That's how I felt and still feel about Steph and all of the Divas from back then. I actually wanted them to wrestle more minutes on Raw and Smackdown because in the video games their movesets were expansive versus on TV where it's snapmares and slaps lmao
The difference between Stephanie in the ring and Vince in the ring was that Vince, for all his faults and all the issues we have with him, understood that the bad guy has to get what's coming to him sometimes. I can only count one instance where Steph allowed herself to look bad. Stephanie and her ego can shuv it, Jack! I don't like Shane either but at least he's a madman who jumps off things.
Yeah she put herself over way too much. It got really bad during the last run of hers i saw all she did was bury people without allowing them to get payback.
I can count two instances where Steph looked bad, and funnily enough, they both involve her getting hurt while interfering in Wrestlemania matches between Triple H and a member of The Shield.
I'm with you all the way with Shane. That guy did so many insane spots, it was like he was one the wrestlers in the locker room and not the son of a millionaire.

Ah, I think you have to look at the storyline during those older Steph matches to get it. It was all about her being a coward and trying to follow her brother and father by "competing" in the ring, but she always resorted to outside help and privilege. It was a way to make her a hated heel, and it worked. The matches were supposed to be bad on her part, that was the point.

So let me start by saying I started wrestling in 2006 when I was just barely 18 years old. And I'm 33 now and I do maybe three or four matches a year if I feel like it and I really like helping out at the wrestling schools. Wrestling is one of the hardest things to learn. Even if you've watched it everyday of your life for 20 years, getting the psychology is not easy. Footwork is one of the hardest things that I think people have problems with. If you take me and someone who's been wrestling 10 years and you run a sequence, and then you take someone else who's been training for 6 months, it's just not going to look as good most of the time. There's too many extra steps there's just very robotic movements. They don't look comfortable. So to take someone like Stephanie who has never wrestled and to put her in a main event match like that is absolutely insane. But to not have her wrestle for 11 years, and never be good to begin with, and actually have a halfway decent match with Brie Bella who by all accounts is terrible, that is impressive. Was it a great match? Absolutely not but if I didn't wrestle for 11 years, even though I have wrestled for over 15 and literally teach it, I probably would be rusty as fuck. Hell when I'm out of shape, I get out of breath within a minute no joke. Like to the point where I'm scared I'm going to die of a heart attack and I'm really not that out of shape. I'm like 6 ft and 220 when I should be like 190-200. Wrestling is fucking hard and for Stephanie to come back like that and actually make it through a match let alone do anywhere near decent was amazing. And the fact that she was able to do as good as she did at WrestleMania against rousey, no matter how much of it was carried by Kurt and triple h, is a goddamn miracle in its own right.
100%. I got in the ring a couple of times for a charity event I did. I was not there as a wrestler, simply a performer. And part of my "training" was about footwork. Granted, I just got shoved around, got a move and even a stinkface lol, but it was all about making the performance work. I wasn't there to put on a 5 star match lol.
Might be Interesting to do a video on Maxine's run in WWE. It was short, lot of people feel she was wasted and that it was one of the biggest mishandlings in the women's division back then.
@@codyfriesser8807 I mean Markyd did Big Daddy V's run and he was in WWF/WWE as Mabel, Viscera and Big Daddy V. So I think Curryman could still be reviewed (provided he wrestled less than 30 matches of course).
This has gotta easily be the more diverse video we have seen yet in this series. We literally got to see Steph evolve over the years. Unfortunately, it never got any better whatsoever, but still definitely an interesting time capsule. Let's hope she decides to never wrestle again.
Sorry, but against Brie Bella, she looked like the one, who knew, what to do in that ring. Not that I need her in the ring anymore and not that she ever´d be considered for a 5-Star-Match-Contender, but I think, she is not so bad as many people think. - because of the way they presented her.
She is my favorite. I liked her as GM of Smackdown. She is a queen lol. She played her part well. The McMahon disfunction wouldn't have worked without her. She was in the big angle back in the day being sacrificed by the ministry of darkness. Geez
@@JohnSmith-xg9wx lay the crack pipe down.. she influenced every single female wrestler that came after her . Don’t let your personal bias cloud your judgment
@@dennisthemenace855 being influential doesn’t mean she was a wrestler. Lita was popular but she wasn’t the best wrestler. I think you need to put the crackpipe down. Many wrestlers talked about how Lita was sloppy in the ring including Ivory, Lita and Molly Holly

