Wow, thank you!
So true..such a nice, natural girl and zero of the 'influencer' nonsense ❤
This. I totally agree.
Totally agree! No idiotic "UA-camr" antics
Yesssss agree 💯 !
“No shoe is sexy if you can’t walk in them”. TRUE 😂
YESSSSS amen to that. I am dealing with recovery since last year from plantar fasciitis in both feet and if my heel hurts the shoe is gone haha. Could be a flat shoe or a heel doesn’t matter - if it hurts my heels they’re gone! 😂
So ready for this one! I’ve challenged myself to really, actually, do a fully emphatically committed low buy for the year, and a no buy for the rest of the month. I use the luxury beauty and fragrance fantasy universe as an escape from severe depression and a life I’ve felt stuck in for years and I’m hoping to put that mental energy into making real world personal changes and more art and music (that I always feel shitty about) instead. I want to feel good about my life and the things I make and do. I live and get through the hours and days and weeks and months for new, sparkly, special trinkets and treasures to come in the mail. Honestly it’s scary facing down months with nothing to keep going for. But here’s to trying! 😅
Keep going! I took up a class on crocheting because I spent all my time alone. I have friends, but they don't live close by. It's really helped me! And, I'll have something to show for it! Best wishes to you.
My daughter used to buy out of depression food as well. I went over her bills , her wants and I’m like. You need to re focus energy into things FOR YOU OR YOUR HOME. New windows , new flooring. Etc ….
You are not alone! I also look forward to those packages arriving! That and desserts sometimes are what I need to get through tough times, but having a balance is important, if we spend too much or eat too much then its just another new problem 😭
@@jaminacakes7743 I find myself internally ticking myself off far too often. Then the inner child rebels and wants a reward. Like you shop for a white bag, convinced it's what you 'need'. Then I was: 'no you are NOT having the white bag you don't need it.
'Renovate your existing things/vintage items' my internal voice directs... which I like doing but don't do enough. That's a hobby, So I found myself scrolling through Etsy getting increasingly annoyed because I couldn't find what I wanted to match with an offwhite mesh vintage evening bag. I want to get rid of the thin gold chain handle and add a thick resin one.
Oh but the available colours and sizes...tricky tricky. I had to get the measuring tape out...tricky tricky I was getting agitated.
Then I realised: this is meant to be FUN! Once I relaxed and got less intense, the right coloured resin chain was found. Being creative is so tricky and the perfectionist comes out and then you get hard on yourself.
We all get hard on ourselves and that seems to precede the sudden need for a reward wether it's food, notebooks, mugs, shoes, bags, fragrance whatever.
Whereas if we can turn life into a game and be less intense there is more play and fun. But not going for the instant reward is the trick. Funding the fun is my new solution to everything. Let's see how it goes in 2024...lol!
PS it's meant to be a good year for monkeys so here's hoping, and I'm watching my internal dialogue more carefully. Maybe too much discipline and punishment is the wrong way to go.
I don’t know if you follow Hannah Louise Poston but I think you’d really like her content! She’s got such a wonderful calm vibe like Michelle and has so many great videos on dealing with consumerism and no buys. Highly recommend!
I’ve made a commitment. I’m no longer buying complexion makeup (foundation, concealer, powder) until I run out of one in that category. This is a very hard one for me 😂
I dont know if I could do that but I definitely, definitely should!! You've got this!!!
I like this! I have so many foundations that are open and in rotation. I'm going to try this, too.
That’s a good goal. I buy tinted moisturizers, but I have wayyyy too many of them. 🙄
My favourite purchase also
@@danielleficek Yes!!!
I’m ready to leave behind self-doubt and overthinking!
I blame trapper keeper and everyone getting diaries as little girls for our generation’s addiction to notebooks. 😂
Omg yes!
Yes! Lisa Frank started my obsession.lol❤💕
AND so many schools did not allow trapper keepers so that it made you want them even more!
Ha! Probably!!
Omg so true!
