- Right everyone, I am back at it with another overgrown yard disaster transformation video. This one is my next door neighbour's yard, and I was actually a bit tired of looking at all the mess and have been thinking about doing a cleanup here for a while - so I knocked on their door and offered to do a makeover. A young family lives here, and they sort of keep it under control when it gets too long, but once again they could do with some help. Before any of you jump to conclusions, the inside of the house, from what I have seen, is well-kept, clean and there is washing on the line every day!
All up, I spent about 6 hours cleaning this property up and went to the landfill twice.

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. Currently, I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k on a good ride on mower.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on in there.
4. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering we always take the green waste away.
5. I will get one as soon as all of the above are solved.

Win win indeed! I used to mow my neighbor's lawn for this very reason, even after I had taken my lawn out and put in a hummingbird garden. They had 2 sets of twins and an elderly mom, figured they were busy enough😂
Edit to add the way you respectfully moved their ratty, algae covered indoor sofa being used outdoors was just a whole lesson in how to treat people and be kind. I know I was being judgy, and had cause to rethink my attitude ❤

No one knows how to truly clean up a landscape!!! Hauling off the green waste and continually raking up the leaves and trash really is the smarter way to work! You only handle the debris ONCE!
The place looks fabulous!!!! Now, if the lazy occupants could have all the cement and bricked surfaces power washed….. along with the fencing and it would be a truly lovely property!

Weeds will always find their way into crevices and cracks. Nice job removing the weeds and mowing the yard. My favorite part is when you trimmed the tree and bush at the side of the house. The property has ample driveway and concrete paths, and a pretty brick fence. The patio furniture must get soaked when it rains. LOL
Thanks for posting the new video. I joined today, after watching your two channels fior over six months. You and your former assistants get high marks for productivity, efficiency and teamwork. I never saw this in my office.

What a difference George. Be nice if she could buy a nice outdoor setting and ask you to get rid of that horrible dirty lounge suite sitting outside. A couple of other areas she could pay attention to, right up the back and whew! wonder what's in that partly opened shed! This might spur her on to looking at those things. A couple of pretty pots with flowers wouldn't go astray on the front verandah either. George, a splendid job from you. Hope she thanks you.

It's generally cool with averages around 12C in July. We have had a very mild winter though, with only a few days under 10C 🌞