A lot of her matches early on are similarly booked like Pacman Jones's matches in TNA (other person does all of the work and he/she is tagged in to do the pin) but she is actually allowed to do wrestling moves.
I know they were her on-screen initials, but her shirt said it all: SMH BTW, if you need another lady wrestler and potential good grade, maybe you should do Ronda Rousey next. ProfightDB says she only had 33 matches in total and some of those were untelevised so surely she meets your criteria
I was definitely a fan of her looks she was so god damn gorgeous I was in love with her as a kid she was my first crush lol I'll always be grateful of her because the eye candy she delivered when I was young

That other matches sucked so bad that I actually shed a year when I saw how (good) she was in the last match. 😹. It was emotional, like Macho Man asking Elizabeth to marry him. 🤣😹
The rating was well deserved from Steph because she was just a product of WWE creative at that time which is why I believe Shane was allowed to go crazy with his matches/spots.
Shane was allowed to do that because he was a guy. Stephanie got told she couldn't do certain spots (like she wanted to go through a table... Shane, Vince, and Triple H all said no).
4:55 There is an infamous story by Konan had where he had met Kurt Angle during his TNA run and at some point during their convo, Kurt said, "Vince Mcmahon sends me flowers every week waiting for me to come back."
Ahhh 2003 Stephanie McMahon man those were the Days. The Hair Bangs her hitting Maturity the Highlight of my Teens! But I also love the Current Day Steph as well. Especially the Vickie Guerrero match and she’s Dancing and Singing but sees her face and Steph sells the end of her song in the best way possible I laughed so Hard!
*Match 17:* IIRC This was the one where HHH tried to pedigree her through the announcers table and her boobs fell out, and she couldn't do anything as he had her arms hooked so she just hung there until Jericho made the save, classic xD
If you like Albert so much, maybe do a ROH on Brodus Clay & “Sweet T” as a tag team, main roster matches only. Or even the Lord Tensai run for Albert. I doubt he had enough matches to be over qualified for ROH.
FINALLY, Ring of the Hawk has a Women’s Division! Now continue to beef it up and cover Jazz’s recent Impact run! Also, We need a “A Wild Slapnuts Appears” t-shirt
Before watching I'm going to guess she's a strong contender for the first A. She's not a good technical wrestler but she's been in a lot of really entertaining matches and storylines. Edit: Wow I guess I value things completely different because I would have judged the segments more on the whole than basing it more on on Stephanie's pure wrestling contributions. An example being that I think she contributed a lot to the Triple H/Jericho Triple Threat despite not wrestling a lot in it.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account All three of the main McMahons do really good character work too. Stephanie being this detestable, shrill bitch contributes a lot to her Attitude Era segments and again to her modern segments. Really the only character work Stephanie did that I didn't like was her Face run as Smackdown GM. She came off weird and disingenuous.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "Just because you have a crush on Stephanie doesn’t mean she was any good" I literally complemented her in the context of her, Shane, and Vince all being quality performers despite in-ring shortcomings. Go away heat is a booking problem, not a performer problem, the best recent example being Roman Reigns. It's admittedly different when the person getting go away heat is also connected to the booking, but I still judge Stephanie's performance of her role separately from her backstage influence as much as I can.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "Since she was such a good performer find me a promo for the early 2000s that she did not Jericho and not Kurt angle or hhh" Why would you throw out someone's best work just because it's not solo? Chris Jericho's WWF debut promo was shared with The Rock, so should that just be thrown out when evaluating their contributions? Stephanie's character is a conniving asshole who uses people like Kurt Angle and Test to get what she wants. That can be a good character irrespective of the few times she works totally solo. "You wanna blame booking when the damn girl and her husband are the kids of the Booker" No, I was saying I judge her on-camera role and the booking of that role separately. Just like Roman Reigns, John Cena, Damian Sandow, or anyone else who has ever had a disconnect between their abilities as a performer and what they're booked to do. Bratty bitch Stephanie and domineering hag Stephanie are both characters that worked in the roles they had. The problem with the Authority was that they kept being booked with anticlimactic conclusions and bloat. Even if you assume Stephanie is 100% responsible for the booking of the Authority, that doesn't change the quality of the character performance, which was a supporting role to Triple H and Rollins' more active villainy.