- Today officially marks 7 years since we moved to Mexico to keep our family together after my husband's deportation from the United States. It is also day 7 of Vlogmas. This day is a roller coaster of emotions for us so this year I wanted to walk you through our first couple of months here with some photos and memories. I am so proud of our family and how far we have come and we are proud to call Mexico home.

It is sad my dear Candice, you know exactly what we the Hispanics feel when we come to the States. It is a completely different world! And also we still like the States a lot but we feel sad not to be able to see the land which we grew up! Life many times is ironic! But still let’s try to be happy with what we have! Changes are never easy. I also cried myself to sleep on my first night in my new life. You’re absolutely right, it is on us to make our lives a living hell or a wonderful heaven. I’m a new viewer and I love watching your family’s journey. The culture shock of another country, no family, and starting over is definitely overwhelming and you pushed through that for the love of your beautiful family. How amazing!
When we moved to Mexico in 2018, I remember crying as we left our home and property in California.
I understand what you experienced. It was the same feelings for me. And thankfully, as you, I have an understanding husband and together we made the transition.
I still mourn for the friends and family we left. But am grateful for our bravery to do this. October 1st was our fifth year here.
We are so grateful to love Mexico and consider it our home.

I was tearing up - I can imagine how you must have felt - knowing you were doing the best for your family by moving to Mexico - but still morning what could have been in the states. I know the feeling of having that culture shock. My father is from MX (dual citizenship) so my parents, my brothers, and I lived in Mx. for a while and I would wake up crying in the middle of the night feeling that same feeling that you are talking about. It’s a feeling you can’t explain until you have experienced it. I’m glad that you were able to take a deep breath and just let everything fall into place. Look at you now! 💝🙏🏼

And she also had a housekeeper, and someone who came in to cook for her. I lived with her when I was in kindergarten. My grandfather was the one who headed the railroad. The station was across the street. He came home for lunch ate, and had a siesta. We were very well known as his grandchildren we visited several times as we grew up. I loved those memories. But life there was not as primitive as life where you are. Wow! I give you a lot of credit!❤😅🎉

Oh Candice you had me crying with you. This vlog reminded me of the beauty in our struggles. Sometimes it’s hard to appreciate things when they come easy or are accessible. I was born in the US, but 95% of my family is in Mexico. I have lived in Michoacán & California during different periods of my life, spent many summers living Mexico . Some of my most treasured memories revolve around my life in Mexico, where superficial things aren’t of any importance. Nothing like being part of traditions that aren’t the norm in the states, Posadas & Christmas are my favorite.

This is by far the best video in my opinion. it made me cry too. My heart melted when you said i remember sitting on the bed crying. I could relate because when I visited Mexico for the first time it is such an eye opener because they live extremely different from us in the states. One doesn’t think about the little things until we need them, then that’s when we’re grateful for everything we have. I can understand how difficult it must have been to be uprooted when you didn't really plan it or at least that soon. But you've overcome obstacles and challenges and have been able to adapt. I can’t believe it’s been seven 7yrs and it still brings emotion . I don’t know know you personally and yet I still tear up . I am moving down to Mexico this weekend along with my 5 kids . We haven’t seen my husband their dad in 2 months . We are moving and I hope it’s the best choice even though it’s hard to leave the us and just my kids start new school in Spanish . You are giving me hope everything will be alright .
