    The lite is my favorite. I do multiple 30 mile rides on it and have a blast. I live in bethesda and there are hills galore. It’s a lot of power if you peddle and don’t mind put in some effort. Great video! I have a second battery for when I want to ride all day ;). Lectric is really hitting it out if the park on price, cost, quality.

    Good comparison. My two choices were between the Tesgo SST and the Lectric 3.0. The Tesgo has a 1000w. motor, but it's heavier and another $400.

      @@JeremiahMcintosh Great followup test video! Better than the first with a more controlled surface! 👍But yah your chart flashed so fast I missed it too! Showing at the end of the video is where it counts most you know. Your list pretty much matches my list, but I prioritized Max Speed first, then Min. speed to climb the hill, because if you crawl up slowly, who cares, might as well be peddling! 😅 Surprised how poor the Gforce ZF and T42 performed and esp. when you see how the Max speed drops out so fast to a crawl!? Somethings gotta be up with their batteries or controllers? Any idea what may cause that?

    I watched your 1st video and was amazed at how few bikes were able to climb the hill. It made me a better informed customer on my next Ebike. Ebike Companies make alot of performance claims about their products. You, however cleared the playing field. Thank You! I was surprised again by the results of this 2nd test. That Euphree Robin with a 500 watt motor beat alot of the 750 watt bikes. Let us all be better informed by watching JM's videos!!!!!!

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  Рік тому +1

      Yeah unfortunately that’s the the only downfall of adding a suspension seat post it adds around 3 1/2 to 4 inches to the seat height.

    • @ggebhard1
      @ggebhard1 Рік тому

      @@JeremiahMcintosh That's a good point about the suspension seat post added inches to the seat height. I'm going to get one with a Cloud 9 seat, but I think I'll be okay as I've had to raise my stock seat about that height, because my new knee won't bend as far as needed , on the top of the peddle cycle, with the seat all the way down. I love it all the way down, when both feet are flat on the ground when stopped, but while peddling, it's killing my knee replacement. Dang it's hard to get old! But, I love my new Kommoda!! Thanks for the discount! Pretty soon I'm going to use your Amazon link to purchase a lot of accessories! Just need to figure out the right mirrors and seat post size for my Kommoda. Even though I used to teach my 4th graders metric, that was in the 70's! So, I'm new to metric and not confident in measuring. I need to get a metric tape. All I have is a really old, grade school ruler with metric on it. I wish the Chinese would stamp measurement on everything. Thanks, Friend!

      @JeremiahMcintosh  Рік тому

      Hey Gail great to hear from you. There should be a measurement stamped on the seatpost but sometimes it’s very hard to see. I’m surprised you would need one. In the kommoda because it’s already a pretty smooth ride.

    Your comment about having a mid drive with it also having a hub motor, I've been thinking of doing exactly that with my XPrimium as my Ebike is my medically needed mobility aid. There are times when I NEED it to have MUCH more torque especially when I'm riding up hills as my service dog goes everywhere with me in his dog trailer. But I've wondered if you can run 2 motor controller & motor combos off the same battery set, & if they can all be properly controlled with just the one throttle? (Ie: getting the 750 Watt hub motor & external motor controller that would power Lectric's new XPedition) (Also maybe even have an option to turn either motor off & run the other motor alone) Any thoughts?

    Keep in mind that you can have two bikes with an identical battery, controller and motor but if they are geared differently one will be faster up a hill and the other will be faster on a flat road. Fortunately it is really easy to change a front chainring on a bike. Temperature will also affect your performance and range.

    Suggestion for future tests: In the past, I loved mountain bikes but due to my age, weight, and injuries of the past I find myself looking for an E-Bike for the first time. I also would presume that the majority of folks looking for an E-bike would be folks that are overweight.
    Is there any way you could add a pack with weight in it (IE: jugs of water) or maybe a Kettle bell or two to make your rider weight above 250?
    This would help those of use who need that extra help getting up a hill see what exactly would be a better choice. I wish I was 180 again but if I was, I would not be looking for an E-bike. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Peace

    @30:00 or thereabouts: do you think the bafang 750w motor is significantly better than the offbrand 750w motor? does the controller capacity seem to matter?
    I was considering the heybike ranger (500w) but re-thought since maybe a 750w (1200 peak or so) would be significantly more powerful. Now there is a ranger "S" that
    is around 1400 USD and 750W motor. If the diff in wattage is not that major, I'd rather have the older ranger. I am considering the vitalan U7 which is already 750w. I am
    encouraged that it seemed to perform well on the paved road hill. Seems a generally good choice, and really around the same price as the ranger (classic) with 500w

      Personally I like the 20” tires because of their smaller form factor. If you’re a bigger heavier Rider a you may prefer the 26 inch tire tho. Honestly it’s just personal preference. I’ve had a few big people test out some of my bikes and some liked the smaller wheels and some of them said they would never get a 20 inch bike because it was too small for them so like I said personal preference.

      One thing to keep in mind is that Lectric will now have hydraulic brakes on their 3.0 moving forward and they are US based so easier to get a hold of someone if needed.

      @@JeremiahMcintosh thanks, Jeremiah.. and one more question. I’ve grown concerned that a 500 W motor is not quite enough. (For reference, I’m 5’9 and 165 lbs.) yet, some reviewers are saying it’s not about the size of the motor…. But how things are geared, whether it has a controller, size of controller, multiply this and that, torque, etc etc. So I’m a little confused as to what is Gould be looking for. I like the Lectric bikes… but they have 500W motor. But maybe there are other things about the set up of that bike that makes it more like a 750W motor? Some of these other factors? Could you help clarify? For example, perhaps the Lectric (500W) is actually just as punchy as the Hipeak Bona (750W)?

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  Рік тому

      Have you watched both of my hill test videos? If not, I highly recommend them and you should watch both of them to help you understand.
      Lectric actually has more power than some of the 750 watt bikes I have tested but you should look at Newton meters of torque as well, this will help you up hills.
      You will notice in my hill test videos, that if you pedal a little bit, you will make it up most hills regardless you just have to work a little harder. For context, I am currently 175 pounds and in some of my review videos I was 165.
      There are definitely some 750w bikes that have more power than the lectric but as far as the high peak goes like I said, I’ve never tested it, so I’m not sure.

      I got the Hipeak Bona recently. I don't have a frame of comparison for other 750w eBikes, but it seems to be a pretty nicely put together bike. The Lectric 3.0 would be the most popular competitor for this bike for sure. Availabilty and the true 4" fat tires were the big things that convinced me to give the Bona a try. I'm trying to determine where Jeremiah is, because the landscape looks very similar to my area. The bike does pretty good on hills as well. I'm pretty happy so far.

    All these Chinese e-bikes with hub drives are basically more or less the same. One pays USD 1'600,- and up and still has something but nothing at the same time. To test only a short climb is not realistic. Who only rides some feet uphill in real life? A good e-bike can do for example 1 mile in altitude up - a real mountain/mountain pass. It is hard to go uphill with a regular bicycle, that's why one buys an e-bike. Please test middrives and do the comparison middrive versus hub motors (front and rear).
