- Abbotsford Family Pharmacy have a specialised cream to numb the ears for ear piercing. It’s so good that baby Isabella slept throughout the process, waking up at the sound of the device then going straight back to sleep. Isabella doesn't sit still when awake so to get the perfect level dots it was timed for her to be sleeping. She woke up then back to sleep and perfect ear piercing. Did she remember a thing ? NO .
Poor thing got so scared but the way the women calmed her down and put her back to sleep was adorable

It's common in my culture (Morocco)to have our ears pierced. I was a baby like her and I don't even remember when I got my ears pierced. It's not a big deal...

A child should be old enough to decide if they want anything done to their body, even if th holes can close, they can sometimes leave a scar. They did for my husband.

My mum offered to pierce my earlobes when she was doing someone else's, she used a hot sewing needle and a cork, never an infection and no money involved. I declined the offer since I'd heard the ears are used in accupuncture for healing and didn't want mine compromised.

I got my ears pierced at the same age while wide awake. My parents said that I flinched at the noise, but never cried. Going into kindergarten I was a bit confused as to why no one else was born with holes in their ears for earrings!

I've always believed you should wait until a child is old enough to decide for themselves, whether or not they want their ears pierced. My mother waited until I saw my friend's pierced and told her how much I loved them, but I wasn't ready, I was scared! Finally decided to get done for my 8th birthday, it was before we headed back to school, the weekend before Labour Day. I'll never forget my friends noticing my ears/earrings! I was so proud and that memory of going with my sisters will stay in my heart forever... ❤ 💙 💜

I am the same way! I got my ears pierced when I was 8 and I was so read and loved them so much!! But every child is different my 13 year old sister still hasn't pierced her ears because she doesn't feel ready and doesn't really want them. Its normal. Babies are easily startled, there are some cases that babies wakes up, startled, in a middle of sleep and its normal. Its called Moro reflex aka startle reflex and its normal and actually healthy for babies to have it, coz it shows their little nervous system is properly developing.

Them doing it while she was sleeping was wrong but a tiny hole in the ear is not an issue. If they get older and they don't like it, they don't need to wear earrings and the hole will probably close on it's own. If you feel this was about earring holes then do you also think boys should be the ones to decide if they get circumcised or not? People seem to have an issue with piercing a baby's ears but not circumcising a baby. Both are cosmetic and not necessary. One of those the baby can grow up and decide they don't like it and change it, the other one they can't.

Why hurt your baby and put them at risk for getting an infection just because you think it looks cute? Both are wrong in my opinion.

I’ve let my daughter get her nose pierced and ears pierced in several areas. But only when she asked! It freaks me out that it’s deemed acceptable to cause pain and create holes in an infants ears. I know to some it doesn’t hurt that much. But some of my tattoos didn’t hurt but I wouldn’t go get my baby tattooed just because it looks cute.

Oof “piercing”-guns actually puncture the earlobe just like a hole-puncher would, it shoots tissue out the other end and it causes more trauma to the skin than it would when getting pierced with a needle.

Piecing gun got stuck on my ear and it hurt like a bitch. Piercing guns are notorious for being unhygienic and inaccurate. Not to mention done by people who usually have no clue what they're doing.
@@kollamiller576 Really? When I got mine done at Claire's they actually healed way faster then they should have. But then I had a allergic reaction to some earrings my mom bought me so now I wear little hoop earrings that are silver gold? I don't remember lol. But yeah just be careful with you buy because that allergic reaction literally had puss and blood pouring out of my ears. It wasn't fun and it hurt like hell. And people also shouldn't get tight ones that clasp because if you put it on too tight it hurts like hell lol.
I'm not from the US and almost everybody I know had their ear piercings with a gun. 80% of them did not have issues, and the other 20% had issues because of some metal sensitivity or they did not take care of their piercing properly afterwards. But then we don't pierce anything at Claire's. Mostly at a pharmacy or a proper clinic.
In my county this is not alowed, beacause baby's ear is changing as she grows and the little hole that is made with the machine is going to be in diffrent place while baby's ear develops properly so we are not allowed to do this until child is 4 years old.

I’ve never seen that happen unless you go to a seriously terrible piercer 🤷🏾♀️ I got mine pierced in a mall jewelry stop and I’m 21 years old now but I met plenty of people who weren’t allowed to have their ears pierced as a child and now have a fear of needles so they can never get them pierced even though they desperately want to
i got mine done as a baby and it was far less terrifying since i cant really remember much

@@jayden707 in some cultures, its a tradition. i got my ears pierced when i was a baby and teens these days really want a piercing. at least babies will never remember the pain that only lasted 30 SECONDS for the rest of their lives

That's not the point. You shouldn't be piercing a baby's ear period. She could have waited for the child to grow up and decide if they wanted them piercing instead of doing it for the parent's pleasure.

my gosh, people are overreacting. parents may choose to pierce a baby’s ears for cultural reasons. besides, vaccination injections are also painful for babies, but we don’t refrain on doing so. i had my ears pierced when i was 3 months old, and im literally fine. plus if the baby grows up and decides she doesn’t want piercings, she can just stop wearing earrings and wait for the holes to close.
I am blessed to have got such parents in my life who do not think this tradition should be done at the cost of their child's comfort. According to them, no ornament should gain the status of being so indispensable that a part of the body has to be painfully and permanently deformed (well, piercing is a deformation too) to get it worn. So my father vowed never to take me for an ear-piercing at a tender age unless I grow up and develop a wish of getting my ears pierced. Now I am 23, and have decided to get the thing done. Parents have happily given their consent.😊😊 I know it would hurt, but now I am strong enough to tolerate it. And it DID hurt way back when babies of this age but born in my days had their ears pierced, too !!

Yeah I got my ears pierced when I was 13 or 14. I used self piercing hoops since we had no Claire's or anyone to go to. No pain. I kept them clean, no infections.
I got mine done at 6 months. My parents were abusive I guess lmao🤣 although they seemed like the kindest people to me.
