    Wow! I'm so glad I came across this video. I have a wooden wine box and a deep shadow box with glass and I have had a hard time deciding what to do with them. I think on the wine box I can actually do a scroll saw design and then put lights in the box and it would look awesome. The lid to that slides into grooves. The shadow box with glass, I might be able to remove the glass and possibly slide a thin piece of wood in the grooves and do a scroll saw design on that as well. I'm sure going to check into that. Thank you so much for the idea.

    Nicely done. The new wave of light boxes as of late are really quite spectacular to say the least. The concept allows for any decor to be enhanced by the design (oriental, south western, european and so forth). Using an oriental design, and painting the fret pieces either gold or red, with the frame being black would be an idea.

    Nice project, really like the light. I need to start using my scroll saw more often. I also noticed you wearing open toed sandals in the shop, brave man, LOL. I can not even make it from one room to another inside the house without kicking something and killing my toes, if I went into the shop like that I would lose a toe in under 38 seconds.

    It is a nice project, but my 6-year-old made a great observation when we watched it. My son said, "He should use a push stick to keep his fingers safe."

    I want to be a woodworker for fun, but I need to buy the equipment. I think I will eventually do so, but I think I will start making paper light boxes first to see if I really like it, first.
    I wonder if you know about some German woodworking for Xmas decorations? Some of them are really cool; Wooden pyramids and light bow displays called schwiboggen! You have the skills to make an American version- I would love to see how you would make one of those!

    Sterling, What a great project. I am thinking about doing one myself, but I have a couple of questions for you. When you cut the dado's for the side pieces, was your measurement 1/4" off the edge? Second question is what is the name of the paper you put on the backside of the image? Great project. Look forward in watching more of your videos.

    • @SterlingsWoodcrafts
      @SterlingsWoodcrafts  9 років тому

      it was 1/4 inch, and this was felt paper, comes in any color you want, Rice paper works better if its an inside project, But I used Felt Paper because it was going on the front porch, Thanks for the view and kind words
