  • In 1937, the 20,000th BERNINA sewing machine rolled off the production line. To celebrate this success, BERNINA released a shellac disc. The A-side featured the BERNINA song - a poetic commercial song which can be heard here on UA-cam: • Das BERNINA Lied von 1937
The B-side of the disc featured a patriotic speech by Willi Brütsch. Together with his father Wilhelm Brütsch, an ingenious designer from St. Gallen, he had made a significant contribution to the development and production of the BERNINA household sewing machine. The speech was rounded off with the Thurgauerlied, the unofficial anthem of the Swiss canton of Thurgau where the BERNINA hometown Steckborn is located. The song can be heard in this video. It is sung by the men's choir "Frohsinn" (good spirits) Steckborn.