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "and Shane is beloved and has been doing great work since 1998" Have you missed the last 3 years where Shane's _booking_ made people go from popping huge for his return to getting the same go away heat the Authority got? Shane didn't get any worse as a performer, I think it's pretty obvious he's gotten better, but people started to resent his overexposure regardless of that improvement. Meanwhile, after she stopped being overexposed in the Authority, Stephanie was able to get a lot of conventional heel heat that really elevated the Rousey rivalry on the merits of her performance as a smug, entitled mean girl.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "give me a great segment that was great because of steph not other main event wrestlers" A dueling promo is a collaborative effort. Any Jericho, Angle, HHH, Rollins, etc. promo involving Stephanie was good because of everyone involved. "Markyd is a fan of new Jack and complemented Brian Pillman great character work. He loves Tna for crying out loud. He enjoys character work for him to rip Stephen Ja and call her trash says everything you need to know." This video was heavily skewed towards her wrestling performances due to the span of time he was covering. He couldn't go into things like her segments with Trish and behavior during the Invasion, which are the kinds of things that elevated her performances in more active segments. It's kind of a flaw with evaluating one of the McMahons in the same way he evaluates more in-ring focused workers. Vince would probably come out with the same kind of review if you only evaluated his matches. I'm not even a huge fan of hers, I just remember her as consistently being good in her usually supporting role. Like Vickie Guerrero as GM or Mr. Fuji as a manager. You went straight into screeching because you're clearly way too invested in hating her based on her backstage influence.
@@RC99_Productions So are you saying she was better than Erik or you just never saw any of his matches on either the web or on TV at the time? For me he was basically Garrett and her combined. Its just people make Bill Watt's son as if it was horrible that others carried him through matches because he had no training vs with those 2 where they had some.
Shane to me when it came to the wrestling business always seemed like he loved being there regardless of if he was a referee in the 90s or being one of the voices for Kai En Tai. He's like one of those kids in sports or P.E. where he wasn't physically fit like the taller players, but was just happy to be there passing the ball.
That match never officially started. Brock brawled her, then Angle interfered and Steph ran away before the bell even rang once. And I think the date is incorrect, because No Mercy was on the 19. October, and that was Steph's last appearance for years.

Who beats one day she’ll be in the hall of fame and called one of the greatest women’s champions of all time and was a trailblazer in the ring lmao 😂
And on that day we riot.
I didn't watch Stephanie for her in ring technical abilities.
Same with Trish. Best all-around TNA wrestler. And i'm not talking about the Spike TV program..
@@joebenson528 I’ve always been partial to redheads and extreme, so it’s Lita for me
@@Docwilson91 I would’ve liked to have seen Lita before she became a wrestler she was a stripper
@@joebenson528 trish actually got decent in the ring in time tho
The worst part of all of this is that I remember watching ALL of these matches back in the day. 😅
Steph's run was low key GOATed. She was believable and good at telling stories in/out of the ring.
Out of everyone in DX at that time I hated Stephanie more then anyone.
Agreed. I hate her now cause how soulless she is.
whats the reason that some people hate her?
@@Herbert_Rudolf that she's so fake?
@@JoeChillton what do you mean? Her character?
@@Herbert_Rudolf I disliked her after I read into the whole Triple H and Chyna situation.
Say whatever you want but Steph really developed over the years...
NaZtRdAmUs, Yes, but what exactly did she develop is the better question.

