Favorite or not she is stunning to watch. She has a connection to the music and has gorgeous long lines. The music was an essential part of her program as classical music soothes her. Fantastic, classic technique and overall presentation. Bravo 👏🏼

Kurt worked with Carolina and helped her with footwork when she was growing up. Of course he favors her as do i.

Kurt Browning's blatant favoritism is very disconcerting to me. Yes, I understand that Kaetlyn Osmond and Karolina Costner are your favorites. But during Maria Sotskova's program he said she is two years from having the maturity to skate to Claire de Lune. To watch such an exquisite program by Maria and have to listen to Kurt Browning talk about how she's not ready for that song was so troubling to me. I am, BTW, a huge Kaetlyn and Karolina fan.

kurt NON è un fan di carolina ... sta dicendo che doveva prendere dei punteggi più bassi nel doppio axel .. tifa osmond (quando pattina osmond sembra un bisonte)

It's true though. Maria is nice but a bit boring. Doesn't really bring anything new or unique to the table.

But he is right though, esp. watching them back to back skating to similar styles of music. You see why exactly Maria scored only 1 point higher than Kostner with a clean 7-triple program and two 3-3 combos. Maria is only 17 here? so that makes sense she did not really compare to Carolina artistically.

At 3:20 Kurt says that he disagrees with the goe of her 2A. Does he even understand how goe works?
Sure she landed the jump fine but she took way too long prepping slowly for the jump. Does he really think telegraphing deserves over +1 goe?
This guy doesn’t get the system.

kurt è canadese e tifa per il canada(osmond) .. sa benissimo che carolina è una contendente per una medaglia olimpica ..se aggiunge un 3-3 e lutz può tranquillamente vincere l'oro ..

alex8matt Although he didn't compete under it, I'm pretty sure a 4-time World champion knows waaay better than you how the judging system works

That double axel got the goe it deserved. Nothing incredible about it.

David Zorobi I don’t find his prior experience with a radically different judging system to be helpful at all. If anything, it might get in the way of understanding the new judging system.
That double axel deserved zero GEO. It had no transitions and a shaky landing.
In any case, I think Kurt Browning’s opinion is better for the artistic section than the technical.

@@DeepSeas.. It was not a shaky landing imo. She was doing a transition out of it, but fudged it just a bit, but the GOE was there correct. It should not be zero because of her landing position and her flow out.
