I’m no where near able to afford luxury things, but I think what I appreciate about you and your content is that you are unapologetic about your purchases and you don’t overly try to justify it. It is what it is. Actually, your content shows me that I do not need luxury items. I see the shoes, the bags, the clothes, etc. I see you enjoy them and I’m so happy. But I don’t desire them. I basically enjoy them through you? Does that make sense? I love seeing the things you buy. I understand the appeal. But I don’t have to own them myself to enjoy your videos. You are a calm, real voice in a land of fake people and fake smiles.
I feel the same way and glad to see it articulated! I love watching Michelle unbox things I would never buy/can't afford and truly love them - not for status, but because she actually likes them. I've learned to appreciate the fancy things I can afford in the same genuine way.
I think it’s admirable that you respect your husband’s preference about privacy, sleep, whatever and part of why you’ve had a long successful relationship. We love you michele!
This may sound crazy. But your vlogs have helped me through a very difficult time. My closest friend passed away three weeks ago, and your vlogs have been my escape. I enjoy them very much and they are very soothing. They have helped my mind to focus on something else. Keep them coming!
I took on caring for my demented mom right as my own menopause crashed in. Truly a 36-hour day, as the book title says. I learned how to sleep anywhere - mostly sitting up in a bedside chair in a hospital room somewhere. So I sleep maybe three or four hours at a time. Mom's been gone 16 years, and I don't think I'll ever train myself to sleep better, at least not without drugs. Thanks for the videos - though your lifestyle is way different than mine, you are truly an enjoyable daily habit.
I love getting up at 5. I think my body reset at menopause but I automatically wake up. I love the quiet & alone time. Family complains my nespresso machine makes too much noise though.
I’ve been waking up super early since my sons were small and now they’re grown adults. I am in the gym by 5 AM every day. It’s a magical time as you said. It’s a time before the regular day gets started and it’s almost like a meditation to yourself before the world takes over.
Thank you for your comments about your pug. My Daisy is 15. She is a Maltese cross and has been the light of my life. She is in heart failure, and it has become very challenging as she wakes up about three times during the night. You validated that when our pets age, we must be there for them no matter what.
I wake up at 5:30 every morning. I too love the early morning hours. We live in a high rise condo in Chicago facing Lake Michigan. After I finish my skin care routine, etc. I love drinking my coffee and watching the sun come up over the lake. It’s a wonderful way to start the day.
This Q & A was so interesting. I think you have such a pragmatic approach to life and you’re very grounded, which is so refreshing to hear. Merry Christmas from the U.K. ❤
Oh my gosh Michelle, when you said you enjoy being alone and enjoy quiet, I believe we are kindred spirits. As I have gotten older, I respect the quietness and alone time more than ever. You can call it Zen or whatever you want, but I think when you can be alone with yourself you have reached the best feeling in the world. So, thank you for sharing.❤
Fun video. I feel the same about the early morning. In bed by 9 up around 4-5 (also because of my 12 year old dog). The early morning is a gift of quiet and solitude. Thanks for sharing with us.
27:23 This was an interesting question. I think if you have a good relationship that works. I was under the impression that a lot of modern relationship have separate finances. I would like to know in the comments here if you do and how that works. It sort of sounds like if you have a power struggle over finances that means you don't have a good relationship. That makes sense. 28:35 but you just said I am using my own cash... that is confusing to me if the finances are joint. I am just trying to understand how others make this work. I like having my own cash / accounts personally.
Agreed! I'm 47, have been married 2x and both times had completely separate banking accounts, cards, and split expenses 50/50. It's worked amazingly for me. I think primarily because I've been financially independent my whole life. There's also no worries about spending money that way. Of course nuances come into play. Just my experience! ❤
I started getting up around 4 am for work at age 36. And I am glad I kept that habit. I changed my job at age 42 and I really needed to get up at 4 am bc my shift started at 6 or 6:30 am so I had to leave the house at 5 am. Now I am turning 44 yrs young I am loving getting up early every day and on my days off I just go back to sleep and get up at 8:30am when I am tired. Extra hours means that I get to see the sunrise, I get stuff done (work stuff , housework, organizing etc).
You popped up on my recommended page and I’m so happy you did! I really appreciate your content and even further your outlook on some of the topics you discussed in this video. Getting ready to binge watch 🤗
I wake around 4am every morning (not by choice) and in the summer I walk my dog, do some gardening, yoga and totally agree that it’s a magical time. However in the winter here in England where it doesn’t get light until 8am it is horrible, dark, cold and despite continuing with my yoga I hate those 4 plus hours waiting for the sun to come up.
I’m with you there, I tend to stay in bed trying to go back to sleep but it never works. But I’m too tired to get up. I don’t mind getting older and menopause but it has so affected my sleep.
Your vlogs are so soothing to me…like a friend just sitting down for a chat! And based on everything you said here, I have no doubt we could be friends if we met in real life. Thanks for being so open and also for your commitment to Mishmas. It’s truly not December unless I’m watching your videos!
Oh yes! I completely agree on those early morning peaceful and quiet moment. It is a feeling of being one with yourself and nature. So calming! Thank you for sharing.
I really enjoyed getting to know you a bit better, you seem very balanced! Loved the fact that you swear like a navvy, that surprised me! I would also love a black/gold hardware Birkin 30! . Classic and timeless.
I find those quiet hours in the early morning such a gift to myself....and I respect your respect for your husband's preferences...never understood the curiosity..it's your jam ( with Butters of course) and that's more then enough from where I'm sitting.....:))))
So interesting to talk about money power dynamics- I think it's such a difficult subject to talk about and loved what you said. Really enjoyed the AMA! Can't wait for skincare : )
I also enjoy those early morning hours. I'm alone and can do and be what i want. It started due to illness then work, and i absolutely love it, like you.
Michele I really enjoyed this video. I seem to feel more anxious turning 50 and you just gave me a sense of calm. It's your honesty and realness. Thanks for being you!
It’s so lovely getting up between 4-5am. If you live in an area very populated it’s so nice to know nobody is outside yet. I love taking a walk around our neighborhood. I was the same. Stay up forever now it’s I’m in at 8-8:30. Priorities shift as u get older
I absolutely love that you vlog, so much so that you’re one of two makeup channels I still follow. I find your vlogs very engaging. Also, I know no one asked me, but if I could choose anyone living or dead to have dinner with I’d definitely choose Eleanor of Aquitaine. She had two marriages, ten children, unequalled power for her time and lived eighty years. She fascinates me.
Michele darling … I am an early riser and I love it. I was a marathon runner decades ago and I was so very discipline with my training runs and preferred training early in the morning because so quiet and the fresh air totally loved it ! I completely agree with you. I still wake up early ❤ I do go to bed between 8/9. Thank you for sharing.
I love to see more fashion contents from you > I changed from being in the fashion business (of 20 yrs) to medical related work. The income is insane but I really missed the creativity and excitement I brought to ppl around me everyday during my fashion years. I always get excited when I see you in your closet pulling out your gorgeous items.
You're brave to answer questions about your life...i could never do that,i feel it's no ones business how you live...the less people know the better...and i totally agree with your opinion on aging and living a long life...i have absolutely no desire to,especially in todays world.
Your channel is one of my very favorite, I wish you the best in the upcoming year and keep continuing, l love your style and fashion as well as the makeup ❤
@reneelusty Michele, you're so well spoken and wise. I really enjoyed this video and hearing all your thoughts and your perspective on life in general. Being present and grateful for everything and everyone around you is exactly what's most important. Can't wait to see what's around the corner in 2024! Happy and healthy holidays to you and yours! xo
Michelle, thank you for sharing your time and thoughts - down to earth and genuine as always. I feel hopeful watching your videos and more confident as a person. So thank you!
I am exactly like you!! I wake up between 4 and 5 am every morning. Initially it was because of pain that I have in my neck and lower back. Now I just love the peace and quiet and being alone before the rest of my family wake!
Thank you for the Q&A vlogmas! You have great responses like to the morning & night owls, spouses asking about shopping & being a team when it comes to money. Not easy answering these questions but you always handle them like a pro. 😊❤️
Michele, I love your makeup videos but I also love the fashion, home and even the topics like when you shared about the health journey you began recently. I could so much identify with your experiences. I would love it if you decided to do a handbag line… I love your style and attention to details.❤
Use the steamer trunk as a table-night stand! Put glass on top to protect it if you put lamps etc. on it!😊 love the vlogs Michele, have been listening to you for years- must be 2019 when you started. Happy Mishmas,or Merry Christmas!
That was one of the best, if not THE best video of yours I’ve ever seen Michele! I know you said you haven’t consulted before but mentoring (or life coaching) would be something you’d be really great at 😊❤
I am an early morning person as well… 5 am my eyes pop open. But I also go to bed really early. Farm chores dictated my hours and now my body is in the habit .. the hard part is when on the occasion I stay out late I regret it the next day because even though I’m tired I can’t sleep in .😊
Most youtuber we always wonder how they can afford stuff, do they have different persona off camera and such…. Not with Michele, that’s why it’s really relaxing watching her video without all these questions popping out of our head……she’s classy, truthful and relatable…. My current favourite youtuber at the moment for sure
Merry Christmas Michelle! Every year you treat us to new experiences with skincare, makeup, fashion, travel, cooking and fine dining! Enjoy your channel very much - you’re the best.
Omg. I really loves doing long runs in the morning before work catching up with sunrise is the best feeling ever. Now I’ve change my workplace, dont have the time to do morning run anymore. Its so sad but I have to 😢
I have declutered all of my 5 Path Mc Grath palettes this year and some of my ND as well and kept only I need a nude and glam. I think with the time, we do not feel the need to shine that much or to wear extravagant colours on the eyes. the only colours I used are from Lisa Eldridges Myth and Sorcery. This is as far I will willingly go.

