Wheein said she almost died singing this 😂😂😂 especially the bridge part 😂😂😂
It's so interesting how many singing techniques/topics you've touched upon with just this one song. It's definitely a stylistic choice how Wheein sang whispery on the first part. This song is a story of a girl infront of her guy, on the verge of breaking up. The first line literally goes "i don't have anything to say" like she's so tired to even explain herself... leading up to the first chorus is her saying that all this time she's just pretending to be happy. She switched her singing style up to that point signaling the tension building. And the end part where she keeps hitting those high notes is not for the sake of showing off... everything is intentional. As the couple's conversation intensifies, her belts signify full-on meltdowns. In 20:38, the part where she cries IM SORRY ("mianhe") followed by an even higher "PLEASE UNDERSTAND!" Man, that broke me. You don't hear the guy's perspective but you can sense the intensity of the breakup with wheein's delivery. Jungkey x Wheein collabs are just amazing.
It's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that Jung Whee In, a top-tier singer (this reaction vid is one of the many proofs), is also a top-tier dancer, artist, and so much more. She's also very smart and excels in everything she tries (e.g., drums, archery). I mean, it's like she has it all. Btw, INTHEMOOD (her solo comeback) is just around the corner! 🦋🦋🦋
Thanks for the breakdown on the wonderful things Wheein does with her voice. Jungkey is a songwriter/producer and pianist who recruited Wheein to sing this song. It was a #1 hit in Korea. They later collabed on another gorgeous ballad called Goodbye, which was another Top 10 hit. Too bad most of the comments so far are spam requesting another singer rather than comments on the beauty of the song and the singing and what you had to say about it.

@@danaei3545 Agreed. Rude and childish, like sending a letter to your grandparents reading "Send money" or like baby birds demanding to be fed. Besides the disrespect towards the artist they discussed there should be some word of thanks for their effort and instruction and all the work that went into making this video. I'm not a singer but I learned a lot and gained more appreciation and understanding of Wheein as a singer.

jung wheein has a voice unlike any other. Anymore is still one of my most loved ballads because of her honey vocals. wheein is truly a national treasure 💎
Fun fact, this is the song that garnered Wheein her first music show win, and it was all done without any promotions. It also made her the VERY first female soloist from a 3rd generation Kpop girl groups to achieve that distinction. Again, kind of impressive considering she hardly promoted it at all.
i love that this is THE song that wheein avoids doing live. she said more than once she nearly died doing this track. also, solar trying to do this tune for the song swap featured in their recent tour was HILARIOUS. an artiste she collaborated with said once that wheein's voice has the power to shift time and space, and truer words have never been said.

There's a running joke within the fandom that Wheein sings like she's been through multiple divorces with how much emotion she shows with her voice, especially when it's a ballad. I just wanted to say that i listen to a bunch of vocal teachers on youtube, but you guys are the only ones who say stuff i understand, and that resonates with my experience singing 😂😂 also thank you Chase for sharing how you struggle with efficiency!! I never knew how to put it into words cause i don't know that much about singing yet, but it was nice to hear someone talented and experienced saying they share the same struggle
The other thing is a lot of 'classical' singing is oriented towards Latin/Italian vowels but Korean has some vowel sounds that your opera teacher would NEVER let you sing like 어 (uh) and 으 (euh). If you change those to a 'pure' sound like an English speaker (with certain accents) would while singing it will change the word. It always catches my ear when a Korean singer holds a long drawn out euh sound.

You have to listen to a brother sister duo korean group called AKMU. They just recently did a killing voice episode, but they always sing live and their vocals are always on point! They can harmonize on the spot and turn anything into a song. There’s an episode of a variety show called knowing brothers where they were guests and made up tunes to random books on the shelves! They are AMAZING!
