We've been to Florida a couple of times in the summer. One particular piece of advice which may initially sound crazy but really works ... go back to the hotel for a rest or swim in the middle of the day REALLY refreshes you and we've packed more in a whole day than if we tried to stay out all day. Try packing tons of stuff in without a rest when it's baking hot just makes everyone cranky, tired and argumentative. How many kids and parents have you seen upset and screaming at each other at 3 or 4pm in the afternoon?

LOVE Disney and am leaving for my seventh trip to Disney World in 32 days and have been to Disneyland too many times to count. I always bring earplugs with me. Odd thing to bring I know but the parks are very noisy and all that noise can bring on the beginnings of a headache and sometimes you just want some quiet. Earplugs quiet all that noise which helps with the headache that's started and your sanity. Since I travel by myself I always have something to read with me. So I'm not staring at the people around me as I eat and have found the restorative powers of 20 minutes spent sitting down reading with earplugs in while having something to drink and maybe a snack amazing. You don't want to forget to bring and regularly a lipbalm that has spf in it. I've gotten sunburned lips twice at Disney World (in January/February) because I didn't bring any and didn't think to check the shops for some while I was there. Let me tell you that sunburned lips are not pleasant.

It's the worst thing when you don't come prepared for holidays like these. It really ruins the experience. Thank you Sonia!

Hey Sonia, I do exactly the same thing except I take some cheap flip flops so I can walk around the pool area without being bare foot, yuk! Or shoes that are water resistant. Crocs work!!

Having a 'Friction Stick' (brand Band Aid) on hand whenever you are doing a lot of walking is essential. It's tiny, easy to apply and will prevent your shoes from doing a number on your feet. #noblisters

Usually at these theme parts they have lockers near the entry gate. I rent a locker and bring a backpack with a jacket and a change of clothing. Nothing worse then getting wet from a water ride near dusk time.

I went to Disneyworld in December- not being American I had no idea how humid it was going to be! My hair and makeup looked so stupid in pictures- bring something to defrizz your hair and wear minimal makeup!

I usually I can survive the whole day at an amusement park with just my phone and wallet (sometimes just your credit card and phone will do) but having water is is going to be something your going to definitely need. (Oh and a poncho is convientient to wear if you don't want to get wet on the rides)

Sonia, maybe you can a review of budget airlines like Ryanair and Spirit Airlines? That will be interesting. I think those budget airlines are not bad but many people are not aware of the pros and cons. Those budget airlines charge sometimes extra fees but you can often avoid them by being careful with your baggage, however many people don't know how their 'systems' work and become angry about those fees that often can be avoided.

    Sonia, save me!
I moved to Europe a year ago, going back to visit my family in the Dom. Rep. this summer. My dream of laying by the sea shore enjoying a piña colada falls to pieces when I think of packing for 5 weeks + gifts for friends, cousins + aunts...
There must be more people out there who need to be saved from this monster! 😅

The first bone I ever broke was in Disneyland in LA. I went on a trip with my boyfriend as a graduation gift from my parents and we had a great time, even though I couldn't walk most of the day.
I definitely overpacked but it was kind of okay since we weren't flying, we drove so the could just stuff more stuff into the car JUST IN CASE.... -_-

I've seen many videos on how to pack for a trip. But the laundry bag makes me wonder - how do you pack for the return home?

Disney is the last place to try to pack carry-on-only unless you aren't a souvenirs person OR you bring a collapsable spare bag to check on the way back.