This was before I saw it in person myself at the Louvre. It was just as glorious as I thought it would be. Breathtaking! Love your content and vibe 😊. Take care, Pam
Thank you for your discussion about finances and trust. It is such a challenge when one party goes off on their own making major decisions and commitments that affect both of you and without your input. BTW, missing your wonderful scarves.

That makes perfect sense to me. I watch videos the same way at times.

Michelle, I just went down a rabbit hole looking at Louis Vuitton steamer trunks and I am blown away. There are so many beautiful, unique pieces.
Love the Q and A. Your answers were honest , fun and interesting.

I was very moved as a greek that your best moment of 2023 was when you laid your eyes at "Winged Victory of Samothrace" .... so powerful statue ... !
I also enjoy those early morning hours. I'm alone and can do and be what i want. It started due to illness then work, and i absolutely love it, like you.
Trading Places is one of my all time faves!
I loveThe Mission and the soundtrack too. Such a good story about redemption. Thanks for reminding me. I’m going to watch it again soon
Nikki I love your makeup style. It is modern, classic, and beautifying. Thank you for the inspiration! 🤍

Hi Michelle! Long time viewer first time commenter 😂. I wanted to share that I did my first major art history paper on the winged victory of samothrace.
Thank you so much for being so true and honest! Always enjoy your videos 😊
