He doesn't even have to try, just flows naturally, great live performance
@@akerockstar •💯👏👏👏
RIGHT. EFFORTLESS
He's one of the male raw singers...
Some people are just blessed! Amen
I noticed he performs by himself. Hella talent. I thought it was more than him on his song but it wasnt.
He’s a natural singer 🎤
He was blessed
Yesssssss
Flawless!
Fluid and flawless
Tevin tore up this set. No lip-synching, autotune, and etc. Back then yo ass had to BRING IT when you performed live.
Yes, sir! They even turned music down at various points throughout the song to either appreciate or ensure that he was actually singing everything correctly. Tevin didn't miss a beat.
@@MadMax-pk8ss Mad Max, man you got a good eye. Your post had me laughing and in thought at the same time
There was definitely lip syncing in the 90’s. Michael lip synced most of his stuff in the 80’s it’s been here forever
@@hesedjimenez2672 Yeah, but that's different. Mike is the greatest entertainer the earth has even seen and people didn't go his concerts for his vocals, they went for the extremely creative and perfect choreography/ total show that he brought.
Holy fuck what a voice live.
For real!! Such a big voice too!
This is the appropriate reaction
Steve Harvey hosted everything
🤣🤣🤣 IKR!
😂🤣😂
😂😂😂
He also hated on a lot of people aswell. On that note good song tho
@ Completely different topic.
Before autotune, we had people who could really sing!
Lol I just commented this
Exactly 💯 💯 💯 and definitely didn't need pro tools. God given voice.
They still had people like Zapp and Rodger using autotune back then🎤🎼🎶
The 90s were such a supreme time
Yes it was
@@EnlightenedGoldenBeauty yea
I'm so glad my childhood was that era! 🙌🏼
Amen!
We seriously a time machine!! I hate this era lol
The audience were actually very quiet during his performance... And the only logical explanation for that, is that they wanted to absorb the moment of hearing that blissful God-given voice and the splendorous sounds it emitted.
I don't blame them. Dude sounds like an angel. All you can do is listen... I'd tell the person next to me to shut up if they were singing lol
They had to be somewhat quiet for a televised performance, the Apollo was also a tv show in them days
The song was just being released at this time.... They didn't know the words yet....
@@WWPTE Good point
I agree…the Apollo was a tough crowd back then
His runs are similar to Whitney Houstons. Incredible
He was revered as the male Whitney during this time. So gracious to have experienced this magical era…… 🙏
@@incognitondc idk if I put him at Whitney level, but to even be mentioned with her is a hell of an accomplishment. Whitney was top tier, greatest voice of all time in my opinion.
That was inspiration. The way he rides and adlibs at the end is exactly how Whitney would've rocked it.
Your right!! Beautiful
@@incognitondc 👍🏿
The fact that he isn't even trying and he sounds absolutely flawless is crazy.
He has an awsome tenor voice old school better than today's generation.
Yes bet 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I’m from this generation and with a few exceptions I agree :)
He’s a very beautiful countertenor a very rare voice type for a man
@@thecreoleladyy7191 yah...also Kevon Edmonds and Maxwell
This music today is garbage I'm sorry but that's the truth
His voice was clear as a bell...and he was only 15 at the time. "Can We Talk?" is STILL my favorite song.
Tevin has a voice like an angel.
I gave you a phone call you didn't say anything baby.
He was nervous at first and then it was ❤️
@@akerockstar couldn’t blast us too early lol
@@akerockstar 😂😂

Cute😁😇
Still a hit in 2024
Wanted to see the original after the challenge. No extraness. No extra runs. Just effortlessly done.
Me too … Tevin genuinely gifted & who could top him then & now. Brings back memories of the good ol’ days & best music ever - his song definitely a classic ❤️
90s will never be beaten in ..
1. Hiphop

8.atmosphere
Facts ❤
All facts!!
And crack
The 90s were lit!
Absolutely positively NO lies told here…carry on everyone.
His smile was one of a kind
At that age who could improvise, add adlibs, such a natural talent ❤️
He was getting coached by Quincy jones & baby face. He couldn’t fail
Michael Jackson could improvise, add adlilbs, and was a natural talent at that age.
Taking on the Apollo at 16-17 you just know you nice. No fear in his heart lmaoo. He knew he gonna kill it at all times
Pitch and tone is flawless 😍
Tone is great, but the pitch wasn't perfect. That said, the performance was great.
Who is listening with me in August 2024??
October 2024
Oct 2024 born in 90s wish I was born in 70s lol
I was only 9 years old when I saw this performance!!❤️ I miss the 90s so much!! The Apollo was everything!!
Yessss I was 8
I was 9 as well. I loved him then and now #80’sbabies
I was 7 up at 1am
I was 9
Chile I wish I had a time machine.
Music was so pure then... can we go back to when music was made for love making not sex drugs or violence!
Stop acting like they won’t talking about violence and drugs and sex back then . Y’all oldheads always hating
@@Malikttv757 It ain't about us hating!! There was more quality and originality in the music back then. Granted not all of it was good. But you can hear the difference.
@@geewizwiz3 false. The problem is that most of you don’t know where and how to find the music you want to hear. Y’all Kobe to shit in the music on the radio like anyone listens to the radio nowadays. I know how to tune out the mess and get to the stuff I like. And my money goes to those artists. Y’all pay for and pay attention to the bs and then complain about it after the fact. The quality hasn’t gone done. The market is just over flooded with quantity of music which dilutes the quality a bit and makes it harder for causal followers to search for what they like.
@@TheIcemanthomas I agree with you there are some great artists of today and it is oversaturated. Especially with so many media platforms.
there is a lot of hip hop dominating the r&b charts nowadays. There are some artists of today that I love. Besides Bruno Mars, The Weekend, Lizzo and Ella Mai. I love Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, Queen Najia, and other up and comers that are keeping R&B alive. It's just not mainstream as it used to be.
Tevin is a treasure
ONE OF THE GREATEST VOICES TO EVER GRACE THE STAGE!!!!
What a beautiful voice 😍 🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That run at the end was 💣
It was incredibly fast
This is probably the only song that I have listened to on a weekly basis for the past 25 years. Damn I feel old!! 😂😂😂
This shit is timeless never will get old 🙌🏾

