The entrance leaves an ominous feeling like the guy ain't human, losing his humanity slowly until his skin is covered in the color(s) of madness. Black has done an amazing job.

It’s incredible! His aura, his mystique, the grittiness of his theme emulates a sinful man drowned in the darkness of abyss.
The paint that his face is coverd in slowley is "Corpse Paint" which is bassicly black and white facepaint and making it a corpse. It was made famous by Black Metal which Malakai is a realy big fan of and is a part of his theme song
How the “other channel” couldn’t see this guys talent is beyond me. Love The house of Black!

They had all the talent and numerous opportunities to have the kind of product we're seeing in AEW. WWEs not a "wrestling company." Its an "entertainment company" too bad it's not that entertaining outside of the main event scene for the most part, and half the time that sucks.

Best entrance is professional wrestling right now. The visual of him standing atop the ramp with the smoke and right light back lighting him is so good

The lights going black and coming back with him going from the ramp to the top rope is my favorite visual in all wrestling right now. Every other part of it are all my other favorites lol I have to get ready and get pumped everytime I realize it's his entrance lol

That's been my gripe from his first entrance. Roberts introducing him is ok but someone needs to tell JR and Tony to hush at least until he's pulled off the mask.
I wanted to support Cody Rhodes but this insane captivating entrance of Malakai Black made me strangely get behind him as the match started. If he can manipulate a viewer to such an extent, then I can only imagine what his opponents go through when they are in the ring with him. Black is a manipulator, and this characteristic renders him even more dangerous.

They booed Cena well before he was getting his infamous "mixed reactions", then they cheered him when he came back in the Royal Rumble when he was getting his "mixed reactions"
They booed Tyler Black winning the title in ROH when he was way over as a babyface in Philly
And of course they took a massive dump on Roman after Wrestlemania, but to be fair everyone knew Roman was a heel except WWE's creative.
But they just love to cheer heels and boo babyfaces because they think it makes them look smart. And all of the biggest matches happen there, so they are spoiled as hell.

The fact that Justin Roberts doesn't extend BLACK when he says it is the key. He keeps it blunt and stark. Very cool entrance. I really like when the lights go out and come back on and he's in different spots each time.
The echo coming from the Arthur Ashe Stadium made it alllll the more impactful and memorable

Roberts has been spot on with his delivery on Black's entrances. The amount of punch he puts on BLACK just helps the chills the man spreads throughout the arena. He's the modern day Undertaker. A dark character that is a face for fans. A good example would be Negan in TWD. And on a sidenote, it makes me feel good for Tommy End to be able to really embrace his creativity and it is REALLY paying off. The shift to AEW really started off with his arrival.
Malakai Black is easily my favorite wrestler on the AEW roster. Love everything he's doing

This entrance is reminiscent of the eerie feels and aura of dark entrances such as Undertaker and The Brood

I am glad that they are treating Black the way they are. By now another business would've thrown their "undefeated" threat to the established veterans who don't need the notoriety. Although Black doesn't have the same appeal that the Undertaker had since his debut way back in the day, I am still digging the character.
In my opinion other than the Fiend, Malakai ( Aleister ) Black is the closest thing we have to the Undertaker of the new generation ( but even then, The Fiend was more like Kane tbh ). By the new Undertaker, I mean as in a scary, dark, creepy, and ominous character. Not exactly supernatural persay ( even though Malakai seems pretty mystical to me ) but something slightly like that in the real world.
HE has got the best music in AEW.

As regards commentators talking over the entrance - to be fair on this particular episode they pretty much had to. They packed so much in that they were cutting everyone's entrance much shorter than usual so as to fit everything in. They couldn't do that with Black's entrance, for obvious reasons, nor Cody's for maybe less obvious reasons (I don't know, seems fairly obvious to me). When you've got less time to play with you can't really do the pre match chat before entrances or between entrances.
I wish they'd kept the 5 or so seconds before this clip starts though. The moment that the crowd suddenly realised Black was about to make his entrance was amazing. It was a kind of hushed, almost awed, excitement that just screamed how over Malakai Black is.
Can we fucking not do commentary during entrances

I really would like to watch one of these Malakai Black entrances without commentaries, absolute silence from casters, please. Just the music, the crowd, and Malakai Black.

The entrance is good except the turning off and on the lights, that apart is just not necessary… just let him walk down the ramp with the lights on…
It's hard not to draw comparisons with the Undertaker. Back in 1990 they brought in this huge, agile guy who seemed genuinely inhuman and it was so well doe the crowd wound up cheering at the brilliance of it instead of booing the fact he was supposed to be the bad guy.
Something that could spice up this entrance is having Cody or whoever the other wrestler is already in the ring and have black do his entrance and have the other guy be bewildered/scared while it seems like black is teleporting around him with the lights/darkness.
It will be interesting to see if the red light and eye are a permanent part of his character progression or if it's just his "ppv" look

Demon Finn Balor and the Fiend definitely with the better entrances but this isnt bad