Comfort buying. These items provide comfort from a hectic life. We all do it. I would buy lipstick and things to make me feel pretty. When I looked back on all my beauty items I discovered all those items made me feel a certain way, which was secure in my femininity and comfortable.
I think you hit the bullet! Comfort and feeling good (temporarily), then guilt. I do this myself and I buy stuff that I don’t need to feel happy, satisfaction then when I get my bill - I’m like Wow! I need help.
This was so perfectly worded!
I love buying mugs when I travel. I used to buy glass shots, but I don’t drink 😅, so now I get mugs and every time I use one I remember my trip. I also collect shopping bags from countries that I visit . As an asian woman, I really appreciate having you around. Thank you 🌸
I have a paper obsession and was just shopping for new journals the other night. I recognized most of your journal brands 😂 My goal this year is to let go of mindless purchasing and save for a big trip.
Awesome goal!
I've decided to leave behind my lack of curiosity about skin care & makeup. I've always had a good skin care routine, but the same one for 35 years. With retirement and the pandemic, I stopped wearing makeup. In the Fall '23, I got inspired, found you and after watching about 200 of your vids, bought a ton of product and am experimenting like a kid. Whenever I feel nervous that I'm "doing it wrong", I remember you saying....there's no wrong way. It's fun again!
@cathydavis. During the pandemic, I too, stopped wearing makeup altogether. I just never went back to it in the present. I just don’t like it. I’d rather spend money on good skincare products. That’s where my money goes.
OMG Michele, I feel I have the EXACT same hoarding problems like you! I am very mindful about my purchases but cannot resist mugs, water bottles, office supply nor hoodies, lol.
Truly love the last one! Being present ... I think we all need to focus on that - not just with our spouses, but in general. Our phones have taken a much too important space in our lives, and I think we all have forgotten to just 'be', to just 'breathe', to just 'listen to the silence and our thoughts' without any distractions. There is tremendous value in reflection. ...
I can definitely also relate to the sweatshirt and mug addiction :) .... Happy 2024 ... Blessings
First, those earrings look so lovely. This was a delightful video. The notebook segment made me laugh so much!! And spot on for the heels! Loved the "shoes aren't sexy if you can't walk in them". Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Oh Michelle, your videos are almost always relatable and funny for sure. Thank you for sharing and happy 2024❤
Hi Michele. If you have a community college near you, contact their art department. They'd probably love to have your sketchbooks if you are inclined to part with them and have them go to good use. 🙂
Maybe even a high school art department!
I'm 44 and I've left heels behind before I turned 40 lol. That may have to do with my height, but definitely also with comfort. Who am I trying to impress? Give me my flats already! 😂
I can so relate to your love of sweatshirts Michele. I am the same way! I bought one yesterday in fact. 😂 But I love them, and can't give that up. I did do a recent declutter..thank goodness. I think what I'm done with in 2024 is giving mean, nasty people any more energy than I have to. Whether on social media or in real life. I can't fix them, and it's a choice to be that way. Loved this video! You made me stop and think!❤😊❤
That's a great thing to give up! Amen to that.
As I was watching my eyes got big when I saw your pile of note books. Not a second later a thought came to mind. My piles either bigger or just as big! 🤣🤣
Loved this! I also have a notebook collection problem too, so loved seeing all your cute notebooks. I used to collect planners, but realized it was making me even more disorganized to try to write in all of them.
I totally get the stationery addiction…from the time I played with paper dolls as a kid, I have LOVED paper and pens, etc. I don’t want to be cured tho
When I was in Finland, they had great ceramics and my favorite mugs came from Helsinki.
You made a good no-exercise decision today - you don’t need to push your body too hard! I started to hop on the treadmill to walk everyday without any stretching and have ended up with a common injury: plantar fasciitis. Easy to get; hard to get rid of! Great list of things we tended to ‘over-acquire’ in 2023! P.S. is your right earring missing a pearl? Hope not!
No they’re designed to be different.
@@TheMicheleWang ah cool!
