic sounds let these breathe and especially after they been played through for about eight hours. I use them in a medium sized rectangle room where I’ve basically split into bedroom/studio mode lol. I’ve left the monitors all on normal settings I’ve yet to sound proof the space. These are great for the price, I got them through Gage at Sweetwater! Have a great pair of monitors for multiple applications from bedroom, studio and mobile setups!

    I bought my pair of T8Vs for casual listening last Black Friday. I must say they are completely worth the price (personal opinion, and I haven't heard better). The details from those ribbon tweeters are out of this world and surpasses my Naim Mu-so. The imaging is very accurate to the point that it feels like there is a center channel dedicated to the vocalist. The bass extension is very good and goes really deep. The amount of bass is slightly less than what I am used to, but it is appropriate and is not to fault as they are studio monitors. I have no regrets with my purchase, and I will probably not upgrade until they break because it is essentially overkill for casual listening.

    My A7X is back from the dead and I am so happy right now. I don't know how it died but I've switched interface now just to be safe. A7X is hands down the best I've heard. I still think it's more fun to listen to than any HiFi speakers that I've tried from Dynaudio or even a Klipsch reference model.
    Speaking of ribbon tweeters... The first time I listened to ribbon tweeters were after my brother upgraded from a Tascam to a Behringer. The difference is so immense that even until today, I can clearly hear the difference between a Behringer Nekkst K8 vs Behringer Truth B303A (ribbon).

T5V had more clear mids, silkier highs, tighter bass, and more full bass extension! Could you please say is 4 inches away from the back wall or bass trap enough room for the port? Some website says you can place it 2 inches from the wall, others say you need 2 feet! LOL

    I bought the T5v’s - taking the plunge with the ribbon. My dream speaker is a quality 3-way with a ribbon… maybe if I detail enough vehicles?!
    The five year warranty is a huge deal. SVS does the same. Being made in China it’s impossible to stay ontop of quality control and supply chain issues.
    Both sets of my M-Audio m3-6’s and M3-8’s have amp issues after 6 years of use… So hopefully the Adams can last longer.
    I did change it up and ordered the compact sub from Kali Audio - it has insane output from 20-40hz given its footprint.
    Should be a fun combo!!

    Gotta say the T7Vs were the best thing I purchased in 2020. I have a fairly small, untreated space that is pretty neutral acoustically, so it doesn't take too much to set up monitors properly. After listening and mixing on 3 different pairs for about 4-5 weeks each, I had a suspicion the Adams were superior to two other popular brands in the same price range. Well fast forward 1.25 years, and all the mixes I made on the adams sound much better than the ones done on other brands. I ended up keeping the T7Vs because they sounded better to my ear. Nothing in this price range is going to be stunningly flat, so get that expectation straight, then you can focus on what you need from your monitors. Not only did my mixes improve when I went with these, the quality of these allowed me to adapt to the sound in a way that helped me to get better over time. After a little over a year of listening to countless albums on these, I have sped up my work flow and gotten consistently, and progressively better sounding mixes. Comparing these now to other Adams and botique brands, I'm shocked that I paid the price I did for these. I wouldn't have expected this outstand quality for the price, I'll just say it. I just bought Dynaudio Lyd 7s so I can again do the 4-5 week mix test and see if the bump in price range gets me to 'the next level'. Also worth mentioning, the IsoAcoustics isolation stands made the T7Vs noticeably more focused, especially in the low end, and much easier to hear the 'sweet spot'. So if you're serious about getting the most out of a product in this price range and can't do much about your space, I highly recommend those Isoacoustics, they're a bit pricey but oh so worth it!

The dedicated midrange speaker. Three-way vs. two-way is a difference. I am using the S3V as my L/R speakers and the S3H as center. The S3H has more punch due to the dual bass speakers than the S3V and this is also a difference to the S2V. But the S2V is powerful enough to give you enough bass and a very balanced speaker. I love them. However, I am thinking about moving my S2Vs to replace the A5X as ceiling speakers and buying four more S3Vs as surround speakers. The price difference is not that much, but if size matters, the S2V may be a better choice if you are traveling and need to have a pair of capable speakers in compact size. Just my two cents.

    Those are great, especially those highend mini s2v adams, but for 1700 bucks or a bit more you should offer REAL dsp room correction with a measurement microphone like how genelec has with their glm stuff which perfectly calibrates things for your room for the most accurate response and consistency no matter the environment. The ones that seem worth it are the t series and the ax series, everything else that you make appears to be over priced there after when compared with genelecs with their room correction, especially their coax monitors.... Please make your monitors, especially your high end ones have real dsp correction, even your ax line could use that as an optional feature. Your ribbons and drivers are great, but your highend stuff especially needs that little bit more for that kind of money.

