'Go running' is the most personal song and video of our debut album. It is dedicated to the sudden passing of Rogier's dad Jan, caused by a careless driver who ran him over at the parking lot of the supermarket on December 14th 2022.
He died on December 20, 2022, a year before the date of this release...
Jan was a man of the world, a traveller and a good-do-er. And a bit of a hoarder, as you can see in this video. From January 2023, Rogier and his sister have been in Jan's house almost every Wednesday to slowly 'empty it out' and come to terms with what happened on that unfortunate December 14th...
We hope that everyone faced with the sudden passing of a loved one and faced with cleaning out a house after their last parent died will find some comfort in the song and its lyrics.

Hi, thanks for your kind reply! I can tell you it was a long, emotional, painful but also healing process. It took my sister and me about half a year, 26 subsequent Wednesdays in 2023 to go though our dad's stuff and throw it away, keep it, give it away, sell it. It was hard. But it was also a proper goodbye after our sudden loss...
I'm listening this song on loop for almost 4 months. It's still emotional, meaningful, beautiful. Thats actually amazing

I've been listening to this song since release, and yesterday (17/02/2024) my mom passed way due to a cancer. I can't explain the pain I'm feeling, and how much I miss her. Stay close to your loved ones as much as possible, because when they're gone, they gone... and it's the worst pain.

I am so sorry for your loss Lucas! And I agree with you, it's so easy to think 'there will be another day'.
I can only tell you that now, more than a year after my father's passing the feeling of grief is somewhat less, that I mostly think about him in the context of the (good) life that he had and not his last days.
I hope our song can give you some comfort in some form or, as it was in my case, release the tears that had to get out...

Next to the song be different then the others on our debut album due to the very personal story, my singing is indeed a bit different too then most other tracks: I sing quite a bit in my lower register. I am trying to do this more now as I do agree with you that it 'works'. The other aspects that makes my voice different in this track is that I was quite emotional while singing it. This will be something harder to 'replicate' though...

@@NewMarshallPlan Well ..at some time most of us have to face this situation...in your fathers case it was this terrible accident...in ours it was some kind of a sudden death...we had a good phone call the evening before so there are no regrets even though we had our ups and downs over the years..I was very touched by your video and I wish you all the best for you and your familiy and all the upcoming things about your music...Looking forward to seeing you some time on a german stage
@ulijohannes2322 Yes, in the end it is inevitable that we all face this somehow, at least in the 'normal' circle of life...
In our case, my sister had been on a phone call with my father, just before he went shopping. When this occurred, there was this short moment when we were thinking: 'What if I didn't call? What if I called 5 minutes, 1 minute, 10 seconds longer / shorter and such.
But of course it doesn't work that way...
We definitely hope to be on a German stage in the future! Do you have suggestions for good 'starter stages' there?