I’ve decided to stop settling for things that I like but don’t love. I’m trying to only purchase items of clothing and accessories that I truly love and am excited about.
Michelle: (holds up blue notebook)
Me: furiously searches “blue French kraft paper notebook”
😂
😂 I do love that one.
Finally! Someone else with a notebook obsession. 😂
Well timed ... I have been considering a declutter and then a halt to some purchases -- this is inspiring though I was surreptitiously taking notes of all the notebooks you have that I might desperately need!
Instead of mugs or T-shirt’s, I buy small Christmas tree ornaments from a gift shop. That way, I can enjoy them during the holidays and then pack them away without guilt of not using something enough.
I love buying Xmas ornaments as souvenirs. So fun to take them out once a year.
So the next thing is what do you do with the finished notebooks?? Save them? I save calendars, I have a pile of those type of books in my drawer dating back to 1997..... IDK why I don't just toss them..
Love this Michele! This resonate with me so much because I'm a mug & notebook girl too! 🤣. I do buy mugs to commemorate places I've been or events I went. I just love them. But I have really slowed down on purchasing them the last 2/3 years. Yeah my purchases of notebooks always seems necessary but like you, I only ever use that one notebook. I really enjoyed this Michele thank you ❣
I can relate to your love of stationary and buying things as a keepsake. Another great and thoughtful video and forced me to star thinking about what I would like to leave behind in 2023 as well. All the best for your date nights Really like how the focus for that is on being mindful and and focussed on the other person VS just doing an activity together.
This was so much fun watching! Slightly tempted to send you both a mug and a notebook, but my love and appreciation for you and your work forbids it 😉❤️
Happy Saturday Michele! It’s always a good day seeing you!! ❤
Love this video Michele! ❤ My favorite goal is being present in the moment and truly enjoying time with loved ones. We all need to get off social media, put our phones down, and live in the moment more! Life is too short! ❤
I just had a sanity check with my bff over notebooks - I have so many, one physical agenda to reconcile all my disparate digital calendars, one for fitness and habit tracking, a notebook that is just my daily to do lists, a budget notebook I’ve been using for years now, a notebook for work notes, a notebook for personal writing and sketching, a notebook and planner for tarot and astrology - it feels crazy to write it all down, but I use all of them weekly, if not daily. I swear I have a system 💀 so I feel your pain Michelle ! I am on a full make-up no buy this year, and I’m swearing off new athleisure… I may have to add stationery to that list too. 😅
Hi Michele! This is way better than resolutions ❤! I to need to leave a few things behind in 2023. One major thing would be smoking. And I agree with date nights!! 100 percent ❤!
I look forward to hearing about your goals. You are very inspiring and definitely one of the gang. A bestie for sure!!❤❤❤
I hope everyone has an amazing 2024!!!🎉🎉🎉
See you soon Gorgeous ❤
I also blame the sticker collecting when I was a young girl and the amazing Sanrio mini stationery kits that they used to put out for wanting to collect notebooks. There's just something so exciting, pretty and full of promise about a new notebook!
Thanks for sharing Michele, I love the tongue in cheek approach 😃 I can so relate to the notebooks. I trick myself into thinking it’s a blank canvas so now everything is possible- like I am procrastinating starting on a task and for some reason I think that if I take a fresh notebook and make a list or write down some ideas related to the task, I have started on it and feel good about my efforts even though I have not really done anything 🙄
I am also going to try to not buy any more coats or jackets in 2024. I have a problem. I looooove jackets.
That sound in our heads “ohh i could use it for THAT” just to justify the purchase IN THAT MOMENT 😂
Same page (literally) re notebooks. To me, they represent a renewal and embarking on a new goal. However, all they do is stack up and take up room. I now journal in Day One and keep notes in Evernote (and quick ones in the ‘Notes’ app on my phone). No extra room and I always have it with me. Thanks for this! HNY!