    Hello Adam Audio.
    I bought a pair of T5V´s recently to use as pc speakers. I did not listened to them before i bought them, i based my purchase only in the reviews, and also the fact that you´re not a Chinese brand is important to me. I really love them. If i would have to make a criticism, the only thing i can come up to is they could be louder. They must have low sensivity. But if they would have higher sensivity and could play louder, then they could not have that great bass that they have at such a compact design, am i right? At first, i had them siting a litle lower and with no toe in at all, but then i raised them, put them a litle closer and made them facing me completely, and all of that made a significant difference in their perceived loudness, so now i´m good with them. I think the perfect pc speakers for me would be the T8V´s, which don´t cost much more than the T5V´s. But they´re way bigger and i would not have the space for them, so i´m good with the T5V´s.

    I just recently purchased a pair of T7V's, but I've been having problems with them.
    When you buy a new pair of monitors, aren't both of them supposed to sound the same? If they don't sound the same the stereo image isn't accurate. My pair doesn't sound the same, one of the speakers sounds brighter and the other one sounds darker. I already did a lot of testing and I'm pretty sure the problem is with the speakers, not with my audio interface, nor my connections, nor my room. I already contacted my local dealer, they agreed with me and replaced one of the speakers, but this new speaker still sounds different from the other one (again, I'm sure the problem is the speakers, not my audio interface, room, etc). So I was wondering, is this normal? Is it that, because of the price range, there's no consistency in the quality of the T Series and I shouldn't have expected better from them? Or should I keep replacing them until I get a pair that sounds the same? The problem with that is that my local dealer will not have any more T7V units in stock until late July, so I'm stuck with what I've got. I'm really sad and disappointed.

    Hi Adamoids; here's a question you probably can't or won't answer, but hey... one can try. ;) How does the T-serie compare to similarly priced monitors from Kali Audio? Like the LP6/8 or even the IN-8. I work in music retail (among Europe's biggest), and in the budget segment it's always the T-series and the Kali-models I advice to customers. Being an office clerk, I've no idea how these brands compare. ^_^ It's hard to say when/how a monitor is good anyway. What's 'good'? Neutral? I'd think that a neutral Adam still sounds different from a neutral Genelec.

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  4 роки тому

      Hi great question! Kali makes great, respectable products. Our biggest difference, however is the technology we've used... like we mentioned we use ART (Accelerated ribbon technology) as opposed to a typical dome tweeter which allows our monitors to extend further in the high-end, reducing ear fatigue when working for long hours. Neutrality is a key to studio reference monitoring, but it also is important to look at things like low/high frequency extension, how wide the sweet-spot is, the SPL from the monitors etc. There's a lot to consider when researching or purchasing a set of studio monitors. Hope this helps 👍

    5 year warranty? I literally ordered a pair of Adam T8V 8" monitors yesterday from Sweetwater and I only got a two year warranty. What gives???

      Hi Luis, you can benefit from the extended warranty by registering your T8Vs on our website: www.adam-audio.com/en/my-adam/

    Basically you have two categories *Prosumer* and *Professional* when comparing budget equipment to high end. My only complaint with the design is using an unnecessary LCD screen on the back of a speaker that you will never see. The Yamaha's just have switchable buttons and more reliable. The more fancy stuff the more things that can go wrong. I guess that's a German thing.

      For the S Series, we found that the OLED display /push-button combination offers a quite convenient way to access all the different features that you can find in our flagship range: 2 x shelf filters (high and low) and parametric EQs for room compensation, 5 x presets, delay for distance compensation, and so on. That would be a lot of buttons and switches on the back plate :-)

      @@ADAMAudioBerlin I see but Just think when that display burns out, that would be an expensive repair. Just like BMWs and Mercedes that have alot of fancy electronics gizmos that can go wrong as they age turns into money pit cars. What about utilizing a software app?

      The USB port on the back of our S Series monitors allows you to connect the speakers to your PC and you can access all the mentioned features via our S Control remote software. Apart from that, we offer an Extended Warranty of 5 years for all our products upon registration in the MyADAM user area on our website, to protect your investment. Good questions!

      The LED/DSP function display is a 'cost effective' (cheaper) option to using pots and switches.

    Why does t7v tweeter hiss so much?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  3 роки тому

      Hi Filip! Due to the high-performance amplifier, the T7V produces a low self-noise, which should not be perceived as disturbing from a distance of 1.3 meters. For the best signal-to-noise ratio, we generally recommend that you adjust the input volume you use to drive the monitor as loud as possible (without clipping the input of the monitor) and then turn the monitor volume down accordingly. Hope that helps!

      @@ADAMAudioBerlin Thank you for the response! So if my pair produces disturbing hiss they are faulty? I am going to change them for another pair.
