THIS IS MY FAVORITE ZELDA AND I WILL FIGHT THE ENTIRE FANDOM IN ITS DEFENSE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE LOL 😍😍😍😍 god the nostalgia love how you expanded these short little themes, love you for doing this!!!!!! ❤❤
For real, I really liked this game growing up. I was shocked to hear that a lot of people aren't fans, but I agree, their opinions are objectively wrong lol
One of my favs, too! I didn't realize until recently how many ppl hated on it. This may have been the second game I ever played on NES at my friend's house
It may not be my favorite of the Retro Legends (the Oracle games take that spot for me!) - No need to fight me, though. It's all kinds of fun in its own right!
I'm in my 40s & got an NES later than most people. Around 89 to 90, my mom rented this game for me that I randomly saw & we loved it. I didn't play Zelda 1 until later, but to this day I'll declare this one here is my favorite. You've perfected the music here. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
This game is very underrated. Love the game. Lot of people nowadays don't play it because it seems to be too difficult. Play it smart and it is very do-able. Best zelda music. Play it once in some years and finish it. On topic: Great job, loved it!
Play it with a GameGenie code that gives you infinite lives and you'll find it MUCH more forgiving. That one mechanic alone is responsible for 80% of the game's frustration.
It is definitely one of the more difficult Zelda games, though when you consider it in the wider pantheon of cheap-death, cheap-hit NES games it's probably one of the more balanced.
@@yellowblanka6058 Play it smart. It is al about the experience points. Know how many upgrades you can get, Know how many temples there are. If you do it right, the game is a blast and not that hard anymore.
So many memories of the Temple theme in that smash melee level where there's the little corner you can trap people in and get a gazillion percent without falling haha!
@@AnimalisaKeys Ooh, a complete melee soundtrack would be most exquisite. Credit to BearKeys already having done something like that already. Would love to see your interpretation someday!
Town theme I could literally loop all day and not get bored. It's the perfect balance of uplifting and whimsical and on piano it really shines for the underlying melody.
Yeah another complete soundtrack in the bag!! The original soundtrack is already so good and it sounds even better on piano! Your playing is great as always, Annalisa! Keep it up and can't wait for the next one!
This was an eeeeaaaasy 18m 14s life decision to make. ❤ Haha, as weird as it is to say, your renditions of "battle," "town," and "inside a home" really elicited strong emotional/memory recall from my childhood. Ive heard a lot of zelda/zelda2 covers, but not of those songs, and I haven't really thought of them since then. Thanks for the really wonderful memories from childhood. This is easily one of the best Zeldas. Tied with Links Awakening for my fav. Your rendition of the boss theme made it hit at Chrono Trigger caliber. Well done!
@adameves5970 You know what? Fair enough, on the OST track listing it IS called Palace theme, but while I heard the song originally from Zelda 2, I learned the name of the song from Super Smash Bros Melee's soundtrack listing and there I would have sworn had I not just double checked that it was called the temple theme, but it's not, it's Great Bay Shrine. Though in the wiki, it does reference the temple theme from Zelda 2. I'm not sure where the name came from. That's kinda weird!
Zelda II is my favorite Zelda game. That's right, I said it! It needed to be said; in my opinion it's the best one! I love this piano arrangement. The point of critique (if you ever would ask) I'd profess is this: Segue between themes using modulation, variation, foreshadowing and tempo shift. Rather than cutting each piece, weave them together like fabric. Create a continuous medley, if you will.

Ah, I feel this ost goes a little under appreciated. But it's nice that some songs still continue on in like smash and such! I feel it's a truly unique ost! Fantastic work, dear! Love seeing more of lesser done tracks!
Zelda II was always underrated. I never even played Zelda I growing up (the rental store always had a busted cartridge) so this was way more nostalgic to me than hearing Zelda I music. Great job!
This is one of my childhood's soundtracks I love most. Like a lot your arrangements and interpretation, specially the "boss theme". Thank you for making this! 💜💜💜
I could listen to this medley on repeat! My favorite Zelda game of all time, hearing this brings back so many warm and fuzzy memories from my childhood grinding the hell out of this game. The way you FEEL the music when you play the piano is really captivating…mad skills do not go unnoticed 🥳🕺🏼🙌🏻

It's literally the best interpretation and additional creative expression of the origami themes that I've heard in years. I sincerely hope that she (one day) makes some attempts on Phantasy Star 2's music. Now THAT soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal. Z2 is lovely, but PSt2 goes above and beyond matching emotional catharsis in storytelling to music.
Amazing performance. You’re priceless! This soundtrack confused the F out of me as a kid, because I could tell it wasn’t koji kondo. Now I just see it as different but completely equal to the other great osts in the franchise. I love playing the drums along to it.
@@AnimalisaKeysI recommend you check out "link is adventuresome" it's a really excellent ROM hack that expands the original game without messing with anything
This was always my favorite Zelda game. I played it on Nintendo Switch recently and loved it still. Such great nostalgia. Zelda always had some of the best music. Tomb Raider as well.
I never managed to finish this game as a kid (got all the way to the last temple), I probably have even less chance as an adult, it was HARD.... The one thing I did love about it though was the music, it's wonderful and unique to this game as if it's in it's own Zelda universe.