Really enjoyed this. It made me think about what I’m leaving behind. Buying stuff because it’s on sale and never using or wearing. 😊
I have a local Mai Do in my neighborhood and I love picking up Japanese stationary, pens, notebooks. I also collect notebooks ❤❤I love lined, plain, textured paper, watercolor, all the things. I think for 2024, declutter all the unoriginal Target and Staples ones and only collect avant garde indie or designer stationary 😅
I am with you with the cups and notebooks. I think both are easy to buy when you travel. I collect cups from the places I visit and I cannot part with them. I am just running out of space and when I empty the dishwasher I struggle to find place for all of them lol. I agree with one other poster that said this is comfort buying. I too am trying to be more conscious of what I bring into the house. Happy New Year!
I can so relate to this. The notebooks made me laugh out loud cuz….same! I need to do a no buy list as well. Thanks for the inspo. ♥️
MUGS!!! You made me laugh. I’m having the same mug problem. And I have a stack of lovely blank beautiful notebooks that one day are earmarked for important life changing lists.
Found you through Christopher Allen and this vlog really resonates with me! My word for 2024 is SIMPLIFY. Today as I sit down to journal I’m making a list of what I’m not buying anymore! I’m a notebook gal too and that is going to go on the top of my list. I ALSO do not need anymore craft supplies of kitchen gadgets!
I laughed out loud so many times during this video-especially when you kept spotting additional wayward journals! It reminded me of looking for animals in the wild 😂. I’ve already started a major clean out of my personal stuff, consolidating my things, and reorganising. Your seven hours, edited down to three really inspired me.
What I’m leaving behind in 2023 (and the past few years) is being disorganised and never knowing where anything is and the ensuing frustration. I’m also leaving behind what perimenopause and menopause have done to my health and body (again, thank you for the inspiration) and making positive daily changes by way of exercise and nutrition, because I never want to allow poor health and unhealthy weight to ever take my confidence away from me being able to do anything I want to physically, wear the fashion styles I choose, and feel beautiful again! I’ve said it before, your vlogs have been instrumental in helping me get out of a deep funk. Thank you 🙏
Happy New Year Michele! I know it was a marathon for you but really enjoyed you make up declutter video and I totally understand your love of notebooks-I tend to hold on to magazines (another variation of the paper love) 😃
This is perfect. I'm leaving my love for purchasing sweaters behind in 2023. I still have a gorgeous lon cardigan cashmere and mohair sweater than my dad got me in 1983 from Saks. I can't even wear wool anymore. But, since he's no longer here, I can't part with it.
I have an entire cedar closet filled with sweaters. I'll never wear them all.
Mugs are great, but no more. My cabinets are full.
The Diptyque notebook is so nice. You are too funny with the notebooks!😅
I cannot believe that I used to wear 4" heels to work in my 20s. I'd get off of the subway or train, and walk 3 city blocks in those heels. Now, I'd fall down and break my neck.
I'm grateful that I have no foot problems.
Your Luna earrings are just so gorgeous. I like her work so much, that the cat I rescued is now named Luna.
I think your goal of more date nights is wonderful.
Have a fantastic weekend, Michele. 💖😘🩷
I love Luna for a cat name!
She came with the name Baker, which i thought was awful. Luna came to mind, and it's a perfect fit! ❤@TheMicheleWang
Great video! Wishing you and your family all the best for 2024!
Inspirational video. Thank you!
I feel VERY called out by the mug section. lol this was a fun video ❤❤
You are so funny!! I just love your commentary on yourself regarding the notebooks. Totally enjoyable just listening to you😊!
I also have a notebook and washi tape and marker problem. Earlier this year I went through and selected things I could bear to part with. And I put together two lovely packages to give to the 10 and 12 year old arty daughters of a friend. They were delighted to receive them and I felt so good to give them away to people who might enjoy them!
