I know what your saying. It's a catch 22, if we demand higher quality, we are sure to see higher prices. So even though I complained a lot in this video, I was happy with the end result.
Steve, Awesome video. I'm going to do exactly what you did. My only concern is that the replacement fork I get off ebay may not be the same as the one you purchased. Do you remember who you bought it from or the manufacturer? Thanks!
Hi, sorry but I do not remeber who the seller was. I do remember they were in California, and there are 2 sellers on Ebay in CA selling these, but neither Id seems familiar to me. Odds are they are all buying from the same supplier, probablt in China. As I saw in the video, quality issues, but for the money, it was workable.
So can you answer a question for me pls. Iv seen so many reviews about how junk these are. Well i want to do 100 percent exactly what you did. My question is when u pulled the new cheap lowers off were they the exact same length and gurth as the oem lowers that you were replacing. ? If so then this should be a pretty decent fix i would think. But then again idk. You tell me lol. Thanks
If the lowers fit the same way in the oem set up then it should be fine. Ill probably just slap it on the way it is and see if its as loose and shitty as ppl say and if so THEN swap it like you did. Cause what im gathering is some ppl are getting lucky but most are having issues. Idk
@@rickyrickharris4908 sounds like a good plan. There is no way of knowing how good the fit will be on these chinese replacements until you try them. They are cheap, so the tolerances are larger. I bet you could order 3 from the same seller and get 3 different fits. But these worked out fine for us right up until we sold it.
you're talking about how cheap the ebay replacements are... but aren't the "expensive" honda ones the one's that bent? and look how they're made... the honda ones aren't exactly stellar quality. flattened, drilled, welded for ends? How's THAT not also CHEAP... ?? The almighty honda ones also bent.
Mine are bent just like in this vid but only bc i let a big kid ride and he ran straight up a tree stump sending bike into the air for a full backflip. Last time i let somone else kids ride it. And your wrong. Honda is way way way better sir. Nothing out there is gonna be made to not bent under these said conditions.
Its sad that we have to tolerate junk like that. I just replaced the front brakes, calipers and brake lines on my 1996 chevy k2500 4x4 diesel over the weekend the parts cost a grand total of 73.00. I can remember that about 10 to 15 years ago that would have been 500 to 600 dollars and of course they gave me the wrong brake lines. But I guess we tolerate the junk to save some money, I had to grind down 1 of the 6 rivets on the back of the pads to get them to fit in the new calipers.
Look buy the 6.99 protection plan for 4 years . All labor, parts and shipping is no cost to customer if part breaks or malfunctions. Switch your bent lowers with new lowers and return it for full refund saying they bent in the first ride hahahahaha.
Glad to see this before the project. Will do the same as you did. Factory springs are better anyway.

wow this is a revelation thanks i ended up with the same exact problem
I'm running the forks in question and I jump them all time with no problems
I got the same forks and had the same problem with the chipping of the paint
good video

etyrnal the honda ones bent because my son hit a large rock, not because they we're flimsy. the replacements were cheaply priced, and cheaply made.
Steve Watroba I have a set of Honda ones. On a Honda. They are definitely cheaply made. That's why they'll bend when you hit a rock.
