This is the last song you'll hear before you die. As your soul crosses into the great beyond, it'll turn around to take one last look at all the memories it made. Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
here's my take on the meaning of the video: it's meant to represent the cycle of life and growing old, hence "aviva" meaning "life". it starts with him standing over a grave, which could maybe be the grave of a friend, a family member or loved one, and he takes a moment to contemplate before getting in his truck. he drives to a beach where he contemplates some more, looking at the waves, which (i know i'm totally reading too far into things here) could represent the cyclical nature of the universe, since waves come and go in a predictable fashion and have been used to symbolize such things before. he then gets back in his truck, drives down the road and has some kind of crisis or epiphany as the song reaches its climax. the camera then cuts to him laying down next to a tree, motionless, which could mean he had a car crash and died as some of the other commenters speculate, but what i think to be more likely is that it's a metaphorical death, one of the spirit, meant to represent the young version of himself dying off. to support this, we then see an old man leaning over the body. this old man is actually meant to represent the literal old version of the man in the beginning of the video. the old man looks at the body with a sorrowful and wistful expression, and then walks away. to summarize: i think that the whole video is a sort of metaphor for growing up. you can watch it happen silently, or you can struggle, but nothing will change the fact that part of you is going to die, and eventually all of you. the old version of the man eventually walks away and leaves the sleeping/dead young man alone, which means that he finally let go and accepted the fact that the young man is gone. i think this video tells a beautiful story, and the music accompanies it excellently. so that's basically it. i fully expect to be at least partially wrong about my speculations here, but hey, if you read this far, i genuinely thank you for sitting through my ramblings.
Yeah, and the nostalgia baiting comments kind of makes it worse. This isn't even a Minecraft soundtrack and yet they start with whining about nostalgia that probably never happened
@@plneet3504 yes, he is underrated. People only listen to his Minecraft songs only for nostalgia bait. C418 has brought ambient, stoic but emotional music to a youthful generation that longs for inner peace within a world of chaos. we recognize and appreciate you❤️
@topgoon i can easily describe for you if you don’t understand. Being stoic is related to maintaining a positive but calm mindset, where you can regulate your emotions in a healthy way. Working through pain rather than ignoring it. Hope that helps.
We don't want inner peace. We want the world at peace. We do not desire pain, nor do we trade pain for numbness. We desire bliss both in and out; we wish to be radiant within, and be turned inside out.

Yo, dude, do you also feel nostalgic about c418? Don't you think that this composition would perfectly fit into Minecraft? And, by the way, I'm from Russia. Lol
The footage to me seems to be symbolic of the melancholy vibe of the music its self. There's a certain curiosity on the main piano chord progression that begs why cant i get past this. As if its saying I'm not sad, but why cant I be happy. That's my take at least- very talented artist.

I don't know how, or why, but he defenetly has the gift to make us all feel nostalgic in the most magical way we could ever find.

- Hans Zimmer
- Beethoven
Bach
Handel
Mendelssohn
Schumann
Offenbach
Brahms
Wagner
Strauss
Yeah I agree
@Jor Dan bro
@Jor Danhe's an austrian
@Jor Dan First of all, Shitler was from Austria. Secondly, he was not a composer, he was a painter(And i don't care if this was a joke)
@dinoussaro Sorry, missclicked, it should be Bitchler
I was literally thinking yesterday, I’ll stay subscribed if he ever returns, and what do you know?
He was never gone, he has a bandcamp/spotify/soundcloud/itunes account and a twitter just so you know, it's in his description
@@Saristana ^ he even released an album in 2018
The same exact thing has happened to me.
The same thing happened to me but when he released his excursions album I was so happy I turned notification on even though he hadn't uploaded in years.