Yup. I am definitely a stationary, pen, markers and notebook girl. My neighbor went to Japan last month ( luckily before the earthquake) and it took all my will power not to ask him to pick something up for me and I'd pay him back of course. I've always been like that even as a child, but during the pandemic and lockdown I started coloring in Mandela books and collected a hugh amount of Sharpie's. I still color, but I won't buy more markers. I also decided not to wear any heel higher than 2-3 inches and I will not buy any uncomfortable shoes no matter how pretty they are. I will not torture myself. Before the pandemic I rarely ordered anything from Amazon, but now it's become too easy to just place an order on stuff I really don't need. This was a nice discussion and you have some good ideas.
Your stack of notebooks makes me feel so seen! I think the name of the store you’re looking for, is goods for the study💜
What you said about the heels resonated with my soul!!!!!😂😂😂
Same! I too love stationary....however, maybe not as much as you.
I also pitched to my family the importance of spending dinners together. The hustle and bustle of life! At the end of the day, I just want to unwind and see how everyone's day has been.
I buy excessive AND unnecessary notebooks, too! I found one at Target I really liked and bought 5 backups😂😂😂. Don’t really use them but can’t throw them away. Who knows when I will need to know what my VIB sale wishlist was in 2019?😊😂😂
Ha I love it! 😂
@@rebuladonna Yes, we do it to support the arts. We are patrons!
I definitely needed this UA-cam video, Michele! Thank you ☺️
OMGOODNESS!! I was giggling so much when you started talking about hoodies, notebooks, and mugs! I so enjoy your style and how silly you are with yourself… thanks so much for creating ❤️
I am only half way through and so far your obsessions mirror mine - sweaters, mugs and stationary. Maybe they all go hand in hand 😊. They are also on my no buy list too 🙈
Happy Saturday morning to you Michele ❤.
I’ve been there Michele so don’t feel alone. There are just some days …
Following Mishmas I’ve missed our daily check-ins! Last time I was in Korea I had the best time at an amazing stationary store- cannot wait to go back. I too have so many notebooks- mostly barely used.
The way you said "Is it great?", with the unspoken "not at all." When it comes to notebooks we are exactly the same. Thank you for making me feel a little more normal.
I love your videos so much, Michele! Such an interesting take and format
I’m sure enjoying your new style of blogging Michelle…. You are so clever and funny… thank you for sharing your day 🤗💕🎶
Laughed all through this video. I can so relate, especially the notebooks. Have two drawers full. I also complement them with fountain pens. And the high heels! OMG. I have to remind myself of that old adage, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." Certainly the back is much weaker now than when I was wearing five and six inch stilettos. Love your honesty and your humour always. But this one was priceless.
Love the nail polish in this video!!! I also have a stationary fetish. Notebooks, notecards…I’m actually big on sending notes to people (snail mail) as it’s a dying art. When I get a handwritten note from someone, my opinion of them goes up 😂. And I too love mugs. I change them out of my cupboard though by season. Also, my goal this year is to not buy perfume except to replenish my favs and stop buying sweaters. I have way too many sweaters. I think I could wear a different sweater each day for at least two months straight! Looking forward to a new year of your vlogging. Happy 2024.
LOL your mug collection reminds me of my collection. They’re stacked on each other and in several cabinets. This is after we donated two boxes of mugs! I also must stop purchasing mugs!😂
I really enjoyed this video and how you can joke about yourself. The notebook addiction segment was too funny! I’ve said this before, but I just love how you articulate your thoughts and share bits of your life with us. Thank you making me think about what I need to stop buying or doing!! ❤️🤓
I challenged myself this year to buy less make-up and perfumes. I have plenty of both to last me for the rest of my life and then some. I also want to save and travel more.
Hi Michele, new subbie here! I do love your No buy and I can´t stop giggeling. I also have the same "problems" with to many of the stuff you mention. Let's keep this a low buy year. xx Linda
Agree about the mugs, i too have more than enough and when i travel i have to tell myself "Do Not buy another Mug". For purses, long ago (about 10 years ago) i had shoulder pain and my Dr. told don't put too much stuff in your bag. He said many women have this problem because if you lug all that weight on your shoulder day in and day out, you are going to have shoulder problem. So I decided no more shoulder bags. My bags now are smaller, satchel type where I carry on my arms or crossbody bags. I still have a few shoulder bags but i make sure i don't put too much things in them. As for high heel shoes, I used to wear 3" heel all the time. Again, my Dr. said they are not good for you as you get older you are going to get back problems along with feet issues. I stopped wearing high heels about 8 years ago and now i can't even walk on anything higher than 2". I gave all my 3" heel away and do not miss them at all.
