The circulating mintage figures for 2023 have just been released. This is a quick video giving you an overview of the numbers involved and a surprise for Atlantic Salmon 50p collectors!!
Bees £1 = 10,030,000
Atlantic Salmon 50p = 200,000 (10,000 fewer than the Kew Gardens!!)
National Flowers £2 = 0
Puffin 20p = 525,000
Capercaillie 10p = 600,000
Oak Tree Leaf 5p = 32,400,000
Red Squirrel 2p = 0
Hazel Dormouse 1p = 600,000

I think we've already done that with the 2023 Privy set... which still only around £32 with the Royal Mint, but the non-Privy coin has changed hands on Ebay for £25-£50 over the last few months. Prices will only go up. I reckon the RM likes to sit back and the world burn in these situations 🤣 Cheers.

Well, that didn't take long!! I have heard that several "buy it now" auctions were cancelled and removed and subsequently replaced with a considerably higher asking price. I have 1 circulated 2023 50p, so I won't be lining anyone's pockets! Cheers.

Hi Colin. These will be the ones without the mark. The Privy marked coins weren't intended for circulation, so actual mintage numbers aren't often given, as some commemorative coins could be minted in large numbers but released to collectors over a long period. I believe the 2023 Privy set are only available from the RM until the end of October, after which they might be able to release mintage figures.... but don't hold your breath! Cheers.
@@LesCoins-uk thanks Les. Mine is the commemorative 2024 set and the 50p has no privy mark so does that count?
@@LesCoins-uk the 2023 RM set 50p does have the privy mark on the back whereas the 2024 doesn't...please correct me if I wrong?
@@ColinMackenzie-lc4ec The 2024 set doesn't have the Privy, only the 2023, and the 2024 set isn't likely to be issued as circulating coinage.
@@ColinMackenzie-lc4ec Yes, the 2023 set has the mark next to the King's neck, and the reverses are just the image and face value. Coins bearing the Privy are not intended for circulation. The 2024 set is identical to 2023 except no Privy mark and the year has changed.