When we needed him most, *he vanished.*

@@Creeper0550 ok? its a saying that goes with c418?? i guess thats an issue now
Agreed.
jack sucks at elsagate
and when the world needed him most, he vanished.
This guy is probably the most famous artist ever with hundreds of million players playing his music DAILY.
yeah agree
Congratulations you have one stack of like
That's a fair point. Pop singers may have bigger more active fan bases but as for just having had the most people listen to the music C418 probably wins just because nearly everyone has at least heard a minecraft song and so many people regularly listen to his music still which playing the game
back when i was kid, i thought C418 was like an registration or an collection name, but now, i know, this guy, is a hero, the genius C418, the man who made our childhood, thanks for all, you is a legend and we love and respect you C418
I wonder if he ever gonna post again, or just disappeared
Most likely working on his next album considering this one came out only 2 years ago :p
He on Instagram his latest posts have been a few days ago

@@bigploopy8669 For real dude?!
entity_night yes
His music is still so powerful it gives me goosebumps
Even though he doesn’t put lyrics in his song they tell a whole story
Это один из самых оригинальных и креативных музыкантов которых я только знаю... Спасибо за прекрасное детство... Даниэль...
He is one of the most original and creative musicians I know... Thank you for a wonderful childhood... Daniel...
This guy is 50% of why i LOVE Minecraft and 50% of why my life has a little of a meaning. You are making the Best Soundtrack songs!!!
Agreed
There is something so other worldly about his music that’s make it feel like listening to his music is never enough, like I can’t GET enough
EXACTLYYY MAAAN
Mr nostalgiatunes is back :D
its crazy to think that this dude is an actual LEGEND. his songs have formed peoples lives, and have been played probably billions of times by now.
Without the music he has put in the game, I wouldn’t have as much nostalgia.
Glad you said it exactly like this) his music is very great, but we have nostalgia because of minecraft ost he made)
Dass diese Legende Deutsch ist hätte ich auch nie erwartet. Krass. Danke für deine Lieder! Sie helfen mir bei allem.
i was having a rough day but honestly this made me feel so good

i hope you read this Daniel. your sound is so beautiful. i always come back to your music and it brings me to tears every time. you should be so proud of your self. you have truly done something amazing in this world.
When we see brilliant musicians make music as beautiful as this, it needs to be remembered that good music comes with emotion. C418 seems to be a perfect example that celebreties don't live perfect lives, they suffer just as much as we do. Daniel, if you're reading this, we hope you are well and that nothing is hurting you at the moment.
Imagine how empty and dead minecraft would feel without c418. I have listened to pretty much every c418 song now and my life no longer feels empty or dead. Thanks for the magic
Your amazing music has taught me a lesson. Do not sit on your ass all day and do something that has impacted someone else's life in a good/ helpful way. So i did whats right. i helped people really old people with cleaning bringing their food and washing their clothes and i really dont get something for return but i like what im doing and im not planning to stop helping those people in need very soon. Pleasw share this so maybe it can help someone else in doing something good. Thank you soo much c418 for your amazing music and stay safe everyone.
amazing. . .
All of your music feels like that feeling when you're on the cusp of falling asleep and everything just feels senseless and comfortable at the same time. I love it.
How mysterious!
Excursions is *such* a masterpiece. I've been following your music for awhile now, and your ability to create magical soundscapes is really quite unprecedented. Can't wait to see what you come up with next :)
You made my childhood what it is. Millions of people now love and care for the music you created. Never forget how important you are! Thank you
God... This song takes me to another place...
Thank you for making my childhood with minecraft more fun
You made the noises of my childhood and many others. Thank you

Why is everyone on this platform not following this man, his music is iconic
I miss this guys Minecraft music. Ever since I first heard the first track, I loved it. Look at me 7 years later, still love it. Keep up the work. Your an inspiration to all. Love this music too
Wow even though nobody will see this, it’s strange to see me comment on my comment from 3+ years ago. Still feel the same way, just more distant. Stay safe everyone
I’m getting older, and much quicker. I don’t even remember the second comment. Oh how time flies by
His sound design is so simple yet his music theory is such complex and fascinating
Another masterpiece from C418! Impressive as always!
The minecarft community appreciates your work you may now rest there are no more monsters nearby
Thank you for making the freaking caves sounds
Lol
If any of you were wondering the true definition of C418
It's "The most underrated and incredible musician to exist"
He literally changes his profile more than he makes vids.

