You know you didn't really fully beat it right?....there's a secret alternate ending off to the side that you have to finish to say you REALLY completed the game Sam. Until you beat that it doesn't count.
The amount of extra stress sam caused himself by not utilizing the fling jump mechanic is mind boggling. SO many time he could have saved himself from falling but just refused to throw himself over the ledge. The part where he was supposed to land on the skinny wood part is a great example. Instead of doing the jump over and over he could have just grabbed the wall and threw himself on the ledge