So glad I stumbled across your content ❤❤❤
Goods for The Study is the store you could not remember in the video. I LOVE that place and I too have a compulsion with notebooks (but I journal)... and sweatshirts (commemorating concerts, etc) sigh!
I can’t believe you worked for Plucky! I love their French Laundry color way soooo much. Such lovely yarns. 💕🐾💕💜
I love notebooks too. I use the hardcover Smythson ones. Each pertain to a specific topic or task. I started doing this when I was in finance. Each company had its own notebook and there were other notebooks designated to topics like models etc. OTT? Maybe. But it kept me super organized
OMG, I work in finance and the Lehman mug is hysterical🤣🤣🤣 I need to buy one.
I feel so much better seeing your mug drawer! It's not just me! I have moved into a new condo. I have 6 coffee mugs in my cabinet - all that will fit. I have 6 more sitting on the counter. I really like those mugs, but just no room. It's ridiculous how much commiserating I have done over those mugs. Not to mention, I have a whole box of Starbucks mugs I've collected from all over the world in my storage room. Can't part with those. Just nice to know I am not the only one...... Happy New Year! Enjoying your videos.
“Bored Shopping” is the big thing I’m leaving behind in 2024! Cheers to the New Year!
Omg I’m the same with stationary, Michele!! I have sooo many notebooks, letters, washi tape (over 100), and pens. When I go to Japan, I have to force myself not to go in or look at stationary or else I’ll die because we all know how much they care about that stuff. So glad to hear I’m not the only one!
I’m also obsessed and need to stop buying ribbons, wrapping paper, and stickers. I have an entire closet of them - do I use them that much? No. But so hard to stop!! Why is it so hard?
I so relate to the mug issue, and people gifted me mugs as well. I also celebrated events with t-shirts when I was little like you did.
I’m a sucker for sweatshirts..my lord I love them so much! I’m very picky with my decisions, but I cannot resist a great sweater, hoodies name it…cashmere, cotton, wool…❤so…we all have a weakness for something. If a person says no I don’t believe them..
I buy beautiful Christmas ornaments to mark my travels. It’s wonderful to unwrap them every year and to tell my children about where I got them. I don’t buy trashy, cheap ones, so my tree is beautiful and cohesive, but it’s a delight to hunt for a great ornament that represents a place I’ve been.
OMG! I said to a friend the other day, "I'm getting on the 'Need or Want Train' this year!" I'm addicted to sunglasses, too, and I almost bought new ones right before Christmas. So proud of myself for thinking, "need or want??" And then I closed the site! I have a drawer full of sunglasses and 3 pair in my car. I do have a few drawers full of spiral notebooks. I used to buy tons of stationery as a young girl into adulthood because we wrote letters "back then". I also loved all types of pens with colored ink (Shaeffer cartridge pen was my favorite!! Peacock ink 🩵) I'm on my 2nd Wordle notebook with new ones waiting in the wings! I need no more!! Great vlog to kickstart a "Need or Want" purchase! Thanks, Michele.
Wonderful vlog Michelle, as always, thank you...I can I so relate to your obsession with sweatshirts...I've gotten so picky with fabrication (have learned more and more), feel, cut, design, I just can't pass up a wonderful one. My commitment in 2024, however, is only if it's fabulous and moves me very hard to wanting to spend my hard earned dollars, will I pull the trigger.
