Holes are still there but you can easily cover them with bondo ill be doing further work on the truck so i have not done anything else yet, but the top part of the mirror is cheap so i suggest getting oem
I’m doing the same thing with my truck. I got an 82’ that has obs doors and mirrors, and I’m changing to the type 9 mirrors. Have you covered the hole or are you just leaving it?
@@landonsvlogs8932 Hows the quality of the bracket/mirror? does it rattle around like crazy? I want to make sure they're decent before drilling holes into my doors
I should've watched this before I did my door (I puttied the square support bar hole and moved my mirror back) i could just crack my putty (i didnt install the mirror yet im doing body work to my door)
I actually didn’t like those mirrors because coming from New England they made the doors rust out. I kept the mirrors that you took off. They are power. And then I brought those ugly plastic strap on‘s. I just did my first video on my OBS. Leon’s cars and trucks. I’m thinking about selling it. Because I’ve always wanted a Ford GEN forerunner with a V-8.
Exactly the video i was looking for, thanks! Absolutely hate the small oem mirrors.. they're mounted too far back and way to small for a big truck.
I want to do the opposite and install the 97 mirrors to replace the 79 huge mirrors but I can't seem to find any online yet
oh cool yea that’s probably not too popular
Yeah I'm with you. I don't want the monster mirror brackets on the side of the truck.
What you do with the big inside mount hole looks like the roght bolt goes right over
Great job
Does any water leak through when it rains?
since they are oreilly lens one of them did water damage but not the other
Any updates. Are the holes covered. I wanna try this on my 92 flareside

What size speakers did you use?
i do not know sorry
Did you rivet those in? Or just use screws and tighten it from the inside?
Screwed them in but it was very difficult to tighten from inside but we did it

This was a really helpful video thanks bro. Where did you find your mirror?

Why the downgrade? Usually people replace mirrors for a newer style.
i like the look better
