- Hey guys,
My new cover arrived and here’s the first impressions and unboxing. The cover is from The Superior Labor x BK collab. A bit disappointing about the variation, but I knew that it was a possibility!
Indeed a very unique piece to have in the collection.
I also love the extras I purchased from the Baumkuchen stationery shop.
Looking forward to doing an update video about this cover after it ages a bit. I will then provide a full review of what I think about this cover. I’ve been meaning to do more review videos but I just never seem to get around to them.
I am getting closer to my 2023 line up now :) Hope you are too.

That nunous material is really beautiful, I’m so intrigued. I love that it’s up-cycled fabric. If I were craftier I would order some to make my own cover!
It is so unique for sure and it’s one of the attractive traits for this cover. I’m hope they come out with more colours in the future of this Nunous material.
This is such a gorgeous color even though it's not the "green" it looks on the site. It does look like the blue quartz, the only thing that identifies it is the green stripe. I can see some getting disappointed, but it's still unique and beautiful! I'm not sure how to explain it, but looks so dreamy and relaxing. I guess I need to get that A5 Hobonichi I was so worried about last week 😂 You are right I shouldn't let the paper stop me, plus there are no surprises after your last video! I love all the extras you purchased, that bookmark is perfect with your new cover!
I agree, it does look more like the blue quartz yet the paint is moss. The colour seems to shift in the morning and afternoon. You should totally go for the A5 hobo - I have to split up my A5 pages to fill them up because I write so small. I’m looking forward to using my avec for next year. The only thing I’m worried about is the weeks section - it’s been challenging to use in the past but I’ll find a way.

I agree and would reach out to them just because it is so much money. If it was less money I would live with it.
It does look a bit more blue, I’ve reached out to BK so they can confirm.

Thank you for showing this! I have been admiring these covers since I saw the live. It’s beautiful and so unique but I agree that the website shows a greener/grayer color for the moss. A beautiful haul nonetheless!

It is very beautiful, but I understand the disappointment. Since it is brandnew maybe you can sell it and then get the one more likely to the variations on their website.

Thanks for the suggestion, it’s still a very nice cover and I have already bonded with the colour. It’s a nice relaxing colour and it doesn’t bother me too much if at all while using it. Since every piece is unique, I don’t know if I’d want to let go of the one I have. Some variations have a dark wash behind the logo and I’d rather not risk that. Haha I’m too picky.

I’ve taken numerous photos of the cover and the colour does shift between gray and blue, mostly blue though. It’s a funny cover hehe. Thanks for commenting.
Looking at your video I prefer the more blue tones like you received, I'm interested to see what BK says before I order, if the bluish tones are normal for the moss agate that's what I'll order, thanks!

I have 2 colors in different sizes, aquamarine and blue quartz. Your digital device screen will also make the colors look different so you can't expect it to be the same in person.
Does it look similar to your blue quartz? It’s true about the screens producing different tones but the colour shouldn’t be too far off if shot with white lighting.
@@toxmot It looks a little similar, but no green running through it at all. Both of mine look similar to the colors posted on their website.
This is a stunning cover. The colour is striking. Sometimes when you were moving the cover, depending on how the light hit it, sometimes it looks green and other times blue. Does that variation/colour shifting happen in real life?
Very good observation, it indeed shifts in different lighting. In the morning the “blue” looks more gray and during the day it turns more blue. So basically low light vs full light. Never experienced this before. Guess I got 2 covers in 1 lol. Are you considering this cover? I’m so curious to see the variations that people ended up receiving.

That’s a really good looking cover. 😍. The one on the website does look different though; the color and the marbling. I agree with you though. It’s still really pretty.
Are you getting one? I’m waiting to see if anyone picks up a beautiful one with marbling and I can swoon after their photos/video. I don’t regret my purchase though. It’s a funny colour, it’s gray in the morning, and blue during the day.

