mrsupertjy I know this is late, but they're there as nothing more than to provide support for the plant/roots. They're not actually needed to grow the plants or help it grow in almost anyway.
hey ,if anyone else trying to find out diy aquaponics system plans try Aqua Recovery Tactics (aqua.RecoveryTactics.com ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my partner got great success with it.
Nah theres no problem if the ec ph is ok and plenty of areation, constant flow.. its not like overwatering the ground plants that get no drainage and root rott...
good video Chris. Glad I met ya today. look forward to doing more business with you.
Great information thank you one question do you leave the pump on 24/7

Short and to the point.
Great Information Chris !! Thanks for all your help at the store !!!
You need a crochet hook to pull the root through the net pot.
That's absolutely brilliant. I love it when ideas cross-pollinate between different crafts.
I just cut the bottoms off of them and use neoprene collars to hold the plants in.
wouldn't the roots grow through the net pot?
Yes but putting the roots through saves you from having to water them by hand
How long should the water pump be turned on?
Does anyone know where part 1 is of the build of the actually system??
Nice Setup, what size hole did you drill for drain?
May i know what is the function of the "little balls"?

if you put it beside a window the only cost is the pump

Do you run the pump and lights 24/7?
Lights no pump yes
Do you run the pump 24/7??
Iv run that now for 16 years pal
Superfly, Im thinking the clay balls help "flow" (air & water), forgive my uneducated guess. Seems to help avoid "root-rot"..
No
No. They just support the plant in the net cup, and block light from the roots
Which seeds are this? What there uses?
5” pipe? Where did you get it?
How deep is the water in the pipe
Won't they burn there leaves if we give them water like this?
