Probably just out testing in the area. You'd be shocked by the number of manufacturer-plated cars in and around Detroit. Seeing a three-door Fiesta isn't as weird as you think. Drive around enough, and you'll come across Alfa Romeos, Holdens, Vauxhalls/Opels, S-Max, B-Max, Focus Wagons, and anything else from the Detroit Three that's not sold in the US.
The Fiesta 5-door ST costs a bit too much to a Focus ST. A 3-door Fiesta ST makes more sense. Too bad the 3-door Fiesta ST won't see an American driveway.

What makes it a girls car? Does it have pedals with built in high heels, roof mounted hair dryer and tampons container by the driver seat. Manhood does not have anything to do with the car you drive, I have seen many girly guys driving big pick up trucks. Get over it and GROW UP!!
I'm willing to sacrifice my dignity for a good mpg. But I'd probably go for a Golf TDI. This one's too cute for a man. I'm currently driving a 14mpg(city) G37.
Because manuals are a pain in the ass especially in heavy traffic. Why make it so hard on yourself when you don't have to. Then you also have to worry about the car stalling if you don't do it right. Its a personal preference.
