This deserves so many more views man, the quality of the footage, the straight raw and genuine preformance of their early days, just pure amazingness overall
This show was before the first album came out but after the first EP and everyone, literally every one in the place knew the lyrics and it blew my mind. 15 years ago, it was July 31, 2005, not 2004, and even though Anthony says something like “wow, can’t believe the sun is still fucking out”, (it wasn’t) it was incredibly warm and incredibly summer time in the city, and everything felt great, maybe, partially, because we had been drinking a bunch of cheap Tenderloin liquor on rooftops just off Market street before the set. I had a friend with a broken arm, his “cast” is mentioned a lot, he is holding up Anthony with one hand during the wilder parts of the set, and hell it was fun, the people behind us, holding us up, and so on. My friend with the broken arm, caught the one not broken drumstick with his one not broken arm, which is now on the roof of an adjacent building cause he had to throw it away when knocking out someone as we all left ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀when Anthony Green yells, “I’ll settle this dispute right now, that guy would kick that other guy’s ass” he was referring to my buddy with the broken arm kicking the other guys ass and he was right, and after the show he did with one swing, no bad blood, now, but if you have watched this video, it is not an exaggeration, it got wild, and one dude got knocked out by a one handed man at the expense of the drum stick. Some one should go get that drum stick. The person who filmed this is an absolute legend! I wish I still had their contact. Silicon Valley had not come into the city yet (a good thing), so everything was still just SF. The only cell phone in the whole set is a single flip phone you see once and awhile. God bless.