Wow, I too have the propensity towards buying journals! Gotta stop buying them till I use them and my planners up! ☺️ Also 10 years ago I got t-boned, which totalled my car and I haven’t been able to knit since then. I used to buy all your patterns and knit them AND buy more Plucky Yarn to make several versions (which, needless to say, I never got around to). I now know I have to get rid of my yarn stash, knitting is never going to happen for me. How did you dispose of your yarn from that period? We also moved and I don’t have any room for my stash anymore! Any hints you could give me would be much appreciated! Thanks for this vlog!❤❤
This resonated with me, in particular the notebooks. (As an aside, I could happily watch both a mug and a notebook tour from you!) I too love (LOOOOVVVVEEEE) office supplies, paper goods, notebooks, pens... all of it. I'm fortunate to frequently need Post-Its so I can justify those (and Sharpies. Always need Sharpies.), but I too have had to be realistic with myself about blank notebooks, and say let's press pause for a bit until I use more of what I have. I am in 2024 to be more mindful, and be more connected with my emotions. I'm not always fine, and I'm not always happy, and I am very grateful that I've started realising this, and allowing myself to be unhappy and angry. To sit with the emotion(s) and be okay with it.
I Just love the way you talk. it's so chill
Giggles Michele! 😅😃🤣So many of us live in this "notebook" world! Who could imagine something such as paper could bring such an immediate rush of adrenaline only to subside within days of using. Love starting my day with you!
So relate here! Tshirts or sweatshirts or mug from travel. And the notebooks and “school supplies”. Those r my items as well. For notebooks i think its two things. 1. A fresh one. U need them at all times cuz ohhh the possibilities of a fresh notebook! 2. Fast forward to i f ed up whatever i was writing or doing in the notebook or missed to much time and its now used and has bad vibes. But i feel bad to waste it so i must keep it to use “one day” which will be never so there it sits.
I feel grateful to have an opportunity to listen to you talk about feeling bored and leaving the house. At that point I realized how different I am. So, guess what; we’re all different! However, I wish you would share why you stopped journaling? May be you can use that topic for another video.
Michele-so sweet that someone sent you the Armani Prive set! I’m still loving the incense one (don’t know the proper spelling off the top of my head) that I splurged on, which I now get compliments on, all thanks to you 😊. You’re right, it is so interesting! Something I’m leaving behind in 2023 is overconsumption of makeup! I can still watch/enjoy beauty content without feeling like I have to buy it all (I say, having just admitted to spending hard earned $ on fragrance)😂!!
I think your attraction to notebooks is the universe trying to tell you something...maybe you have a strong desire to express yourself...upping your organization game...a desire for art in your life...maybe all of the above
Loved this video. I feel you. I actually hired a feng shui expert to help me purge my excess stuff. I also have had a notebook addiction… and art supplies and pens. I only buy and use Leuchtturm journals now…. Buuuuuttttttt, oh i haven’t given up my addiction to other types of stationary supplies. Big hugs.
I love our shared interest of Japanese stationery. MD is top tier!
Love stationery too! I lived near a Kinokuniya for about 18 months and I spent too much in there. I’ve loved stationery since I was a kid. Buying neat little Sanrio paper items brought me so much joy. Hardly ever wrote a letter 😂
Enjoyed! :) Thanks Michelle
I want to have a better sense of maturity, grow closer to my little sister (I'm 33 she is 31) and accomplish a few personal health/financial goals in 2024
I have amassed a lot of mugs over the years. I did purge quite a few a couple of years ago but we probably still have 25ish. I too would buy one in different places we’ve visited. I look at them about once a month and I just can’t make myself get rid of any of them. There are only 2 of us. We do not need 25+ mugs!
I can say it’s been several years since I’ve bought one.
My travel memento issues use to be keychains & postcards. Now, for the last few years, it is mugs & journals / notebooks /blank sketch pad issues, too. I have a bin of mugs & I have a bin full of stationary & art supplies, which I do use some for work, but not all of it. I also end up giving some away to friends & family, yet somehow end up buying more at some point through the year. I use my pads for lists too since I don't like using my phone for notes to myself; so I agree with everyone here who says it stems from childhood - I developed my habit then. I need to cut back too.
