I do the same. I always use cloth for myself, and for company too. I really don't like paper plates & napkins. I'd rather wash pretty dishes and use real napkins. That is just me.

I too love the finer things in life Brooke. Best table linen snd bone China. When my friends call over, and stay for a cup of tea, they always say “you didn’t need to go to so much trouble” I say I didn’t! I always use bone China and linen napkins, as my day to day cups and saucers. I always have a tea tray made up, and I use a tea pot and loose tea, no tea bags, but I am English. I can’t drink tea from a thick, heavy mug. The garden is looking fantastic. All your hard work is paying off. The plant you bought may be a hibiscus? Will hopefully get big exotic colourful flowers. The question is, what colour ? 😂 I find where I live in the south of Spain, that the hydrangea need a lot of water, but they let me know by drooping. What a lovely present from your Christmas. I use cloth napkins as well. I have even made them for my daughter as gifts. And have made place mats. People think only on special occacions should you use cloth napkins, every day is special.
Hello Brooke, nurseries just beckon you to stroll through and enjoy the peacefulness. I love the sound of trickling water, birds chirping and foraging for seeds and bees humming as they search for nectar. I find plants and gardening bolster my mood and have a therapeutic effect on my overall state of mind. My favourite colours in the garden are definitely all shades of pinks, purples and blues. I have three hydrangea plants and each grow variations of the pink and blue flowers together and occasionally purple and they are just fascinating to watch as they come into full bloom. Your garden is truly an oasis and I'm certain you will have many, many admirers as summer rolls along. The colours are looking spectacular. Hi Brooke… thanks for the trip through the garden centre… I’m staying away this week. I also love linens and I know I sound strange but I enjoy ironing and watching a good movie while ironing. I know I’m going to get some slack about this but my two toddler granddaughters come every single day for dinner and lunch because they live around the corner and trust me you need paper towels with those two when they’re eating . U ironing brought back so many memories! I remember as a little girl my mama ironing the sheets before putting them on the beds. They were just Heavenly to sleep on! The ones today don't really need ironing. My mama would let me iron the pillow cases & my daddy's handkerchiefs. I thought I was so grown up! lol My aunt taught me how to do embroidery work when I was abt 10/11yrs old, so I'd love to sew my own pillow cases. It's so hard & expensive to find patterned pieces though. I really should practice drawing my own patterns. I've never seen sewed pieces at thrift stores though. Only at estate sales or antique stores. I just finished sewing some cotton lace trim on my pillow cases & they're so beautiful. I'm glad u use yours all the time too. They're so nice! 💖
Oh my thrift store has tons of patterns. That’s wonderful that you’re that good of a sewer. I’m not I’m just a basic so I could learn from you though , that could be very helpful and they’re always great fabrics at the thrift store too. I want to buy them, but I don’t know how to sew enough to make all the things I’d love to make. I did buy a houndstooth wool in hopes to have a coat madesewing, I love you.❤️❤️❤️❤️
@mamabrooke It's really not that difficult! It only looks like it bc of all the different stitches. If a 10/11yr old can do it, I know u could too! There's tons of tutorial videos on UA-cam. U should give it a try. I always like to do something while watching TV at night, whether it's cross stitching, crocheting, etc... It's relaxing before bed. 😉💖

I also love old linen tea towels and use them daily. I can't break my husband from using paper towels completely but he's getting better. We also use cloth napkins daily. One thing i like to do is to thrift cotton curtains or valances and sew napkins from them. I'm always inspired by you and your channel!❤

I check out the same things you do in thrift stores. Housewares, lamps, linens, pictures, purses and maybe clothing. One thrift store in my area is very reasonable and has the most beautiful glassware for just a few dollars. So now I own stemware, china , and serving pieces for a hundred people . 😊

Did you know you can put your veggie scraps into your pots to feed them? It attracts beneficial insects which in turn eat the food scraps and then turn it into beneficial soil amendments. Helps keep your pots topped up with “soil” and reduces trash. Im digging my veg waste right into my pots and soil next to the plants now. Your garden is looking very nice!
Well, maybe in your neighbourhood but we’re infested with raccoons in Toronto the highest in the world actually so not a good idea here… you come outside sometimes and they’re sitting down on your furniture. They’re so used to people. My tenant ordered pizza and the guy left it on the porch and the two raccoons sat down and had dinner like human being sitting there eating it and turned around and looked at me like yeah what are you gonna do about it? I don’t personally have them living in my attic, buta lot of houses do.
When I do potting up, I now put down a plastic bag cut out flat. Its a mind saver! And of course you are over budget! The garden will look beautiful, and the pleasure will be worth every cent 😀
I think I'd be planting impatiens seeds to have starts to fill in the squirrel holes! Pesky squirrels, but they are so entertaining. I found my flower boxes "planted" with walnut shells from the squirrels this spring when readying my planter boxes for flowers! They bury their treasures and forget where they planted, so they dig another hole----lol. I try to share with nature.
Oh, I have so many of them. You don’t even know because I have a cherry tree and it’s funny to watch them at the end of the cherries when they start to ferment they all go out and have a party and get drunk and that’s not even a joke From cherries so I looked into this and it’s very natural for them to do that.
Haha I need to close my eyes too lol! My Christmas cactus is blooming, on one side, as well. It's the first time I ever got any flowers and I've had it for a couple of years! 🎉❤from Andrea USA 😊

Your gardens are looking beautiful already! I think I'm finished with all my planting ( I say that today!😂). We're supposed to have some heavy thunderstorms tonight but that's ok. The plants need the rain. The hanging plants dry out so quickly. I hung two bird feeders this year and I watch the birds while I drink my morning coffee. I got excited when I see new ones. OMG, I've turned into a real bird watcher!!

