    Simple, yet professional looking edit... particularly sound and diction, which is spot on and not so easy to get right and very helpful graphics too. I also appreciate the conversion between inches and cms... I'm not too bad with imperial depending on the topic - altitude, boat length, road miles, mph...but inches, half inches, quarter inches, 1/8ths and foot lengths not related to boats, I'm useless with.

    I thought you forgot about the chain stay length, at last a video about chain stay length and more detailed version. Thanks Shad

      Nope, didn't forget. These take some thought and it takes time to do them and edit them

    Seat tube steepness combats wheelie pop up climbing also. But stack helps with play time in my opinion the most.
    Long front centers give you way more insurance in not looping backwards from manuals or wheeling. Also BB drop too. Couple the BB drop, reach and short chain stays together when wanting a play bike for stability. Good video

    Very very good explanation. What your thoughts on mullet /mixed wheels setup these days. Like most people says its a best of both world. Share me your thoughts.

      It works well if your bike's geometry is set up for it or you want to slightly slacken an existing bike. Be careful not to let your BB get too low.
      As far as how it rides, I love it. I set up my Esker Hayduke with a mixed wheel setup and it made the bike more fun for sure compared to 29 inch wheels. I have older videos 2ish years ago about it.
      Right now my Canyon is a 29er and AI like it, but one issue I have is that I sit on the rear wheel when jumping sometimes when I try to tuck the bike up under me. This would happen less with a 27.5 wheel.

    Your a cool cat bro. Waiting on my 2024 Marin San Quentin “3”. Large frame, $1919 with tax OTD sale opted for the 29er. LBS has to receive it in yet. The wait is hard 😂

    I have a 2021 Santa Cruz Chameleon. I’ve kept it at 410 and haven’t moved it since I bought it. May lengthen it now after watching this. I’m 5’10” and do mostly XC trails.

    • @ShadLife
      @ShadLife  7 місяців тому

      410 is pretty short. For 5' 10" that seems like the front end would lift super easily. Although, if you do a lot of jumping that might be a good trait as it makes it easier to pop off of jumps. But for climbing and other typical singletrack riding it might not be ideal.

      @@ShadLife makes sense, I have to really weight the front end on climbs. Thanks for the explanation.

    I’m a chainstays wheenie 😂 I switched my nukeproof scout M frame to dart moor primal S just because it has 418 mm cs and shorter front-center to maximize playfulness and jumping. Next year I want to try another frame with even shorter front center and has sliding dropouts up to fantastic 405mm cs with 27.5 wheel 😂 I want the shortest possible cs on 27.5 wheels

      You are pretty much going into DJ bike territory. That all makes sense for a playful bike. How tall are you?

    • @viper0tz
      @viper0tz 11 місяців тому +1

      @@ShadLife yeah, I thought about that, and bought good DJ build will all fancy things like pike dj, strong wheels, good hubs - but after 2 months of riding I understood that I miss versatility of a 27.5 hardtail. Looks like I want just something in between 27.5 trail ht and DJ :) maybe even mullet but 26+27.5 😂 I like 27.5 due to comfort of pedaling and going uphill , ability to run XC courses , dropper, cassette and 27.5 more stable and softer, it forgives more mistakes . So currently 27.5 is my perfect versatile weapon for mtb and DJ . I’m 178 cm tall and felt Nukeproof Scout 275 in Medium a little bit bigger that I want , like just a little shorter cs(let’s say 420 instead of 425) , 15-20 mm less reach and maybe a liiitle higher bb to make jumping and tricks easier

      I bought a bsd alvx af frame cuz it had the shortest commercially available chainstays.. ground down the dropouts to push the axle further forward so it got even shorter.. my ass hates it.. but I love it..
      On a BMX frame.. its loopout city..

    Nice video made me look at my new bike i went with Kona Cinder cone found it interesting the chain stay is same length as small bike i'd thought it be different the bike is much shorter length and height i'm changing the crank in the bike to 36 t from 28 t . any way never understood the new bikes till this one came into me it makes jumping lot easier i can feel my corners when bounce my rear tire left or right kinda cool helps the bike is super light vs my old tank i could hit a tree that bike would be lets keep going the chain stay length on my older bike is a much longer length makes me wonder about crank size tad more with shorter travel . any how thank you for the video and the time you took to make it