Who sold the Pedigree longer, Lita or Booker T?

Might be Interesting to do a video on Maxine's run in WWE. It was short, lot of people feel she was wasted and that it was one of the biggest mishandlings in the women's division back then.
Still wanting Curryman for ROH. please let our Hawk enjoy wrestling for once
It's Christopher Daniels so I don't think it counts
@@codyfriesser8807 I mean Markyd did Big Daddy V's run and he was in WWF/WWE as Mabel, Viscera and Big Daddy V. So I think Curryman could still be reviewed (provided he wrestled less than 30 matches of course).
It’s Steph never given thought to how many matches she wrestled thought it was more than 30 for some reason can’t wait to watch this
The look on Regal and Vince's face when Steph and Trish just fell was priceless
4:38 you see, this is what happens when you don’t calculate Kurt Angle into the mix.
“The crowd chanted you still got it . . . But it must have been sarcasm.” 😂😭☠️
Here's a suggestion for a Ring of the Hawk competitor. Marty Jannety in WCW.
She is my favorite. I liked her as GM of Smackdown. She is a queen lol. She played her part well. The McMahon disfunction wouldn't have worked without her. She was in the big angle back in the day being sacrificed by the ministry of darkness. Geez
Do Aron Rex/ Damian Sandow in TNA.
Didn’t he was facing moose for the tna tv title at that time

Massive shout out to the underrated Regal Cutter.
Finally... A Women's division on Ring Of The Hawk...
I have always loved Stephanie wrestling skill or not it doesn’t matter it was still awesome to watch the storyline’s she has been in over the yrs
I know this video is about Steph but I'm really focused on Tori at the moment
By far the best ecw champ ever.
Tori was definitely underrated during that time period.
I am a brunette man myself
Lmao, that "a wild slap nuts appears" Gameboy animation/sound kills me every time. UA-cam stopped suggesting your videos to me and even unsubbed me. Its been a couple of years and now I have tons of videos, you're gold Marky!!
I can't believe that first match contained your best friend, Marky. That is hilarious!!
A lot of her matches early on are similarly booked like Pacman Jones's matches in TNA (other person does all of the work and he/she is tagged in to do the pin) but she is actually allowed to do wrestling moves.
That No Way Out vs Trish is still the greatest spanking in WWE.
I love it when Stephanie gets in the ring!
How about the rise and fall of......the Hardcore Division? Oh and what's goodie Hawkman!
I know they were her on-screen initials, but her shirt said it all: SMH
BTW, if you need another lady wrestler and potential good grade, maybe you should do Ronda Rousey next. ProfightDB says she only had 33 matches in total and some of those were untelevised so surely she meets your criteria
Always loved seeing Stephanie on our screens tbh weather in ring or on the mic
Thank you patrons Courtney! I am hyped for this one!
Okay you cannot hate on the wrestlemania last night they did amazing with Rhonda and kurt smh

@@MrRyanlennie2005 cuz Vince had more respect being a heel and wrestler.
Hey, I just discovered your channel. Good stuff indeed! I don’t know if Deuce and Domino would qualify, but I’m interested in seeing a video on them. I liked their gimmick. UA-cam has them in my feed for whatever reason.
Jacqueline got that r truth treatment lol when her 1st match involved Jeff Jarrett I knew this was this was going be horrible smh
I understand wondering why she’s in main events… but to be fair it was an interesting story idea kinda… the whole HHH and Angle angle 😅
4:55 There is an infamous story by Konan had where he had met Kurt Angle during his TNA run and at some point during their convo, Kurt said, "Vince Mcmahon sends me flowers every week waiting for me to come back."
Stephanie's best match was when she face Trish at No Way Out. That was also Trish's best match. I miss this Stephanie.
Best transformation of a talent ever. Where in the 3 disc Stephanie Blu Ray set?
I always love Steph ... she made it interesting. Also every one forgets The dark Wedding segment. Her and taker. That was a laugh too