Miracle Gro shrub spikes worked so well for my bleeding hearts. I bought them at Wal-Mart last year 14.99$, I was so impressed I bought them again this year.
Yeah, I’m pretty much organic though. I don’t use really any miracle grow or anything like that but I know lots of people who do ,the soil I buy, though does have some pallets in it and then mix it with the black earth so I guess that’s not totally organic, 🤷🏼♀️but I just don’t do any add-ons, happy season happy growing season all the best always🌸🍃😃

No, I can’t do that in mind because it’s all stoned underneath and it breaks the auger or break your wrist. I tried. I spent a lot of money last year on soil and mulch so it’s starting to replenish itself each year. We’ll get a little better I guess but yes, my sister that’s how she gardens every year with the drill and auger, but she has amazing soil from farm animal manure.

I just love the way you and your videos lift my spirits. I'm a happy person by nature, like you, and it's so nice to know there is another "pretty princess" to watch and feel good with! Your garden is really looking lovely. It's so hard to go to garden shops and not want to take home more sweet babies. I check out the same things you do in thrift stores. Housewares, lamps, linens, pictures, purses and maybe clothing. One thrift store in my area is very reasonable and has the most beautiful glassware for just a few dollars. So now I own stemware, china , and serving pieces for a hundred people . 😊

Did you know you can put your veggie scraps into your pots to feed them? It attracts beneficial insects which in turn eat the food scraps and then turn it into beneficial soil amendments. Helps keep your pots topped up with “soil” and reduces trash. Im digging my veg waste right into my pots and soil next to the plants now. Your garden is looking very nice!
Well, maybe in your neighbourhood but we’re infested with raccoons in Toronto the highest in the world actually so not a good idea here… you come outside sometimes and they’re sitting down on your furniture. They’re so used to people. My tenant ordered pizza and the guy left it on the porch and the two raccoons sat down and had dinner like human being sitting there eating it and turned around and looked at me like yeah what are you gonna do about it? I don’t personally have them living in my attic, buta lot of houses do.

When I do potting up, I now put down a plastic bag cut out flat. Its a mind saver! And of course you are over budget! The garden will look beautiful, and the pleasure will be worth every cent 😀

I think I'd be planting impatiens seeds to have starts to fill in the squirrel holes! Pesky squirrels, but they are so entertaining. I found my flower boxes "planted" with walnut shells from the squirrels this spring when readying my planter boxes for flowers! They bury their treasures and forget where they planted, so they dig another hole----lol. I try to share with nature.
Oh, I have so many of them. You don’t even know because I have a cherry tree and it’s funny to watch them at the end of the cherries when they start to ferment they all go out and have a party and get drunk and that’s not even a joke From cherries so I looked into this and it’s very natural for them to do that.
Haha I need to close my eyes too lol! My Christmas cactus is blooming, on one side, as well. It's the first time I ever got any flowers and I've had it for a couple of years! 🎉❤from Andrea USA 😊

Your gardens are looking beautiful already! I think I'm finished with all my planting ( I say that today!😂). We're supposed to have some heavy thunderstorms tonight but that's ok. The plants need the rain. The hanging plants dry out so quickly. I hung two bird feeders this year and I watch the birds while I drink my morning coffee. I got excited when I see new ones. OMG, I've turned into a real bird watcher!!

The plants and produce at the Asian store looked wonderful. Love the new hydrangea. I think that was a good price for it. My Christmas cactus bloomed off and on from October thru Easter. My Easter cactus didn’t bloom until this week 😵💫. Enjoy your day. Love and blessings Brooke. 💚🩷💚

I went to the green house yesterday there went $100.00, however three are perennials and they were the lesser $$ amount !?! Miracle Gro shrub spikes worked so well for my bleeding hearts. I bought them at Wal-Mart last year 14.99$, I was so impressed I bought them again this year.
Yeah, I’m pretty much organic though. I don’t use really any miracle grow or anything like that but I know lots of people who do ,the soil I buy, though does have some pallets in it and then mix it with the black earth so I guess that’s not totally organic, 🤷🏼♀️but I just don’t do any add-ons, happy season happy growing season all the best always🌸🍃😃

I never used anything like this but happy I did since I’m a senior, I want to enjoy my garden while I can. Like you I spend a small fortune on plants so I just wanted to let you know it helped. Your garden is beautiful, like us girls it needs a little help every now and then. 😂

Get a planting auger for your drill.
No, I can’t do that in mind because it’s all stoned underneath and it breaks the auger or break your wrist. I tried. I spent a lot of money last year on soil and mulch so it’s starting to replenish itself each year. We’ll get a little better I guess but yes, my sister that’s how she gardens every year with the drill and auger, but she has amazing soil from farm animal manure.
