  • Nikhil Kamath sheds light on the intricate world of big brands and their crafty strategies. Over the last few years, he's consciously distanced himself from the allure of luxury shopping,
    Raj Shamani reveals the core of this manipulation: it's not about selling to those who have money but rather targeting those who don't. It's about portraying an ideal image of who you could become, subtly convincing you that their product defines a certain kind of person.
    But here's a message - the importance of supporting homegrown Indian brands. By choosing products from local brands, we not only celebrate authenticity but also contribute to our nation's growth and success.

    As a Frenchman, I can tell you that luxury is for people who feel bad about themselves and need to find an identity to feel part of something. That's why there are no luxury brands for bodybuilders, but there are for very thin people like teenagers: if you're comfortable in your skin, you don't need artifice. It's pure marketing genius to make people think they're not good enough unless they buy your product. That's why there's all that haughtiness in luxury: to make you feel rejected and therefore self-doubting.

      Middle class is easy to be manipulated because they drive their sense of social status and acceptance from owning these luxury items. Brands never knock middle class doors, they themselves go seeking.
      The rich don’t need that kind of validations from society and they prefer luxury brands for its quality and durability.
      Ultimate story: Get Rich first!

    • @namehere4954
      @namehere4954 10 місяців тому

      How is it LITERALLY killing them 🤣?!? It's not. If you can't budget, you shouldn't have the funds you have. Idc how much money I have, I set a limit on how much I'll spend on a type of item - a consumer determines value, not the producer. When you allow the producer to control what you find of value, you're just a stupid lemming.

    The fact that people even buy from such snobby stores tells me of their insecurity. These stores are literally pushing (read insulting), their customers, so just to prove, the people will not only make a purchase, they will purchase an even more expensive item than they initially planned, so that they can PROVE to the salesperson that they are rich(and thereby worthy of respect). Next, this customer is now going to flash this item in front of their circle as a status symbol..thus inspiring (inciting) them to go and make a bigger purchase..thus starting a mini chain reaction. No wonder in certain circles almost all of them have some product from the brand. While this may be a genius marketing strategy…it surely is petty

      A comparison can be made when people understand, see, feel, get benefit. Brand changes marketing when brand understands that selling products as a some kind of label is many times profit than selling it to someone who actually utilises features and options it has dedigned. And at this point people start buying for label or status not for use. So majorly the idea here is right for 80 to 90% people.