But I appreciate it.

c418, maybe you will never see this, but your work is incredible and is not compared or equaled by any artist, it is unique and that is what makes it so special, thank you for making Minecraft music, whether or not you work with Microsoft, you are , and you will be a legend
how does it feel being the most musically talented man of the past decade?
Bro.. This is a masterpiece.. His music is so underrated
Just wanted to let you know your music is my childhood, the hours spent gaming, building houses, killing mobs, watching my favorite UA-camrs, beating the ender dragon for the first time, making my most prized world, staying up all night just to figure this world that u helped create, thank u for making this and forever may u be healthy and make memories.
We dont know where you are but we will always miss you LEGEND
You made our childhoods and we are glad about it Hope you have happy life
He still posts stuff on Twitter, and he's probably either busy with making a new album, or tired of making music and having a break.
@@majman446 Thanks for Info
i dont know why he doesnt have a million, 10 million, maybe even 100 million followers. c418 has a way with music that no one else does. Its different, and its the reason its so good. i wish he could get a even bigger following, maybe it would help motivate him in making more music. every track ive listened to countless times, each time getting better. He's way of music is just so different and so good, i wish the entire world could hear it. Love you c418
I thought already, this sounds familliar! That is because it is from excursions wich I already bought and have listened to for a very long time!
Haha, same thing happened to me
I think you are genius C418, literally every your song leaves inside me so much emotions, that's something more than music, that's so abstract but at the same moment so sharp, I can't describe this with words. And thank you for happy childhood, you are in our hearts forever!

@Arrow Dynamics Inc. the next best nostalgia game
@Arrow Dynamics Inc. Lena Raine fucking sucks her music is all the same and doesn't feel Minecraft enough
The first time I cry because of a music :'(
Yo, dude, do you also feel nostalgic about c418? Don't you think that this composition would perfectly fit into Minecraft? And, by the way, I'm from Russia. Lol
@@Street_Racer86 Man, this music is pure nostalgia, it's make me want to come back to the good old days 💔
I’m trying to understand the message or symbols in this video
The footage to me seems to be symbolic of the melancholy vibe of the music its self. There's a certain curiosity on the main piano chord progression that begs why cant i get past this. As if its saying I'm not sad, but why cant I be happy. That's my take at least- very talented artist.
@@klpxx23 Couldn't have said it better.Thank you for the great explanation,Sebastian.
He said on his website Aviva was supposed to be a gift for someone he knew. But he didn’t want to hide it. I’m guessing it’s for a friend or family.
Happy birthday bro. You made the best soundtrack for everyone's favorite game.
I love your style! Almost like you have your own genre
he hsould have a genre called nostalgia or something.
He has a genre: called C418. No one composes anything like him

418 views.. Nice video C418!
I wish I was that early
Never ask “anyone here?” As we are always here c418 is in our hearts forever
C418 deserves more respect. He made one of the greatest soundtracks for the most revolutionary and popular games to date
I’m actually trying to analyze this video
Theres the part that he’s driving and music intense up then just stop.
I think he had a car crash but then the next cut he’s lying next to the tree now, he’s dead or dreaming?
he was visiting his dads grave, car accident , then boom im guessing that was his dad since his heart maybe stopped then came back
@Crow Of Judgement Theyre trying to analyze the music video lol, doesnt mean hes dead
this mans talent has and had the power to touch all of our souls with the tracks he produced, making us feel so nostalgic and happy when we think about the tracks we listened to when playing minecraft. yes, minecraft was most of our childhood elite games, but, what would it have been without c418? because of this man, we are able to relisten to his tracks, and be swarmed with nostalgia and happiness that we loved hearing when we were younger, and still do.
the way your talent can be that powerful to be that touching and comforting… it’s something no other artist could possess. thank you c418. ❤
