The HS2 developers didn't want The Woodman open, so they made it almost impossible to get to, and took most of the open space around it, so people couldn't sit outside for a beer. It was very popular with students from BCU, and would have remained open if the developers hadn't made life impossible for the owners
I really hope they don't bulldoze this one, and it doesn't become another example of Birmingham's developers knocking down historic buildings in the name of "progress". Fingers crossed it remains standing to leave open the opportunity for it to be reopened again.
Agree, it would be a shame to lose The Woodman. Hopefully, being Grade II listed will save it from the bulldozers and help give it a new lease of life either as a pub or some other use

It is a listed building, so they'll have to jump through a lot of hoops to be able to demolish it