The more I watch this video, the more I think they sent you the wrong cover! It’s just too close to the blue one to be coincidental. Either way, always great to see a video from you! Hope your week is going well.
It's definitely close to a blue but it's very slightly gray at certain lighting. Bk has confirmed that it is Moss Agate. I think I just got one that is very light in variation. I don't regret the purchase though and am still enjoying it. I'll probably provide an update on the next video. Hope you're having a great week as well. Thx for watching 🙂
Thanks for sharing this video. Is the material stain resistant or will it absorb stains?
The material is not stain resistant - it feels porous and because the colour is light, I am scared to accidentally spill coffee or ink on it. The painted band is less likely to stain due to the acrylic paint. I’m worried if the painted edge of the band would start to chip off (at the folds) due to the paint feeling pretty thick. I’ll have to update if it does.
I really loved the concept, Ordered the Celestite in A5 Slim/Wallet. Absolutely Gorgeous! But, I do find the Material very very stiff; like it was Gesso on Canvas. I hope it gives over time though...
I wanted Sandoller myself & held off because of Hobonichi Launch. That was nuts as I have 3 Leather covers & 2 non awaiting for the One Piece to arrive so no Uploads. Everyone's lighting seems to be off so getting the "right" image has been unnerving.
This does appear on my Screen as Moss Agate. In the future if there is something you are looking for I would call to request/email beforehand if there's something very specific you are looking for...

Oh, I hope you are enjoying the Celestite one! I’ve been scared to get my cover dirty because it’s so light in colour. I can see that the back of my cover will probably show dirt just by using it on my desk overtime. You’re right, it’s pretty stiff - at least the surface is not as coarse as dried gesso. The colour of my Moss Agate changes to more gray in the early morning and more blue during the day. I hope you enjoy all your covers including your One Piece. I watched the BK live about this Nunous release and from that video it was stated that they wouldn’t be able to “pick” a cover from any requests for online orders. Otherwise I would have put something in the comments at checkout. But I don’t regret my purchase.
I was going to buy one for my Hobonichi cousin, but it's for the avec size. I would love to know how you apply the patches. I have BK patches, I want to apply them to my Travlers notebook, but I'm afraid of using glue on leather. I love everything you purchase and know it will look amazing.
The patches I purchased in this video actually have an adhesive back (like a sticker). If your patches don’t have a sticky back, you can try double sided tape? Btw, I can fit a full size cousin into this cover! Pretty surprising but it fits.
I'm really surprised by the price considering its whole message is about up-recycling. The price turned me off very quickly because of that. I do love BK and TSL but wow, that's way too much. Such a bummer about the difference in coloring! I have a Travel for Life Wallet and it's beautiful, very sturdy and the material is so nice. I would definitely recommend those that they have outside of the nunous material. I was also expecting a marble texture, I'm quite surprised at the one you were sent. It is still very pretty though! BK had accidentally one time sent me a wrong item so maybe they sent you a different version? I agree about the Hobonichi zip covers although they look really nice.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It is definitely a pricey cover - funny you mention that the idea of up-cycling didn’t really match the price. It is a very good point! I didn’t think of it and was distracted by the beautiful print. This cover will be my A5 cover for the entire year - this is how I justified the price. I received confirmation from BK that it is the correct cover they sent.
The color you received is Blue Quartz, not Moss Agate. Both are beautiful!
I heard back from BK, they said the band is Moss Agate so I’m assuming it’s just a unique cover that is more on the blue side.
It’s obvious they sent you the wrong colour. Hopefully they will agree and send you what you actually ordered. It’s beautiful nonetheless! I hope they make it right ❤
Hmm, welp BK has confirmed it is indeed the correct one, moss Agate. It is identified by the dark sage paint on the cover and I think I just got a lighter variation of this nunous material. I'm curious and hope to see others that got the dark marbling variations.
@@toxmot I'm glad they clarified for you. The marbling is beautiful in the examples they showed so i can understandwhy you were hoping for that effect. It is gorgeous as is though.
That looks more like the blue quartz one, maybe they sent the wrong color? I would contact them if I were you.

It is a tricky colour - this morning it looked gray and less blue. I bet I got the lighter variations of this colour way. But yes, the band IS moss… so i can’t wait to see other UA-camrs post theirs.

I emailed them and they did respond saying the colour of the band is Moss agate. It’s a funny colour that shifts in different lighting. I still love the cover :)
They do look beautiful but I was rather shocked by the price tag.
I know, it took me so long to choose just 1 cover for my A5. The Superior Labor prices are steep but they are made so well. If you check, they have even more covers but out of my budget.
why not send it back? I'm sure they would exchange- it seems like the wrong color to me.
On the plastic package it was labeled “moss agate” and in different lighting it looks more greyish. Must be those strange blue tints.

I thought its blue quartz until I saw the label you added…they might have sent you a wrong color.
It has been confirmed by BK that this one is moss Agate so they sent the correct one. It's still beautiful though!