FINALLY,
Ring of the Hawk has a Women’s Division!
Now continue to beef it up and cover Jazz’s recent Impact run!
Also,
We need a “A Wild Slapnuts Appears” t-shirt
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "Just because you have a crush on Stephanie doesn’t mean she was any good"
I literally complemented her in the context of her, Shane, and Vince all being quality performers despite in-ring shortcomings. Go away heat is a booking problem, not a performer problem, the best recent example being Roman Reigns. It's admittedly different when the person getting go away heat is also connected to the booking, but I still judge Stephanie's performance of her role separately from her backstage influence as much as I can.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "Since she was such a good performer find me a promo for the early 2000s that she did not Jericho and not Kurt angle or hhh"
Why would you throw out someone's best work just because it's not solo? Chris Jericho's WWF debut promo was shared with The Rock, so should that just be thrown out when evaluating their contributions? Stephanie's character is a conniving asshole who uses people like Kurt Angle and Test to get what she wants. That can be a good character irrespective of the few times she works totally solo.
"You wanna blame booking when the damn girl and her husband are the kids of the Booker"
No, I was saying I judge her on-camera role and the booking of that role separately.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "and Shane is beloved and has been doing great work since 1998"
Have you missed the last 3 years where Shane's _booking_ made people go from popping huge for his return to getting the same go away heat the Authority got? Shane didn't get any worse as a performer, I think it's pretty obvious he's gotten better, but people started to resent his overexposure regardless of that improvement.
Meanwhile, after she stopped being overexposed in the Authority, Stephanie was able to get a lot of conventional heel heat that really elevated the Rousey rivalry on the merits of her performance as a smug, entitled mean girl.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account "give me a great segment that was great because of steph not other main event wrestlers"
A dueling promo is a collaborative effort. Any Jericho, Angle, HHH, Rollins, etc. promo involving Stephanie was good because of everyone involved.
"Markyd is a fan of new Jack and complemented Brian Pillman great character work. He loves Tna for crying out loud. He enjoys character work for him to rip Stephen Ja and call her trash says everything you need to know."
This video was heavily skewed towards her wrestling performances due to the span of time he was covering.
Definitely would have given her an S grade. Steph's run reeked of nepotism with levels far worse than Garrett Bischoff in TNA.
Mic skills though at least she can talk
How much worst would you say Garrett and Stephanie were compared to Erik Watts though?
@@seinenwax94jr9 Regarding Steph, A for promos and mic skills, especially in her later run. S for wrestling ability.
Hard no.
We were never told Stephanie was actually good. Her being shit in the ring was actually the story for almost all of those matches.
'A wild slapnuts appeared' is my favorite running gag ever.

Jeff Jarrett doing the J.O.B to Stephanie as the first match is gold.
Rhonda Rousey only had 30 televised matches. You could do a video on her.

Shane is the only McMahon who seems like a decent human being imo.
@Kwame brown and Jim cornette burner account good point.
Until you remember he worked in China for many years, which explains his absence from WWE.
@@Lenoh what did he do there?
Shane to me when it came to the wrestling business always seemed like he loved being there regardless of if he was a referee in the 90s or being one of the voices for Kai En Tai. He's like one of those kids in sports or P.E. where he wasn't physically fit like the taller players, but was just happy to be there passing the ball.

You forgot Stephanie McMahon vs Brock Lesnar from November 11th 2003.
That match never officially started. Brock brawled her, then Angle interfered and Steph ran away before the bell even rang once.
And I think the date is incorrect, because No Mercy was on the 19. October, and that was Steph's last appearance for years.
@@sophieschollsreinkarnation5078 the match did start, it never ended. The bell did ring, it just never rang to end the matchup.
