    This was sooo helpful! I’m currently doing research on beadwork, and I haven’t been able to find anything in how people are getting long enough beadwork to make hatbands, and this totally blows my mind! Thank youuu!😇

      Hey man! I’m on the same search, I want to make a band for my cowboy hat and don’t know what to do, have you already made yours? If so would you mind tellin me what you did? Thanks man, God bless

    Where are the threads from the end of each piece from you cut it off the loom?

      It's a Ricks Loom, which has only 2 warp ends after it comes off the loom

    Thank you for this. I've been thinking of doing beadwork by combining different sections like this

    I was wondering about all the warp threads but just read in comments that it's a Rick's Loom, so I guess I need to search how to join two pieces made from a regular loom.

    Great idea. Can anyone tell me if this would work two join two loom projects vertically? I have a pattern that is too wide for my loom, but I don't want to lose definition by making it smaller. Could I zip up two halves vertically without distorting the design much? I appreciate any help.

      Regrettably, we do not have a tutorial on how to join loom pieces vertically, but we can confirm it can be done. We recommend doing a search on Google for "Joining Loom Woven Panels Together Vertically." It can certainly be done without distorting the design.

    How did you end the first piece when you cut your piece off the loom. I do not see any of the strings. What did you do with them?

      @beadaholique I wondered the same thing. Is it just tied off and cut, then sort of "tucked under" what would be the back of the piece? That's all I can think of that would make sense *shrug*

    How did you weave your ends in? Is there a video for that?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому +1

      We have a popular old video on how to tie off and weave in the thread. It's not specific to looming, but the underlying technique is the same and can be used with all sorts of bead weaving: ua-cam.com/video/Yddc8N5WOL4/v-deo.html

    This is great but how do you weave in all the ends that you cut off the loom?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  2 роки тому

      With this model of loom (a Ricks loom) you don't have a lot of ends to cut off, you slide the piece off when it's finished and are left with just two loose warp threads that can be woven in. We've got an old video of ours that demonstrates the Ricks loom here: beadaholique.com/products/how-to-use-the-ricks-beading-loom
      If you're working with a model like a Jewel loom, which does have a lot of warp threads, the joining technique in this video won't work. There isn't a good way to do smooth joins between two Jewel loom pieces unfortunately. That's why we recommend using the Ricks loom for long pieces.

    What do you do with the end that you arent putting a clasp on. The 2 ends that you are connecting have all these strings.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      Hi Lindsay,
      Here are a couple videos on our two most commonly used finishing techniques. Most simply you can tie in those tailing strings into the beadwork to secure them as we show in this video: beadaholique.com/products/how-to-tie-off-and-add-new-thread-in-bead-weaving
      Or you can finish the piece with a slide clasp as you see here:

    I really like the colors of your hat Bands Kat but why make knots when you attached both pieces?? i don't make knots when i do Peyote stitches i just zigzag arround my projects but i never worked whit a loom so it is very important to make knots on loom projects,Thank you for sharing this great tip very handy!

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  9 років тому

      Sylvie Dufour I add small knots for security. They disappear in the work anyway. It is just a choice, you could try it without the knots but I prefer the security.

    How would you do a ribbon end using the Ricks bead loom?

    • @jenrockxoxo
      @jenrockxoxo 7 років тому

      Krista Fredericksen I don't think that's possible since there's nowhere to weave a selvedge (sp?) end. maybe you can use clamps still but don't break the beads. personally, I like the MIYUKI slide clasps the best. the SMALL ones with 11/O diameter.