OMG… he made it look easy! That verse from the challenge had those folks poppin veins and everything. Goo Tevin.
This is what you call RnB 🖤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He hit that “ oh girl” so effortless and I promise it’s not a easy note
The genius of Baby face and his lyrics!!!💯💯💯 Tevin is amazing!!!
90's was definitely a pinnacle for talent. All ways around!
Facts not just for music either the 90's was the golden era
I can’t stop smiling. I was so in love with Tevin Campbell. This man is still my husband in my heart. Goodness…. This takes me back.
Here in 2024😍
Back when artists could actually sing fully live! Amazing
Reminds me of Philly and New York everytime I listen to this song … one of the greatest treasures of the 90s
I think about this song every time I walk through Central Park as that is where the video was shot.
This song is so amazing makes you fall in love with nobody 😂😂😂
The 90!s was the best years of R&B and Hip hop we was enjoying the best time ever in music history love Tevin Campbell our sing along songs
Man, I was 8 years old singing this in my living room. Mom was telling me dinner was ready but nope, I had to finish this, lol. I thank God every day he gave me the 90s era for music. It was truly something special.
One of the best songs ever sung by a one of a kind voice. Many can try but very rarely can someone come close to Tevin. He does it with such ease. Incredible! Give this guy his roses and respect he deserves! Shoutout to Babyface for the incredible Melody and lyrics and finding Tevin to be the perfect fit for this song! 💯👏
Just like butter. His voice is so smooth . Give us one more album Tevin 💙💙
Still has fire vocals
Love this song. And you can tell he loves enjoying singing this song.
So so so SO underrated. NOONE sounds like Tevin.
He sounds amazing liveee
One of the greatest voices. Tevin sings in a higher key than some female performers. I will never do that challenge🤣
This was my baby...we were supposed to get married and live happily ever after...glad that his music will live forever...great song and artist!
We have to take care of this man, he is a treasure of music and life. 🤍

Not really... But he did have a nice voice.

@@MOA0831 , my feelings exactly, female version my foot, yeah right, please spare me with the offbeat statements, ridiculous
Mr Campbell thank you for this timeless and beautiful classic! Watching people jump in and challenge with this song (some butcher it) just goes to show how wonderful and talked you are!
This whole album was lit 🔥
Tevin on point.
Tevin could out sing anybody that's out right now period.
I'm here because his song is the New challenge. I love you Tevun Campbell. That voice omg.

Time just seemed so simpler back then. Wish it would be like that now.
He is always perfect sD PROFESSIONAL. i love him and I love how he interacts with the audience. God gave him his talent.
Wow he is beyond amazing 🙏🏽
Just a natural talent
I wish I was there...
He has one of those untouchable voices. Tevin Campbell played a big role in my childhood with his music.. I love you forever tevin Campbell
In mines too the 90s was the golden era for alot things like music, movies,tv shows, cartoons, sneakers, sports, fashion, videogames, toys, etc.
Just the amount of pressure being on that stage is crazy. But then to perform flawlessly is amazing. Nothing, but talent. We don’t have that much more.
Come on Quality!! :) The 1 & only T.C.
Sheeeeeesh this mans voice 😩
My baby my boo forever n ever his voice is STILL
This song is so timeless....thank you Tevin Campbell for gracing us ...
Está pra existir voz igual!!!
Essa música é de uma perfeição!!!
The greatest a Hit is a Hit
Tevin was (is) just a generational level of talent. To be that young and just tear up the Apollo stage with those effortless vocals, my lord.
most talented ever
My all time favorite song of life. Swear he could still get it at any given moment… I’m risking it all for him- even at his current age 😂
I was jamming this classic when I was 14 .. to this date still singing 🎤.. remembering my crush at school .. sweet memories ☺️🙏🏻
Dang Kevin. Do we have such raw talent these days?
I came here to this video, from a video of a performance he did last year, Tevin sounded...the SAME. Melted the mic.
Gifted asf!!!!
Criminally underrated!!! Love Tevin!
Underrated by no one on this planet…anyone who knows T.E.V.I.N. knows and respects his skills and talent across the board!
@@illmatiK4 I guess what I'm trying to say is when it comes to male vocalists, Tevin's name doesn't get mentioned enough in conversations. It seems that because he wasn't a major mainstream staple, his contribution to R&B, specifically in the 90s is often overlooked. As much as I love Usher, let's be honest, people will think of Usher before they think of Tevin and Tevin was out first.
@@HeyTeeTeeHey I got you. I would agree with that. This generation doesn’t know how talented and skilled the 80s and 90s artists really were and you’re right, they aren’t mentioned and idolized like they should be. Those artists were so good that their live performances were better than their studio versions. Now, the talent is no where near on par with what we had in the 90s. There are a few artists (like Jazmine Sullivan and Bruno) but most don’t hold a candle to the likes of En Vogue, SWV, TLC, Whitney, Jodeci, Silk, Mint Condition, 112, Jagged Edge, Intro, H-Town, etc.
The good ole days
