I’ve been using VA Premium for about the last twenty years between Miami (home) and LHR (old home) and have always had a good experience. The crew are always friendly and professional. For a transatlantic flight, I think the extra room is worth it.

More space at an affordable price is certainly desirable. I have to say the cabin of this plane looked pretty worn as well as dirty. I'd expect better.

Thanks for your review. Around 8 years ago when my regular long haul was with B.A. in premium economy, the check in staff upgraded me to Business. . Clever move as from that day on I never went back to P.E. Having said that, yes it is worth the extra on long haul (mine is over 11 hours) to upgrade from standard economy which is now a dreadful experience on any flight over 4 hours.

Thanks for the comment 🙏 I agree that Business js preferable, but the Premium Economy product is good for day flights where you’re not looking to sleep.

Good, no nonsense review. I'm flying Virgin PE to Jo'burg in June. I dont do long haul economy any more. Anything over 4 hours is, to me, worth the upgrade.

I enjoyed the review plenty of info showing all the relevant info, seats and menu etc. I love flying PE with Virgin Atlantic especially when heading to Orlando, I think it is worth the upgrade but of course other people may not due to price etc.

We always book PE when flying long haul with TUI and would consider it if we flew with Virgin depending on the cost. In fact we`ve done PE with Virgin many years ago.

Really enjoyed this. Thinking of upgrading from Delight on a trip to Florida in September.

Thanks. The upgrade from Delight is worth it for the extra space and better food. You also get a second checked bag for free.

I travelled premium on the jumbo’s for over 15 years. I noticed when flying premium on the new A350 that the seat is nowhere close to the width you used to get on the older product. It is obviously an upgrade over the standard economy seat but is still snug. If booking VA I would look to fly on an older plane like the Dreamliner that still has the older seat widths. That being said, I wouldn’t fly VA because BA blows them out the water when it comes to price.

Being 6ft 7 its PE or Upper (if affordable) on any long haul. Just did a short haul on BA from Gibralter to LHR in Economy and the 2hr 30mins felt a lot longer with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front. For me the extra room is essential and well worth the price but always supplemented with miles.

Gib to London is usually 3 hours, can easily stretch to 3.5

I normally fly Premium but I fell Virgin need to upgrade the premium cabin as they have made quite a few changes in the Upper Class Cabin and Economy cabins

Thanks for the comment. I’m looking forward to trying the A330-900 Premium soon. I think the more modern seats with less clutter and more space should be good.

Looked a reasonable flight but personally not sure if it was worth the extra 40% ticket price, I've flown BA premium economy to D.C. pre covid and the latest Virgin looks better but BA have improved PE now so not sure how it compares, was surprised how grubby and tired the aircraft was looking, but overall certainly better than any American carrier I'm sure .

It is always a better choice. Economy is too crowded and has that cattle paddock feel. I like that one gets a bit better meal and service.

Which do you think is best. Delta Premeier select? Or VA premier economy? I have a hard time sleeping, but will need to. Thanks for info.

    • @DoorsToAuto

Both seats were comfortable, but I’d say Virgin personally.
My issue with the Delta seat was the foot rest extended down from the bottom of the seat, so really only suited to shorter people. With Virgin the footrest folded down from the seat in front, so was better for me.
That said the newer aircrafts are better on both airlines, as there is less clutter around the seat and more space under the seat in front.

Is this complimentary alcohol and other drinks limited? Or can you have a few?

    • @DoorsToAuto
      @DoorsToAuto  5 днів тому +1

The alcohol is complimentary. Everything onboard is included, except if you want to splash out on a bottle of champagne which they will sell you. However, sometimes, particularly on flight to Las Vegas, they might limit the alcohol service and not allow you to ask for drinks from the galley.

Premium economy is always worth it for older, taller and overweight people unless it’s excessively expensive.

I think premium has increased so much over the last few years it has to be worth waiting to upgrade on the day for cheaper.

I wouldn't travel VS as their fares have massively increased on average theses days, the customer service have dropped. However yes I would travel a premium cabin

Just come back flying economy delight. The extra leg room was very welcome. Assuming the arm rests in premium don’t move up so kids can my across your lap to sleep? Felt breakfast in economy was a money saving cop out. Just a yogurt and muffin and granola bar. Last time we flew 4yrs ago it was a cooked breakfast.

I've flown BA and AA premium econ and of those two the BA flight was by far the best. AA are not very good.
Flying UK to NYC soon and this time I decided to go Virgin Atlantic in the older A330-300. I don't care about the entertainment system at all as never use it. I always bring a larger tablet with my own movies and shows on to watch. Beyond the obvious prem econ advantages you mentioned, the seats being 21 inches on this older plane configuration is a massive plus. The seats on my previous PE flights were the standard 18.5 inch seats but they actually didn't feel any wider than 17" in economy as you couldn't lower an arm rest for more room and the remote kept digging in my leg all trip. So I was constantly moving around trying to get comfortable. So it looks like Virgin might be the way to go and I'm glad I picked them.
As to the pricing, when I booked, the upgrade from standard econ to PE was about £75 each way, a complete no brainer for a larger guy like myself and for the extra baggage allowance alone. All the other benefits just seal the deal. I'd not pay 40%-50% more though for the extra.

Surprised from Virgin. The seats look really dirty and run down. Even the food seems just slopped onto the plates with no care.
